Lovin' your report (loved last years too!) Lesley. Tim, you are too funny with your comment (and your teasers while in the World)!! My family went to Myrtle Beach two days after you arrived back home...so I had a lot of catching up to do when I returned a week later. I've been mostly a 'lurker', though I posted to comment on LeCellier (we loved it back in Aug '05!). I must admit you spoiled us with the quick updates, but take your time...your reports are worth it! :)

O.K. O.K., I PROMISE I am working on it. I just got all of the pics uploaded to photobucket and am posting this and then starting day 7, should have it done within a half an hour or so, stay tuned!!!!
Lesley

Yes! I was scrolling through my sub'd threads and saw you had just posted, it's like an addiction...lol. Can't wait to read more Lesley.

Day 7

Today was a Magic Kingdom morning for us, we had a 7:30 Stitch wake up call this morning. Luke answered it and I would always call back and do one for ten minutes from then so Lauren could get one too (gotta be fair right parents!?!) I had already bought breakfast for us the night before using snack credits (can get a full box of Entemens doughnuts in the gift shop as a snack credit and one cereal and a milk together is a snack credit at the food court, gotta love snack credits, we ate in the room and were to the bus stop by 8:30 and got to the Magic Kingdom by 9:00. We wanted to do Space Mtn. Today so Tim headed to get Fast Passes for us, I saw Astro Orbiter in the distance and I have NEVER ridden it so I asked Tim if he wanted to give it a try, he doesn’t do spinning rides well and he passed, so I took the kids while he went to get FP’s. Here is Luke trading pins with the CM who ran the elevator at Astro Orbiter:
Photo1Small-2.jpg

It took a while to wait for the elevator (about 5 minutes), I snapped a pic of the sign as we waited:
Photo2Small-2.jpg

I honestly didn’t know in all the years of seeing this ride in the distance that it was up so high and you took an elevator up to it, VERY COOL!
We made it up to the top and waited for our seats, here is Lauren waiting:
Photo3Small-2.jpg

What a cool ride, awesome view, it did go faster than I thought so it was a good call that Tim skipped, we would have been sick.
Here are the kids on the ride (it was a tight squeeze all 3 of us in that tiny rocket)
Photo5Small-3.jpg

Luke enjoyed it a lot:

Photo4Small-3.jpg

I called Tim when we got off the ride,he had headed to Tomorrowlands raceway to drive a car, let’s be honest, Tim was on a DREAM TEAM MISSION. We had seen people all week get Dream Team Fast passes in the morning riding rides and they had gotten one at MGM by riding movie ride so early so he was bound and determined to get as many rides in as possible in the a.m. to better his chances. The kids and I headed to Pooh’s honeypots, as we got on I saw people streaming in from the Small World area with Dream Fast passes around their necks, I asked one of the families and they said they were given out on Small World that morning, see, could have been us the other day when we rode Small World first thing, my advice, just ride as much as you can in the a.m. to better your chances.
Anyway, we had a good ride on Pooh’s honeypots, the kids just LOVE this ride. Here is my not so good pic of Lauren on the ride:
Photo7Small-3.jpg

By the time we got off of Pooh Tim said that they dropped the Toontown Rope and to meet him at Barnstormer, I thought he would wait for us, but by the time we got over there he was already riding by himself in the front, I’m telling you, this guy was bound and determined to maximize his dream team opportunities : )
There was no line and we got to ride Barnstormer two times in a row without getting off, the kids were on cloud nine:
Photo9Small-3.jpg

After Barnstormer we decided to head into the Judges tent to see some characters, we only waited about 5 minutes and saw some great characters.
The kids saw Donald and they were excited :
Photo10Small-2.jpg

The rope quickly dropped and we were on our way to see Donald:
Photo13Small-2.jpg

We were all excited (well I was thrilled and I know Lauren was excited) when we saw Daisy Duck was there, we’ve never seen her before!!!
Photo12Small-2.jpg

Then we got a family shot with Minnie herself:
Photo11Small-2.jpg

Then the kids said they wanted to check out Minnie and Mickey’s houses so off we went:
I LOVE it when my kids do this:
Photo14Small-2.jpg

I took a shot of Tim and the kids in front of the house:
Photo15Small-2.jpg

Tim decided to re-inact a scene from Ghost in Minnie’s art room:
Photo16Small-2.jpg

The kids have so much fun exploring Minnie’s house, they like Mickey’s too but Minnie’s is so much more hands on. This year they discovered you can “bake a cake” in her oven, when you turn the knob the cake rises and falls in the oven, they thought this was REALLY COOL!
Photo17Small-2.jpg

Photo20Small-2.jpg

As always, Lauren had to check out what Minnie stashes in her fridge:
Photo18Small-2.jpg

We let Luke try to take a picture of us in Minnie’s sunroom:
Photo19Small-2.jpg

Then we stepped outside to explore Minnie’s garden:
Photo22Small-2.jpg

After that we got on the train to Adventureland, I learned before we left that you can leave your rental stroller at the train station and get another one at any stop as long as you get your namecard and take it with you, time to put that to the test. We got off at Adventureland and got a stroller no problem, VERY COOL! We got FP’s for Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad and from there didn’t really know what to do. It was SUPER HOT!
Photo29Small-3.jpg

I kept saying “We could see Tiki Room” “Tim, we’ve never seen the Tiki Room Show” “Tiki Room has air conditioning and no line” “How about the Tiki Room?’ Tim HATES birds, he swore he’d never see this show, but with the heat and time to kill before we could ride Thunder Mtn. He GAVE IN, HEY, another COMPROMISE, thanks Tim. We headed to the Tiki Room show. Tim had been craving popcorn so we stopped and got a popcorn snack and then we saw Peter Pan and Wendy, this character interaction was AWESOME.

Here is Luke talking to Peter, they talked forever about the park, what Luke had done that day, if he had ridden Peter’s ride, etc. etc. they were great!
Photo23Small-2.jpg

Lauren in turn talked Wendy’s ear off about all of the princesses she had seen the night before, it was a LONG conversation:
Photo24Small-2.jpg

Then after the visiting was over I got a great group shot:
Photo26Small-3.jpg

We munched on our popcorn and then went into the Tiki Room show. The air felt GREAT. I took a pic of Luke and I with a thumbs up because I couldn’t believe we actually got Tim to go to the show, YES!!! I am loving this year of a million compromises thing more and more:
Photo28Small-3.jpg

Here is a pic of the ceiling as the show starts:
Photo27Small-3.jpg

I have to admit, when it first started I was thinking “oh no, I’m NEVER gonna hear the end of this, how corny and awful. BUT, then as it went on it got cute and it wasn’t too bad, definitely not a favorite by ANY means, but cute and a good way to pass the time while waiting for a FP attraction and heck it had AIR CONDITIONING!!! The kids absolutely loved the show by the way, which made it all the more worth it.
After Tiki Room we headed to Splash Mountain and used our old Fast Passes that we didn’t get to use on my b-day since it was shut down, got through the FP line no problem with the old FP’s, YES!!!! I just love this ride, it is my new favorite Magic Kingdom ride, I just love Splash Mountain.
Here is a happy Lauren on the ride:
Photo30Small-3.jpg

Couple more Splash photo’s we snapped:
Up the hill:
Photo33Small-3.jpg

Every time I look at this I start singing “everybody has a laughing place, a laughing place to go ho ho, turn that frown right upside down and you’ll find yours I know ho ho!!” I just love that song!
Photo32Small-3.jpg

After Splash we headed to Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad and used our FP’s for that, had another great ride on it as well, SOOOOO great to all ride together this year, so happy Lauren is 40 inches tall now!!! Gives Disney a whole new meaning when you don’’t waste time parent swapping rides and get to experience everything together as a family for a change!
After that we were starving and headed to find AIR CONDITIONING and food. We stopped in Columbia Harbour house for lunch. I think I was the only one happy with my meal here, the kids meal choices were horrible, they could only choose from macaroni and cheese or a salad with grilled chicken on it. YUCK. I ordered mac and cheese for the kids (even though Luke was saying he wouldn't eat it) and I got the fish and chips which were outstanding but Tim wasn’t thrilled with his lunch it was chicken fingers that he didn’t care for. Here is Lauren eating Tim's apple cobbler desert, she DEVOURED it!!! (she was content with her meal)
Photo35Small-3.jpg

Here is Luke inside of Columbia Harbour house (he ended up forgoing his mac and cheese and eating most of my fish:
Photo34Small-3.jpg

Tim was still hungry so he headed outside to get a turkey leg:
Photo36Small-3.jpg

By this point our phone rang and Darlene and John from the Dis who had become our friend before the trip were in the park so we were excited to meet up with them later in the day.
We headed back to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mtn. Luke decided for some reason he didn’t want to ride so I told Tim I would take the kids on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (another attraction we have never been on- I know, can you believe it!?!) and that we’d meet up with him in the Space Mtn. Arcade after.
So we headed to the TTA:
Photo37Small-3.jpg

As we were getting on my cell rang and it was Tim saying that Space Mtn. Had temporarily shut down so he was headed to the TTA to ride with us, at this point it was too late because we were already in our car, so he rode several cars behind us. We both enjoyed the ride and can’t believe we hadn’t done this before.
Here is Lauren on the ride:
Photo38Small-3.jpg

And a happy Luke enjoying the ride:
Photo39Small-3.jpg

When we were on the TTA we noticed that Space Mtn. Was indeed up and running so we headed there. Tim went on first and rode (why is it that he always gets to ride the FP attractions first, I would live to regret that here in a minute)
The kids and I waited for him to come off of the ride in the arcade.
When Tim arrived several minutes later after riding he had these babies:
Photo41Small-3.jpg

Stinkin’ filthy!!!! Two dreams in one trip for this guy!?! I couldn’t believe it. We found out this is why the ride shut down, to get the dream team in ( at least that is what people were speculating) so Tim was THRILLED with his dream ears, we had a very sad Luke in tears because he didn’t ride, I still don’t understand why he didn’t want to ride, he loved this ride last year. I went off and took my turn on the ride, got in a front rocket, fun ride!!!
As I came off Tim was sitting on the bench with this in his hand:
Photo40Small-3.jpg

He said “not to rub it in at all, but while you were in there riding I got picked to do a special 10 man race (he and Luke both got picked) on a grand prix racing game in the arcade as a special wish and Tim won the race and was awarded this wish certificate:
Photo42Small-3.jpg

Needless to say Tim was a little happy, two wishes in one day, third wish of his trip, INCREDIBLE!
We headed to get some ice cream as we waited to meet John and Darlene. They appeared and we had a great visit with them,
Photo44Small-3.jpg

it was nice to meet them. The kids were so excited to meet them that they gave them huge hugs. Being the sweet people they are they had bought Buzz Light Year light up swords for the kids and brought Luke a Lightning McQueen pin and Lauren a Cinderella pin, SO SWEET! As we visited the kids played with the Balzacs (gotta love that nameJ ) with other kids:
Photo43Small-3.jpg

As we were winding up our visit one of the ladies at the Balzac stand said “so are you interested in purchasing a ball today?” I said “out of curiosity how much are they?” I couldn’t believe her reply “54 dollars” WHAT!?!?! Ummmmmm no thank you. . .
By this time it was around 3:30 so we headed out with our tired and hot children and headed back to POFQ.

Stay tuned. . . .coming up is a sleeping beauty, dinner at LeCellier (YUM) smoochin’ at Illuminations, bus NIGHTMARE!!!!

Love it Lesley, you guys got a lot done for a busy day I'm impressed. I remember those Balzacks everytime we pass them now we laugh about the price, ouch! Tell Tim John can't wait for more man hugs...lol.

Tim decided to re-inact a scene from Ghost in Minnie’s art room:
Photo16Small-2.jpg

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: that's too funny! i'm pretty sure the imagineers did NOT have that scene in mind when they designed minnie's house!

i share tim's hatred of birds, so the tiki room is a nice place for me to nap. but you're right - at least it's air conditioned!

i'm so jealous you guys got to meet peter....he's my favorite character and i've never met him!!! we don't like wendy though......wendy stole tink's man. ;)

and as far as tim getting the dreams.........can you say lucky duck????!!!! that's so awesome!

So exciting to read about your Magic Kingdom day! We will definitely be getting to the parks when they open when we take our trip. Need to get as many rides in before the lines get too long.

Tim is a little "stinker" isn't he?.... Like they say men never grow up... lol

Can't wait to read about your evening at Le Cellier... That was one of our favorite restaurants. :thumbsup2

Thanks for another great update. It looks like you had another great day. I can't believe Tim won 3 wishes in one trip.
I love the picture of Luke and Lauren holding hands. I would love to get a genuine shot like that of my boys holding hands in WDW... there would have to be lots of pixie dust flyin' for that to happen.
Do you take a camcorder to the parks along with your camera? I was just curious b/c we are trying to decide if we want to bother with the camcorder this year. I hate being bothered with it in the parks but I always enjoy reliving the memories through the years.
Thanks for sharing.

Tim looks too cute in those ears!! Every man in the world should wear mickey ears!! haha...cant wait for the next chapter!
