I made these shirts for our trip in 2006, I believe. I swore I'd never do them again (I hate the sewing part!), but I'm starting to get the urge to make more! (the last few trips I just did regular old tie-dyes, with no mickeys) What's the fabric resist for? I was pretty happy with how mine came out last time, but but I always like a good tip to make things easier! Where does everyone buy their dyes? They used to sell the powdered dyes at AC Moore, but I can't find them any more. Is there a good online source for the Dharma dyes?
How long will the dye stay good? I made some a couple of weeks ago. We wanted to make another set of just red and black. I had some red. Will I need to buy more? I probably won't do them until next weekend. If it matters I had tulip dye. thanks.

I used turquoise, bright green and navy blue.
Urea is "organic oxygen", you mix it with the water you are going to use to mix with the dye.
I'm going to try and make these, but have a couple of questions (please forgive me if they have been asked already).
I cannot find any kits that have soda ash in them. Do you have to have the soda ash? If so, where can I find it? The ones I have seen say no soaking required.
Also, do the shirts need to be wet when you add the dye? I think I read somewhere after you soak them in soda ash, then you dye them but what if you don't use the soda ash?![]()
Hi there,
Yes the bun is the spiralthe tube is the bulls eye and it doesn't look as pretty like the spiral, well I like the spiral better.
You need to squeeze between the fold really good to get more color and less white, haha i know the hardest part is the waitingthe twist is the spiral.
Well I use black like any other color, making sure that it doesn't go to the other color, but its cool, black is not so 'bad' depending on the brand is the shade, if you are using the tulip those are great but use less water for a darker shade, dharma's I use new black.Don't worry, you can ask me all you need to know.
