Ticket Question

Hello! Hoping someone can answer this for me. We are going to Disney in 2 weeks :banana::banana: We are staying 7 days, but orginally booked 8 days. When Disney changed the package, they changed the number of days for the hotel, but not the tickets. Oops. I caught it today and it was too late to take them off without incurring a charge. So Disney made our tickets "no expiration". :yay::yay::yay: Which thrills me. :yay::yay::yay:

Question is this: I know it is minimal cost to add days to an 8 day ticket, much more so than the outright cost of new tickets. BUT, can I do that? When we get to Disney can I add days (like 6 more days) so that on our next trip we only have to book a room? That would be such a budget saver. Especially since this trip is for our oldest's 8th birthday, I know the youngest will want to know if we can go for her birthday, too. Thank you for your insight!

I'm not sure if you can do it or not, but I know that the most days you would be able to add is 2 - to make it 10 days. That is the maximum amount of days you can purchase for a ticket.

I'm sure others will be along to let you know if you can actually do it since it was added by Disney.

PP is correct. You will only be able to add 2 more days to an 8 day ticket.

But something that you may not know is that you would also have to pay the difference in price between an 8 day no expiration ticket and a 10 day no expiration ticket. That's about $49 per ticket right now. Certainly cheaper than buying a 2 day ticket later but not a smart buy if you're going to need more than 2 days on your next trip.

If you are going to make it no-expiration PLEASE don't do it with only one day left on the tickets. To upgrade an 8 day base ticket to non-expiring, it costs approx. $190. To buy a 1 day ticket (if you only have one day left on it to use later) - it would only costs $90. To upgrade to 10 day ticket and then pay non-expiring - it costs approx. $260 (on top of cost of base 8 day ticket). To buy a 3 day base ticket it costs $247. So might not be worth it unless you were planning using all 3 days of the non-expiring on 3 different trips for one day at a time.

IMO, to upgrade to non-expiring it usually doesn't make financial sense unless you can use it for at least 3 trips.

You should be able to DOWNGRADE your 8 day ticket to a 7 day when you are there...And get back $8. However, I'm not sure if you are able to downgrade your ticket to EXPIRING instead of NON-EXPIRING to get back that money.

The CM should have suggested not doing this, I would think. Unless I'm not understanding something or getting my numbers wrong.

I'm a little confused on whether it was their error and they changed the tickets to non-expiry at no extra charge, or whether you paid for the non-expiry feature. If the add-on was comped because of a booking error, I would say to definitely add the two more days to the tickets.

We will be spending Spring break in Orlando and doing only one Disney day on old non-expiry tickets. We have annual passes to Busch Gardens and Sea World, but I'm glad to have the Disney option without it being a huge cost.

If they are comping the $195 to make the eight day into No Expire, then it is worth spending the $46 (plus tax) to upgrade to a ten-day NE. At the end of the trip you will have a three day ticket available.

Also, if you do water parks or DQ at all I would suggest spending the extra $55 to get the WPF&M added to each ticket; the Fun visits remain valid until they are all used up, even if the major park entries have all been used previously.

Defiantly add the water parks and more option... That will give you 10 water park admissions that don't expire too! Totally worth the extra cost if Disney is footing the bill for no experation tickets.
