Unpopular viewpoint here: I don't think "owners" with less than the number of points required for a full week in their home resort should be considered owners. Having 25 points does not an owner make and WE are all paying for the maintenance of that "owners" mailing, maintenance, etc...

I don't think everyone should have to pay for so much housekeeping either, I never stay 8 days in a resort, but I'm sure that would be an extra charge to figure all that out 🤣🤣 but at some other hotels if you opt out of housekeeping during your stay you get a discount

Do it with new members but you can remove it after the fact.

The membership extras were part of the contract and it states benefits removed will be replaced with something of like quality and value. It's why I said forever that APs would be back even while they were paused during capacity restrictions.

Why? The people to whom the points or reservations are rented would not be eligible for any of the benefits, only the DVC Owner themselves. And renting is allowed under our contracts. Plus it is probable that any tiered benefit would not be of any real benefit or value, unless they get to a tier of a free AP, which is highly doubtful that would even be considered.
Why would someone else staying on your points where you make a profit then give you priority to anything?

If your name (or a co-owner) is not the lead guest for even a single stay then remove said priority if the point is giving people with more invested some benefit.

I don't think it should happen at all though personally.

Well, I'm thinking it is because 1) You still legally own the points and 2) We have the right to rent them out, so how can it be legal for DVC to penalize you for exercising a contractual right? But I still don't see a tiered system, if implemented, giving any sort of truly major perk other than, perhaps, some better discounts or free MMB plan. It is highly doubtful they'd extend any of the booking windows, or give a FREE DDP. And in that sense, I doubt they'd want the added hassle of trying to administrate that sort of program.

It annoys me that sometimes I have to put a waitlist in for my own home resort. Id like to see homeowners go to the top of the waitlist at their home resort. Many people buy the cheapest resort (ssr) and never stay there, they only bid for (VGF, Poly). I understand thats the system, its just annoying.

Owners do get first chance st waitlist during the home resort period. Or are you talking something else?

Agreed I have to do this for January and I'm not too happy about it

not all trips are planned a year in advance. If something comes up, and theres a waitlist. you should at least get home resort advantage to the top of the waitlist for choosing that resort and putting your hard earned money down.

Voted yes but with some *

Don't want to see any advantage to booking/reservations as that just kind of seems no bueno for me. I already have an advantage by having a lot of points to being able to book the larger rooms and more expensive views.

I do like the idea of extra waitlists (and perhaps also even an extra transfer allocation) for us crazy people with larger piles of points. More points to use/move around more chances to do so....

Yes to a reasonable chance to book MM. Perhaps one a year using a concierge service to take the stress out of it. Many of us who have lots of points fund those by working 60+ hour weeks half the year and sometimes those booking windows happen right when you have to be on calls with your international teams. Perhaps it's just me, but I'd appreciate that help. Make us fight for the others, but get one easy to attend MM if we are able to make it.

Make the concierge service they seem to offer when you stay in a GV where they help you book dinning and such always available even if you are "only" staying in a 2BR this trip....

Consider giving us other special perks equal to other "crazy" people who spend way to much with the mouse. Not saying this exists but I could see them following other parks and having a special entrance during peak times for "platinum" level D23, Club 33, DCL Plat, etc.... Put DVC "Platinum" into that grouping if that ever happens.

Match our discounts to the highest level allowed MK guests (at DLR) or AP holders at (WDW). To go along with this, follow the marketing gurus at Amex (and now other cards) and give us a physical "DVC Platinum" card with a barcode on it and a RFID chip that has all the functions of a MB+ where we can link it to our accounts and use it for park entrance, LL scans, door key, etc. It will make us crazy people feel special and also spark conversation and help create FOMO for those on the edge of madness.....

TLDR - not a lot of advantage over other DVC owners for the core product/perks but let us fight with the other perks/programs and make DVC ownership at higher tiers crossover with other "high tier" Disney people as those likely come down the line in the future.....

As someone who has both direct and resale points, I vote no. My annual dues are no less for the direct points. Since the perks come and go, in my mind, they are tied to the annual dues.

I think when or maybe how often someone purchased would play a larger roll than people think.

Family A bought 1000 points at OKW in 1992 but hasn't purchased any direct points since.
Family B makes their first purchase in 2025 for a 150 point CFW contract.

Should they really offer more to someone who hasn't made a direct purchase in 33 years?
What if that person who purchased 33 years ago is renting 850 points and using 150 points each year?

They certainly can, and there is an argument that it is appropriate to do so. When someone bought arguably matters less than what someone bought.

That's a separate question. Timeshare loyalty programs are about selling points, not using them.

Could image if DVC started requiring "minimum" number of days per stay, what it would do to all those people with 25-50 point contracts?

That would never happen, it would kill the local Florida market that drives in for weekends. They would destroy the incentive to purchase for the most frequent visitors to the park.

Happy owners, even those who purchased 30 years ago, likely are the best marketing platform/engine for DVC. I'm sure guides love having people visit them who have gotten hyped up by friends/family telling them how awesome it's to be an owner.

Look, I'm still getting all of these perks and free stuff 30 years after I purchased......

I know I've had a few discussions while making our way though the line for peter pan when people ask us what is that vacation club thing on your backpack at DLR. I always tell them if they have the money it's a great (but a bit pricy) way to get regular hits of pixie dust.

I'm new to DVC - what's the path to the 'perks and free stuff'. Do you just go talk to the DVC booths and say "hey I'm DVC, got any swag?"

A couple times, I got a push notification to stop by the information center to pick up a gift. They ask for my digital member card when I get there. I know some people go to the sales center and ask for swag.
