No. While you are correct about "bridging" the discount is still retained when purchasing a ticket from an authorized reseller. The credit given towards upgrade will be the WDW online price of the same ticket on the same date you make your purchase from the reseller. So if the reseller's ticket saves you $50, you'll retain that $50 savings. There is no "bridging" to current gate price.

You can save as much as a reseller is offering for a discount. Often that's on the 10-day PH tickets but check all prices because occasionally it's a better savings on a shorter ticket. Be sure to look up the WDW price at the time you purchase and make note because that will be your credit towards the AP upgrade.
Thanks for the correction.

I don't think you need to purchase tickets for the kids free dining. I believe all you have to do is book a room as a package (it can be a ticketless package or even a bounceback) and pay the full price for the DDP for anyone over 10 in the room. All guests staying in the room have to be on the dining plan. But it doesn't say that you have to buy tickets. You would need a ticket to dine in a park restaurant. Definitely check, but that is how I interpreted the information/offer.
@lanejudy is this correct? My understanding is that in order to be eligible to purchase the DDP, guests must purchase a room plus ticket package.

I just attempted to book a room without tickets and was prohibited from purchasing the DDP.

Per OP’s request,
Any thoughts on a possible extension of the current three-day ticket (No MK) into February 2026? Holding off to buy tickets but want to take advantage of kids free dining and ticket purchase is required before you add that on. Thanks!
I feel they are correct and will need to purchase some sort of ticket to qualify for kids free dining once they purchase the DDP for adult(s) on booking.

We have some old WDW Tickets that have no expiration as well as Park Hopper, Water Parks, etc.... They are on-line and in profiles. We are heading down and want to buy new tix and use them, not the old ones. Is there a way we can accomplish this. We will not be park hopping or doing the waterparks so don't want the "waste" the old ones. TIA

Yes but you will need to stop by Guest Services, and have your new tickets prioritized first. When you acutally tap into a park, I would also advice you to stop at GS within the park to confirm that your new tickets were used for entry.

Do those old tickets have a transfer button, so that you could transfer them to someone else? If they do, you could make a dummy profile..for example.. use your middle name. Then transfer all the park hopper tickets to that profile. Then buy your new tickets & assign to each person normally. Leave the old park hoppers in that dummy profile until you’re ready to use them. Transfer them back to each person when you want to use them. This will save a trip to Guest Services to,prioritize tickets.

I did that with some old AP vouchers until I was ready to use them. I had an issue in May & guest services had to reenter some park hoppers into my MDE account. They suggested using a dummy profile so they didn’t get used accidentally. The CM thought it was great I already had the dummy profile in my account & easily put the ticket in that profile. I can transfer the tickets back to us when we’re ready to use them.
