Ticket Question

It was just decided last night, that some friends are coming to DisneyWorld, while we are there. They want to just buy a 1-day ticket. here's my question, can you leave and renter the park. They just want to to go Epcot, can you get your hand stamped or how does that work? Also, the day they are looking at is a extended hour night. Are they eligible to stay in the park late? They are staying one night at Pop.

Since they are staying at a Resort, they are eligible for EMH (early or late). You're eligible for EMH (and "free" parking) from the time you check in until closing time the day of checkout.

Not sure about re-entry, since our only one day experiences we stayed in the park the whole time.

With a basic one day pass, you can enter/leave/re enter the same park as many times as you like on that one day. They no longer stamp your hand. With the finger scan they do when you first enter, they associate the ticket with the person, so you don't need a stamp to prove you were the person in the park the first time with the ticket.
