Hello,
Trying to figure out the best way to purchase some resident AP's. I am a Florida resident and so is my daughter. She has 2 children and I am going to purchase AP's for them.
Background, my DH and I will most likely be the only ones who will take them. Should I purchase via daughter's account (then add to my MDE) to keep them in their family or should/could I buy on my account? I would RATHER buy on my account but if that is an issue then I won't. We can both be verified as residents online so that's not an issue. I just don't want to get flagged down the road....

I want to make accessing their AP's on my phone at the parks, LL's, ADR's, Room reservations etc easier.

Any input greatly appreciated!!
Thank you
Do your grandchildren already have profiles within a My Disney Experience account? If you and your daughter are both linked and both eligible for the FL-resident discount it doesn't matter who purchases the passes. Just ensure the profiles for the children are shared between both of you so you're "planning together" and then assign the passes to the grandchildren when you purchase them on the website.

Whomever initially created the profiles for the children manages them as guests and can create the MagicMobile pass and then share it from the wallet app to another person so you can both access the tickets through your phones.

I’m not sure if I will need a 4 day ticket, or 5 days. If I purchase a 4 day ticket, can I add a day before I’ve left the park on the 4th day?

We will be at DW in September for a week, we plan on going to MK the evening of the day we arrive, 2 MNSSHP parties and two days at Epcot for the F&W Festival. We plan on doing Epcot on day 2 and day 6, 3 day tickets are only good for a 5 day window. Looks like my only option is to buy a 2 day and a 1 day ticket for each of us. Am I missing anything or is this the only solution?
Thanks

Some options that may or may not work for you:

1. Adjust your plans to have your park days within a 5-day window
2. Buy 2-day plus 1-day tickets — be sure to play with the pricing to get the best option
3. Are you staying onsite? If so book a package with tickets, which makes them valid for length of stay
4. Check pricing to add PH+ to a 3-day ticket, it might be less than a 2+1 and the PH+ extends the use-window by one day. I’m assuming you are planning base 1-park-per-day) tickets; if buying PH adding the “plus” option should be the cheapest option.

Trip with DD the end of September. She has an AP and is concerned about the changes to the reservation system. If she has a reservation for another park, can we then hop to MK that evening? Or is hopping to MK not currently allowed. My plan is to go to a different park during the day & hop to MK for parade & fireworks on non-party nights. If she can’t do that, I will have to rework the whole trip!

She can still hop, just has to make sure to check into that first park. Disney can close the ability to park hop but I doubt Sept crowds are going to warrant that.

Wasn't the AP renewal discount up to 15%? I'm seeing flat rate renewal discounts of $70-$250 depending on pass type on the website here. Slightly better for my incredipass so I'm not complaining (and "save up to $250 renewing today" is much more marketable than "save up to 15%") just wondering if anyone noticed when this changed?

Looking to buy a ticket and apply it to an AP renewal, is that still working? I think I did this last year. Page 1 still shows it as an option but I wanted to check to make certain.

My renewal window opens mid-trip, if I link the ticket to my MDE will it potential use the ticket instead of my AP when I enter the parks?

I can report we have 100% had this happen.
We had it fixed/corrected but it took a visit to GS to do it.
When I asked why the AP would not automatically be the ticket used when the AP is valid (as in not in block out) the GS agent told me that sometimes people may prefer to use their ticket over their AP. Well, we all know that makes zero sense so whatever. Bottom line, don't assume any.thing.

Oh, and those looking for a new AP don't miss the gc deal announced today here
I tried to look at the details and kept getting a popup asking whether I wanted to see the Florida Resident deals. I'm not a Florida resident, so I clicked No but could never get past the popup. Is the GC restricted to Florida residents? Is there an end date for the offer? We would want DVC Sorcerer APs, $75 GC was what I could see behind the popup.

The GC offer for new APs is available to everyone.

I encountered the same error but the terms don’t say anything about it being restricted. We won’t have absolutely confirmation of course until someone outside of FL makes a purchase.

Definitely not linking it then!

I just upgraded our hoppers to DVC Sorcerer APs and can confirm that ticket upgrades are eligible for the GCs and also that this offer is not restricted to Florida residents. Yay!

Answering my own q, the 15% has been an approximate thing with a flat rate being the actual discount. Found an old article on it.

I have some family members that were going to Disney with us. Now they are saying they may not be able to afford it. I already bought MVMCP tickets. They don’t know because it was going to be a surprise ugh. If they don’t go can I get a credit to put towards the dining plan for the rest of us ?
