The good news is, they showed up both times.
The bad news is, the driver (who never gave us his name, and we were too nervous to ask) was a *******. I had to look around baggage claim for a while to find him (he was in a strange spot nowhere near our carousel and nowhere near a central place), and i had to peer at the sign which he wasn't really holding up. When I said my friends were getting our luggage, he said he'd meet me there. He didn't. We went and found him again, and he started walking really fast ahead of us. My friend had to stop and tie her shoe, so I asked him to wait a second. He said okay, and started walking faster. I had to run after him so I wouldn't lose him in the crowd while the rest of my friends chased after us.
He walked to the parking lot carrying my suitcase (which he had snatched from me) roughly and barely said a word to us. He mumbled our hotel name and I confirmed that we had to stop at the grocery store. The car ride was complete silence because we were utterly freaked out. He abruptly turned into the parking lot of the grocery store and stopped the car. Without a word we got out. We came back out 10 minutes later and waited a few more minutes for him to appear again. (Another nice towncar driver tried to hunt him down for us, just out of kindness.) We had made a vow to talk during the car ride after this point, and we did. After he dropped us off at the hotel, we laughed hysterically at that awful car ride. We said we'd call Tiffany before the return trip and beg for him not to be our return driver, but we forgot and lo and behold he showed up again. He spoke a tiny bit more this time but we were pissed and barely said a word to him. We were, however, courteous and tipped well both ways because we are classy ladies.
