Yes you can upgrade but you have to call or do it in person. Disney knows what tickets are done through UT. You will pay the difference between the ticket from UT and annual pass.

I'm sorry but that is not correct. If that happened to you, the CM was poorly trained. The credit value is the price WDW sold the same ticket on the date the UT ticket was bought. Not necessarily the cost if you look it up today, because if there has been any price adjustment since the UT ticket was bought it will not "bridge" to current pricing. But the original savings will be retained. So if you originally saved $25 per ticket, the credit towards upgrade should be $25 more than what you paid to UT.

I just upgraded UT 7 day tickets I bought 2 months ago to 9 day tickets. I paid the difference from my UT cost to the new 9 day ticket. I lost any savings, sorry if I gave false info. Happy to get to go to Disney..live and learn.

Hi- quick question. I read on the third post that AP certifictes are good for activation through 2030. If I know I would like an AP for Dec 2024, does it make sense to buy one now to protect against price increases? Wasn't sure if that was a good strategy or not.

That's old information. They are now only valid for one year from date of purchase. If not activated in one year, that amount paid can be applied to a new ticket/pass purchase.

Yes, you can upgrade tickets bought from UT. Definitely once you are at WDW, and you should be able to upgrade in advance though probably only by phone.

The credit value will be equal to what WDW sold the same ticket on the date you bought your existing tickets. If recent, you can probably just go to the WDW site and check. It gets tricky if WDW has adjusted prices -- like Dec. 2022 there was a price adjustment, and it's possible prices increased on certain 2023 dates when the 2024 tickets were released a couple of weeks ago (though I haven't read reports of any particularly noticeable increases like that).

Similarly, can I upgrade a three-day park hopper purchased from UT to a four-day hopper in advance? Trying to do so in MDE gets me an error every time. Wondering if I should start with asking UT to change, or go straight to Disney. Thank you!

You probably need to call WDW to upgrade. I also think it's possible to do through UT, but be sure to find out if there is any fee involved.

Can someone tell me where I can find the DVC AP prices for both renewal and new AP's? We were due for renewal the end of May and we may come back to WDW in October...definitely May 2024. Just hate to get them and not use them for 5 months or even a year.

NEW:
Incredi-Pass (no blackout dates): $1399 plus 6.5% FL sales tax.
Sorcerer Pass (some blackout dates): $969 plus 6.5% FL sales tax.

Renewals are approx. 15% less.

You can purchase new passes online at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passes/
DVC Passes can only be renewed by call DVC Member Services.

I purchased 6 day park hoppers from UT and was wondering if I am able to upgrade them into an annual pass? Also, if upgrading is possible, how do I know how much much credit I would get for the tickets when upgrading?

Thanks in advance for your help! 😊
We did this with 10 day tickets bought from UT while we were there in May. This may give you kind of an idea… We paid $1602.42 for 10 day passes beginning May 1st (so probably a lower price than tickets for the summer). While there, we decided to upgrade to an annual pass. We went to guest services at the front of MK and asked how much. They told us it would be $634.24 each and wrote it down for us. We thought it over, over night, and decided to go forward. The next day at HS, we stopped by guest services and did the upgrade. They quoted us the same price. So, we ended up paying a total of $2870.90 for two passes. If we had bought them through Disney, it would have been $2979.88. We didn’t really think about the difference in price while there. Just now, in figuring it up to put on here, we see that we actually saved money by doing it this way. $108.98 saved, or $54.49 each. By reading some of the comments here, we thought we would be paying more than what it was online or at least the same. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Panicking just a little before my trip this weekend. Purchased the 4 park magic ticket but it doesn't show up on MDE. I mean in one spot it shows I have a "linked theme park admission" for each park each day but I don't see my avatar nor is a park reservation listed for any of my days. Is this ok?

I'm a little confused. Others have reported that purchasing the 4 parks/4 day ticket (Is that the ticket you purchased - 1 visit to each park?) tickets do not allow guests to mark park reservations as they are not required with that ticket type.

Which ticket type did you purchase?

Yes I purchased the 4 parks/4 day ticket. I got spooked because no reservations show up on MDE. I have a confirmation number and I bought tickets directly from Disney so I guess I'm okay. Maybe when I check in to my first park Disney will know I'm there and I can go to the other parks the next 3 days in any order that I choose. Does that sound right?

If we are hoping to upgrade our park hopper tickets to annual passes the first day we are there, will it interfere with park reservations we have already made?

Also, we have already purchased memory maker for this trip. Is there anything they could do to change it to the annual pass memory maker and adjust the price?
Thank you!

With the 4 parks/4 day tickets, no park reservations are required. You may begin to use your ticket any (valid) entry day. You will have 7 days from the first day you use your ticket. No park reservations are required for any of the parks. You may visit each park once.

Having such a ticket assigned to you will allow you to book a VQ, purchase Genie+ or ILL$.

Yes, once you enter your first park Disney will know you are there. You may exit and re-enter that park on that day. Entering your first park will start the 7 day clock.

Did you look in the Tickets & Passes section of MDE?

On the MDE website, just above your daily plans click on Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker.
In the MDE mobile app, click the menu icon (3 bars) and then Tickets and Passes.

As others have already stated, park reservations are not required for this special ticket so no indication of any park reservation will appear. Keep in mind that this particular ticket does not allow park hopping, so it's only one park per day and each day must be a different park.

I chatted with a CM (still have the chat history in my MDE app) about the 4 day/4 park ticket. We bought it not knowing if we would do annual passes this summer or when we go in November - trying to time out the best use over the next 12-18 months. At any rate, I asked the CM in the chat if we could buy the discounted summer ticket and still upgrade to the Annual Pass when we arrive and have the $399 applied to our AP purchase. I was assured in 3 different ways by asking it 3 different ways that this was ok and would be able to be done at any theme park guest services. However, I am now reading here and in a few other places across the interweb that those tickets cannot be upgraded and we would lose the $399 toward our annual pass. Can anyone confirm this or has anyone had experience upgrading yet?

Typically when those special type of tickets say they can't be upgraded, that means adding days or the park hopper feature. The purchase price typically can be used towards the purchase of an annual pass.
