Our family, DH, myself, DD (17) will be at Disney from Feb. 17-Mar. 7, for a total of 17 days. We will have 10-day base tickets and might add on the water parks and more (depending on weather). My question is … if we didn’t activate our MYW tickets until day 4 of our vacation (days 1-3 would be non-park days) could we purchase and use a single water park ticket on say day 2 and then later upgrade our MYW tickets with the water park and more by only paying the difference ($6-$7) after we have activated our base tickets? (I hope I am making myself clear) :confused3:confused3

I don't think so...

From the ticket sticky:

Note that any upgrade requires a cash (or cash equivalent) payment and can only be done on a one to one basis. You cannot combine the value of more than one ticket. In other words, if you had a six day base ticket and a one day base, you could not add the value of both to end up with an AP, even with additional payment.

The part that would probably block you is the part about not being able to combine 2 tickets...

I agree that Cheshire Figment wrote you could convert a one-day Water Park ticket to WPF&M option on a MYW ticket by paying the difference. However, I remember there was a time constraint involved in doing this. Unfortunately, our friend Cheshire Figment has not been active on the boards for six months.

OP: I would ask about this at the Water Park ticket booth, to make sure you understand the procedure and timeframe to get it done. If you have to do something as early as that same day, be prepared by having your MagicBands or RFID ticket cards with you. MYW tickets are active to begin with. You don't do anything to activate them. In your situation, your MYW tickets are unused at the time of your Water Park visit.

I guess the other complication you need to be aware of is, when will the 14-day clock start ticking on your MYW tickets? You don't want your tickets to expire before the end of your vacation!

No timeframe other than the standard "14 days after first use."
The procedure is to take the WP ticket (now used) and the MYW ticket (or MagicBand) to any ticket booth or Guest Relations
and ask that the MYW ticket be upgraded to include the Water Parks Fun and More options.

You will then have the same number of WPF&M options available as your original MYW ticket had "days" (minus the one WPF&M option that you have already used via the first stand-alone ticket.)

But wouldn't the 14 day clock start ticking from the day that the waterpark ticket was actually used?

Cheshire Figment used to say that you can in fact do this.

Thank you for the link joe1946. I thought I had read this but had been unable to find it on the ticket sticky.

Glad to hear this Robo. Happy to hear that I have 14 days from first use to upgrade my ticket.

To be safer, that's what I'd go by.

And, from the original question...

if we didn’t activate our MYW tickets until day 4 of our vacation (days 1-3 would be non-park days) could we purchase and use a single water park ticket on say day 2 and then later upgrade our MYW tickets with the water park and more by only paying the difference ($6-$7) after we have activated our base tickets?

TinkFan looks to be planning to be well within that timeframe when doing the upgrade.

So that will leave them with 2 days at the end of the trip without tickets. I think they may have been trying to squeeze a couple of extra days out.

TinkFan625, It would just be easier to upgrade your tickets when you go to the water park.
