Tiering at Epcot

I thought Maelstrom was a Tier 1 attraction. I just booked FP+ for my August trip and I was able to book Test Track, Maelstrom and Mission Space. Living with the Land was listed as a Tier 1. Did they change the tiering or was this a mistake? Will the Maelstrom FP+ be valid?

I just looked at my account and it has Maelstrom listed in Tier 2 now too.

"Meeting Disney Pals" has also been moved to a Tier 2 attraction. Just modified my selections. This is much better!

That's pretty huge IMHO. Maelstrom is actually worthy of a FP+ since it can get some decent sized lines. A combo of TT or Soarin' + Maelstrom + M:S is actually fairly decent for reserved FP+ if you like all of them (I know M:S doesn't appeal to many folks).

Still, I'd be much happier getting Maelstrom than getting a FP+ for Nemo/Imagination/SSE.

It is definitely nice to see that they are monitoring tiering and adjusting as they see a need. Now if they would only drop tiering all together, that would be great!

I am so happy to read this. I was just telling DH that maelstrom is tier 1 (my fave) and we would need to choose between that and Soarin' (we would have gone with soarin') and he was so surprised it was tier 1. I just felt it justified my love for the ride .

So since the attractions that were once Tier 1 about 4 days ago are no longer so, does that mean it will change how it counts for me when I made those reservations on Friday? I would rather know now than later because I have our group split up and it was hard enough to use up that Tier 1 with things they could/wanted to experience.

I'm most interested because I'm trying to use up my first 3 in order to unlock #4 to get an Illuminations FP+ for all of us.

That's welcome news!!!!! Moving Maelstrom to second tier is great.....it's not a tier one attraction....Epcot really needs more rides!!!!! I know that some are against it but I would like more rides to be added to world showcase!!

Awesome! I had Test Track and was able to add in Illuminations too. (Yes, that's important to my pyro husband)

I just switched out and was able to get Malestrom to go along with my Mission Space and Test Track FP previously booked. As usual, thanks for sharing the information with everyone!!

I thought the same thing and just went to try and dump mission space and trade it for Soarin and it won't allow me to do it!! We have more people in our group that would rather NOT do MS but do want to do Soarin, someone please help with this....

Thanks for the info. Just traded Space ship Earth for Malestorm. Not usually much of a wait for SE. I tried to get Soarin instead of MS but it wouldn't let me. We already had TT booked. Just have to do Soarin first thing.

It appears it was a glitch in the system?? Last night I was able to grab two "Tier 2s" for each of our days at EPCOT, but this morning other posters are saying you no longer have the ability to do it? I read on another thread that this happened a few months ago, as well. Hope it worked out for everyone - Maelstrom should really be Tier 2!

Thanks OP!! I started playing around with my picks and when I went to modify my Living with the Land it gave Soarin as a choice!! Then when I modified my Spaceship Earth I was able to get Maelstrom! So now I have Test Track, Soarin and Maelstrom! I love the Dis!

This is great news! I can now fast pass Soarin', Maelstrom, and Spaceship Earth! I hated that Maelstrom was a Tier 1. It just didn't make sense. This is much better.

I'm probably the only one that is sad Living with the Land is Tier 1 - we love that ride.

For us we booked Soarin', Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth as our 3 - guess that is out now! I like Maelstrom but don't love it!
