Ticket Prices Increasing June 12th!

Can someone help me figure out the best bang for our buck. I am trying to figure out 2 adults.
We are going Sept. 22-30th
Nov. 26-Dec. 3
April 2012 4-5 nights.

I know we need to get an AP which we will get in September but I'm not sure what to put on our package for then. Right now we have free dining with 2 day base ticket. Is that still the way to go with the increase or should we add a 10 day hopper bc after I use it for 1 day it will make more of a difference? I have one more hour to call and modify!

Anyone having trouble booking tickets online. I keep getting an error message. What time do the tickets go up?

:) It was working for me about 30 minutes ago when I got 2 tickets. Sometimes if you are logged into too many Disney sites it screws things up. Maybe people are clogging the system. Just make sure the the Disney site is the only thing you are logged into and see if that helps. I saved my Mom and Dad $40 for our Oct trip. Thank you DIS !!!:thumbsup2

I've even restarted my computer...sigh. Will take a break and try again.

Well blimey...I didn't notice that! $35 now for PH on a 1-day ticket! I would assume, however, that if you wanted to add days afterwards, you'd also have to pay the extra $20 to bridge the cost of park hopping...[/QUOTE]

This is perfect for us because we're only going to the parks for one day at the end of August! So yippee! :yay:

Does anyone have a rough idea of how long Undercover Tourist will continue offering the "old" ticket prices? I cannot order my ticket until Tuesday, unfortunately, and was wondering about the chances of, say, a 3-day base ticket still being available at the old price.

Well, anyone in Canada trying to use mastercard, call them. They had blocked my card because they thought someone in Disneyland was trying to use my card and I hadn't told them I was going on vacation! Wish I'd called them 2 hours ago.

Anyway, I've got my 6 day Disneyland tickets and my 6 days disneyworld tickets. Yippee!

Thanks for all the help.

They were really nice at m/c and apologized and fixed it right away. Since my card has been frauded twice, they're just trying to protect me.

Next time I'll check right away.

No way to tell - it should depend on how long their inventory of old price tickets holds out. But they may run out of one or two types of tickets long before they run out of another - depending on the popularity. With so many people wanting the longer length tickets, I would guess those will run out first. If they are anything like the company I used to work for, they will have a reasonable supply of tickets on hand, but not an extraordinary amount since this increase was pretty much a surprise to everyone.

So I wouldn't hesitate any longer than you absolutely have to, or you stand the chance of losing out.

you could send them an email and ask.

when i ordered my motherland tickets last night, i noticed that you can contact them by email.

from what i have read on the dis, UT does respond quickly to the sender.

in the past years, there have been threads that posters state they were able to buy the tickets at the 'old price' due to surplus in UT inventory.
i hope that is the same way for you since you can't buy until tuesday!

i spent $847 on passes last night.
still unable to find those passes and package tickets on the room keys that i bought a few years back.

Ugh! I hate decisions. I am trying to decide if I want to purchase UT tickets (assuming a 7 day PH, no expiration) and then upgrade those to an AP in Feb. when we go or I can just wait until my current AP expires and renew in Sept. with the renewal price. It looks like I would only save about $30 over renewing in Sept (since you get a renewal discount of nearly $50) but then Disney has my money and I have no plans of going from Sept to Feb. (* I think, but I do hear the Halloween parade calling :lmao:).

What to do, what to do...anyone in my boat?

I know this doesn't help those who have lost or misplaced old tickets with park days still on them ... but take photos of the info side of your tickets. You're less likely to lose a photo. Disney can replace tickets using the numbers and barcodes on there. I lost a 10-day NE PH in the park earlier this year, but City Hall was able to replace the ticket. *phew* (Not sure that works if your tickets are on your room key ...)

Now back to our regularly scheduled discussion ;)

that is a great suggestion and one i have practiced.

but, i can't find that photocopy of the passes with the barcodes.....:rotfl:

i'm so blonde at times i kill myself.

To expand on it (and help prevent those blonde moments):

- E-mail a copy of the scan to yourself. That way you can call it back up if you don't have the scan

- Keep a copy of the scan with your itinerary, but SEPARATE from your tickets. Say, with your plane itinerary. Also put a copy in your checked luggage.

- If you have a smartphone, take a clear picture with that, or if you are savvy, put a copy of the scan on there. Or even record all the ticket info in a notepad app in the phone - even older phones tended to have that. More tedious to enter, but it is still another copy that is harder to lose.

- Don't know if using a barcode scanner on a smartphone works - it can certainly be decoded, but it is not just a barcode of the ticket ID info but a longish string. It may be another ID string that could be useful to the CM though (CF?)

I'm planning a solo birthday trip in the fall. Will the resorts be affected by the price hike?

They show resort prices in the link in the blog - I am not sure if they are higher or not though.

Thinking about getting tickets from UT while they still have the less expensive tickets. However, I was holding out for a deal, like free dining, wich would require me to purchase tickets with the package. SO, am I reading their policy correctly that non used non signed tickets are fully refundable minus a 5% service charge? Is there a time limit to the refund, 30 days from purchase, etc?

Thanks to anyone who can help

I would NOT renew an AP in September if you aren't going again until February.

My AP expired May 1st, and my next trip is at the end of October. I will use an 8-day hopper that I purchased from UT 3 price increases ago to upgrade to a new AP. The new gate price is $69.50 more than I paid for the ticket.

Since ticket prices always go up, I would save any tickets from UT for a future trip. Or - use your UT tickets for the trip, and save the tickets you have to buy for the package - buying only the minimum number of days.
