Did the park hopper option used to be $50? So it increased to $75 apparently? I'm glad i bought yesterday, saved about $130 (I think) if i compare buying the tix from disney direct. My math may be a little fuzzy though as I'm doing mental math from memory at 5 am :confused3:goodvibes

I thought it was $65/per ticket from what I remember from our trip last year, however I'm no ticket expert and don't even have a great memory. I was just saving up for hoppers specifically last time and that number sticks out...either way, definitely seems to have gone up...

I have a package booked for May. This morning when I went to add on the PH option, it shows the same price it has been showing me the entire time which is 220.47 for 3 adult tickets, $73.49/ticket. It is also still letting me have the option of adding WP without the PH.
May be because the package is already booked.

Definitely THAT is the reason.
Once a package deal is arranged and booked (even if not paid) the deal
remains locked (unless a major change is made by the guest.)

For 3 adults, 2 kids, the 5 day MYW tickets increased about $165 with taxes.

My math is bad - but thats close to 10% increase.

From 1760 to 1927.

Yes, the increase for us was 10% as well. Works out to $200 increase for our family of 4 (with canadian exchange)

Just checked
I saved $177 yesterday
5 day ticket no park hopper
2 adult
2 children

Wow! Glad I checked my mouses mousesavers email yesterday
That's crazy!

Park Hoppers last year depended on the number of days on the pass. From 1 to 3 days, the park hopper option was about $58, 4 days and up was $74. Looks like the park hopper option on a 4 to 10 day ticket went up to around $80, so roughly a $6 increase. $80 for the park hopper option, that's up there!

I usually purchase the 6 day park hopper. Prior to today's increase, the price was $451.56, today's price is $495.23. That's a $44 increase. Wow - almost $500 a ticket for a 6 day pass. Disney must be trying to pay off the Avatar expansion at AK quickly.

Yup, and that's easy for you to say isn't it? That $5.50 per day, multiplied by 6 days, by four people, with tax added onto it and then Canadian exchange, becomes a $200 difference. When your trip is budgeted down the penny, that's a big deal. Also, when you do the math and realize that it's roughly a 10% increase, that also puts it a bit into perspective. A 10% increase, is a big increase.

It's not just easy for me to say.
It's the truth.
What did I do that you try to make me sound like I'm some kind of rich guy who couldn't care less about price increases?

My point is to NOT multiply it by anything (which, naturally, makes it look very hgh.)
My point was to whittle it down to the basic, per day, per person cost.
It's easier to get a real-world handle on what the cost actually looks like in a practical sense.

I wish Disney would lower their prices.
But, they didn't.
So here we all are.

I saved $97 or $98 it seems buying from parksavers yesterday. A 7 day child's park hopper with 3 of the days 'free'

I bought 2 10 day hoppers yesterday from OTC for $903 (one adult, one child). I priced it today on MDE, and the cost came to $1,075.66 after tax. Savings of $172.66 by purchasing yesterday from OTC vs. Disney today...

My point is to NOT multiply it by anything (which makes it look worse.)

But that per day cost, really isn't the one that matters. It's the cumulative total that matters. And that cumulative total is a $200 (10%) increase. Which is a big increase. Trying to whittle it down really doesn't change that, so it's pretty pointless to do so.

Thanks! So either way I was way off, lol. For some reason, I thought it was a flat amount no matter how many days, but again the aforementioned bad memory. I think all of our trips were in the 4 - 10 range...

So disappointed. We were up debating the AP/no AP issue until 11:55 last night and we finally decided to take the plunge. When we did and logged on, the site was down and when it came back up, the APs were up $30/day, and we need two. Add to that, we were expecting the 13 month deal that friends/family assured us of to make it for or trip this year and our honeymoon next year. Apparently that deal is over too.
Just a fail all around. :guilty:

Some families are smaller.
Some families are larger.
Everything costs more for a larger family.

One way to discuss real cost is to break it all down.
If that's not your style, I'm sorry I bothered you.

I have a 10 day PH as part of a package... which I plan to upgrade to an AP. Looks like the ticket went to $48 or $49 but the AP only went up $30... so it will actually cost less to upgrade than anticipated? Woohoo!
