ticket for child who turns 3?

I've read some info on this at one point, but can't find the information I'm wanting now. If my child is 2 on arrival and turns 3 during our trip do they need a ticket to the parks? Thanks.

No ticket neede as long as the child is 2 upon check-in.

I dont think where you are staying matters but I am not sure if it works the same way airlines do it and that is if the child turns two (in your case 3) on the trip at any point then you must have a ticket for them. I will look on their website but it might be the same. Over on the DLR board a parent once mentioned that a CM at the gate directly asked the child how old they were to see if they needed a ticket.

OP is right about the plane ticket...or at least that was my experience. My DS traveled to meet us in the US when I was having DD. He was 2 and was a lap child with my parents, but turned 3 when in the US and we had to have a ticket for him to fly back to the Bahamas with us.
You may want to bring a copy of the birth certificate incase anyone asks. I assume that you are buying tickets for the days at one time...then I don't think it matters that she turns 3.

My DD turned 3 during our last trip. I had asked when booking the trip and I was told that she didn't need a ticket (granted this was with AAA). I was never once asked her age by CM at the gates when entering the parks.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it and would only buy a ticket if they make me.

The rule is as a pp stated -Disney considers your child to be the age they were on the day they arrived. So, if on day 1, they are 2, even on day 10, in Disney's eyes, your child is still 2, even if they ACTUALLY turned 3. Therefore, no need for a ticket. Doesn't matter if you're off property or on property.
