Tigger Tail from Pooh's Corner

Okay I'm just going to come straight out and ask........what's a tigger tail?!?

Skewered marshmallows, dipped in caramel, then dipped in orange flavored chocolate. Finally they are "striped" with dark chocolate to give it a look like Tigger's Tail. Pretty tasty, but VERY sweet.

ETA- these are amazingly easy to make at home, people. I do it from time to time. It's WAY cheaper than buying them in the parks. I can make like a dozen of them for around $8, sometimes less, if I catch a sale.

I think this is one of those things that you either love or hate, no middle ground :lol: I love them. DH thinks they are groooooooossssss Now - what's a cheshire tail? Off to do a search ....

OK. I think I am going to be a middle ground. While I didn't hate it, I didn't think it was thaaaaat great either. It had to do with the texture. Too gooey and chewy for me.

Where exactly do you buy these? I couldn't find 'em. I checked around the Splash Mountain exit where Tigger and Pooh were, but didn't see 'em.

They are sold inside the Pooh Corner store just beyond the Winnie the Pooh ride. The store is part souvenir shop and sweet shop.

They have one of those big windows where you can see them making treats. I was entranced watching them make Tigger Tails while in line.

I'm scared to try! lol, i'm not the biggest marshmellow fan, but then i LOVE chocolate, but then im not a big fan of orange flavored chocolate. lol. I'm DH would love to at least try one...but i think i'd be more likely to try the chesire tail. Maybe we'll get one of each and split them.

How does the taste of the orange chocolate compare to one of those chocolate oranges? The ones you have to break apart into little "slices".

Ok, let me just start by saying that I HATE orange (and grape for that matter) flavor but I LOVE the Tigger Tail!

To me, it tastes a bit like orange sherbert, only better and of course not actual ice cream/sherbert. It's not an overwhelmingly orange flavor and I personally don't think it tastes at all like the chocolate oranges. I hate those!

I was on the fence about getting one but DS really wanted to try it and so we just went for it. I'm not a big caramel person, don't really like fancy chocolates (give me a 3musketeers bar anyday!) and hate dark and white chocolate. Hmm...I guess I'm a little picky.

It's sweet but really good. The combo of flavors is awesome and I encourage everyone to at least try it once. Even if you don't think you'll like it because you don't like caramel, or you don't like marshmellow, or you don't like orange flavor, etc....you might be pleasantly surprised and enjoy as much as DS and I did!

Split one the first time around and if neither of you like it, you only wasted the money on one.

Does anyone have any idea how long they will have the Chesire Cat tails? They sound yummy!!! However no trip for me until Dec. I love the Tigger Tails but for sure like Strawberry better then orange.

After reading and hearing about these on the Dis boards, I knew I had to try one.

I showed DS the pictures found on the food porn link and we KNEW that we just had to see what they tasted like. We split one (just in case we didn't like it, I was only out the cost of one) and we LOVED it! Now it's a MUST for our trips. DH won't even try it, which is sad because he loves orange flavored things but isn't big on chocolate and marshmellow.

This year we are driving and we are planning on buying several as we leave the park to bring home to my extended family. They've never tried them and DS keeps talking about the Tigger Tails and I've shown them pics but they have no idea what they are missing! Geez, I hope I can get them home in one piece...and not eat them myself.

Just wanted to let you know about our experience a few weeks ago. We bought Tigger Tails as we were leaving the park to bring home. Picked them up around 2:30pm, put them in ziploc bags so they'd stay fresh, and then ate them the next morning. Their freshness factor went WAY down. The orange color had dulled slightly and it was starting to crack a bit. I was surprised how quickly they began tasting stale. We still ate them but they weren't nearly as good. The huge Mickey Cookies that we brought home were worse. Again, we picked them up right before we left and ate them the next morning. My kids enjoy these but after one bite of the next-day cookie they were done. They smelled a bit off and just tasted awful. Even the less picky treat-eaters in the family wouldn't take a second bite. They all ended up in the garbage. Just an FYI.

I'm not a big marshmellow fan, unless they are in tigger tails or s'mores...really I just don't like them...nor do I like orange flavored choclate but OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Tigger Tails!!!!!! My co-worker is going to DL next week, I'm going to ask him to bring me 1 TT and 1 CT to try. DD10 and I will share them. I'm also going to ask him to bring something for DBF and DD13 but can't figure out what....LOL I've had the TT's when they are a few days old, no they aren't as good as fresh but we sure didn't throw them out.....

I hope the chesire isn't a limited edition type of flavor. It sounds delicious, and I'd love to try it when we go this fall. I'm not a big fan of sweets, but I will have to try the tigger tail, after reading so much about it. I bet I'll wind up loving it.

My nephew is 6 and has never been to DL and we wanted to bring him something back that was super special. I had my heart set on a tigger tail.

Anyone else had any experiences in bringing this goodies home?? We have a cooler so I was planning on getting them right as we leave the park, putting them in a ziploc and straight into our cooler for the day and a half drive home. Someone...please tell me they are still good after 2 days!!

Oooh and thanks for the awesome pics. We will be there in exactly one week and looking at your photo's gets me super pumped! I'm so ready to eat one of these bad boys!

I wrote an article about a year (or more?) ago on making these at home. And although they came out really yummy, we only tried them on the day they were made, so I wonder now if they would have been too stale the next day?

I wonder that, because I was planning to make some to take on our DLR trip this summer. Orange flavored chocolate isn't something anybody in our family likes (like others have mentioned, we also had a run in with one of those chocolate oranges and now none of us can stand the flavors together, lol). This way, we can have the fun colors (going to have to try some pink and purple ones now that I've learned about the CT's!) without the flavorings of the ones in the park. Plus, the regular sized TT's are way too big for us, so I was going to make some mini-TT's at home with mini marshmallows. I had planned to make several and put them in Ziploc bags.

I guess I'd better try some in the next few days to see how many days they stay edible afterwards. We're bringing along extended family (2 adults, 2 kids) with our family of 6 on this DLR trip, so I was going to make quite a bit of these mini-TT's to bring along. No need to go through the hassle if they won't taste decent after the 1st day they're made.

Has anybody else had a different experience?....brought them home and they were still good over the course of the next few days?

I hope someone else can share an experience better than mine. Even after my experience I would still bring some home for myself, but I probably wouldn't bring some home for someone else as their "first taste." I just wanted to let you know the possibility of the going-stale-quickly factor. Maybe a cooler would make a difference. I imagine they keep them cool on trays at DL and then bring them out as they need more. We just had them in ziplocs (we were flying). Good luck and have a fun trip!

My kids looove tigger tails! That's the only thing that they ask for when we go to Disneyland. I'm sure they will want to try the Chesire Cat one. Heck, I want to try it too.

I was reading this thread just thinking to myself "oh I'll buy a few and take them home!" I guess not! Maybe I'll just buy one extra and see if it lasts - I'm not so bothered about the look being off, but I don't want it to taste bad!

Oh, and that photo makes it look like they're dipping it in Pepto Bismal!!! Sort of puts me off trying those!
