Does anyone know if Tiffany & Co will allow you to exchange a gift without a receipt?

I got a crystal bowl as part of a promo and I have to say, it's quite ugly. It's something that I will never use so I'd like to exchange it for a different pattern but I'm afraid to try since I don't have a receipt. It is on their web site as a current item ($145).

Why don't you call them and ask?
ALthough if the bowl was a promo item, it might have a specific pattern that they only put on the promo items, thus they would know you didn't buy it outright and might not exchange it.

It's for sale on their web site.

It was a promotion offered by a local casino so not only do we have one ugly bowl, but we have two since DH also got one.

There is nothing at all on the bowl, bowl or package that indicates that it was part of this promotion but I'm sure that they know that the casino ordered them in a large quantity.

That's what I was thinking so I'm afraid to ask. I know that when I bought DD a necklace there, they asked for name, address...so I'm sure that if I told them it was a gift, they would ask for that information as well.

I did check their business account site and it looks like they probably paid $123.25 for the bowl (not as much of a discount as I thought it would be).

I was thinking of sending one to a friend for Christmas(she lives in another state). But would that fall into the category of tacky re-gifting?

I don't know why I didn't think to check their web site. The purchases that I've made have always been at a store.
