Tickets from AAA

Does anyone know if you purchase tickets from AAA before you leave for WDW, when are the tickets activated? The first time you use them? I think if you buy the new MYW passes at WDW, they are only good for 14 days from the date of purchase unless you get the "do not expire" option. This cannot be true for tickets purchased in advance either from Disney or AAA, can it? My friend is not interested in the no expiration option, and I have an annual pass.

They expire 14 days from 1st use at the parks. So if you buy them now and don't use it till October 1st - you would have 14 days from October 1st to use them not from today.
