Ticket question

I have a couple of questions about adding tickets to a room only reservation. My reservations are completely paid off. Normally, I get the tickets one by one before we go but this year was a bit different and I have yet to get them. I decided I am just going to call Disney and have the tickets added to my reservation and pick them up when we check in. Would this add the tickets to our room keys instead of having a seperate ticket? Also, do the tickets need to be paid in full when I call and place the order or when I arrive at Fort Wilderness? Since the entire stay is paid in full, the tickets would be the only balance due left. Also, since the reservation is for 2 weeks, I had to split it into 2. If they add the tickets to the room keys, are they on both sets???

Hope I didn't confuse anyone!! I think I just confused myself even more though!!

Can only tell you what I've done in the past. Like you, the last few trips have bought tickets locally at Disney store before our trip, but booked/paid for room. However on first trip (1998) booked room then added passes. They were on our room key/card. That has been the easiest way we've done it so far - less things to keep up with. Not sure how they would handle adding 2wks. Would it be cheaper to by annual passes when you got there? Doubt they would/could add that to your room key card. Sorry this is probably not much help.

We booked our room through renting points from a DVC member. So, we had a room only ressie. We ordered the tickets and had them available to pick up at check in. The consierge at our resort put the tickets right on our keys for us.

I would definitely get Annual Passes if you are going to be there for two weeks. Unless you are planning to do offsite stuff for a week of that time. Usually when we check in, we're asked if we need passes. I'd do it that way.

I was looking into AP's but seeing how there are 5 of us............it is much more economical to get the 10 day hoppers. Seeing how we're doing it "so big" this year, I highly doubt we'll be there before 2007. I think the 10 days will give up plenty of park time so we don't feel the need to rush through to be sure we get everything in. I promised DH I wouldn't do Disney "commando-style" this year....

If on some days you go into just waterparks, you may find that a ten day expiring pass with Water Park Fun & More ($308. w/hopping) is enough for 11 or 12 days, all 14 consecutive days of its lifetime if you really plan where you will go and when.

(You don't need non-expiration if you will use up the whole pass in one sitting.)

You can buy two 10 day base level passes for less than the cost of one annual pass, but once you add hopping, you cannot buy more than 12 days of theme park admission (gate price) without exceeding the cost of an annual pass.

I am also debating getting AP's. My DD and I will be going for 8 nights in January and again the end of May or early June to meet friends for another 7-8 nights. I figure it will save about $100.00 on tickets alone, but I'm most interested in the room discounts. Everyone on the board has noted they get really good to CRAZY good rates, but I've not seen a $$ amount. This could make a difference where we stay (if the discounts are really good may move to a moderate). Can anyone tell me how much they've saved on rooms?

When you call, tell them you would like "They Key to the World" for your tickets. This will place your room keys and park passes on one hard ticket.
They can do this for a split stay. Your passes will be given at check-in to each room.

You may be able to have the passes you buy anywhere coded into your room keys.
If I was going for 2 weeks, I'd buy the 10 day non expiring with park hopping. I have a link for the cheapest place to buy them online if you want it, pm me.
You'll actually get 10 major park days and 5 minor park days.
When we went for two weeks, we did a major park every other day, stayed at the resort a few days and went to the water parks a few days. We left with 3 major park days and 1 minor park day left on the passes. Everyone got their fill and we went on another trip a few years later with the unused days. Although the initial outlay of cash is a killer, the price breakdown is amazing. We can't go to a Six Flags that cheap.
