Now that there has been a lot of discussion about the recent Disney DVC ticket discount survey and you've had a chance to reflect on it, I'd like to hear your prediction. What do you REALLY think Disney will offer DVCers in the way of pass discounts.

Will Disney begin to send the DVCer cash cow treatment to pasture...or not?

I think we'll be offered APs, because that's the pass most likely to bring us back for the largest number of days.

I went with 15% but now that I said that I bet it will end up being 5% off A/P and P/AP's.

Either way let's hope they do go down this road. It would be something positive for all of us.

I believe that the only discounts, much to my dismay, will be on AP/PAP and the UHP. Disney will want to encourage people to go to the parks every day they are at WDW.

Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I think they just might give the 25% on both the hoppers and the 2 AP types. I don't think that they'll up the discount on the the LOS pass.

I'm hoping for the 25% on AP's but I think a 15% is more likely.

I think we should pay the same as Florida residents for AP's. We do have a deed after all for property in Florida.

Okay, so maybe I am living in a dream world (or wish I was) but, I think that we will get a 25% discount on AP's and PAP's. Fist off, I just don't think they would have asked us only to disappoint us. Second I think they realize that DVCers have been going to WDW for awhile now and are starting to go other places, if they give us a good discount on AP/PHP's we will be more likely to stay in WDW and spend our money there and Third, I think this new management at DVC is going to be a good one!

My guess on AP's is 5% with just a slight chance of upwards to 10%. Just speculation based on the way things have gone over the past several years.

I am figuring it will be a 10% discount on PHP's if they offer one at all.

I think both the 15% or 25% for AP are likely. However I voted for the 15%. My way of not getting disappointed!

I am not counting on Disney to give us anything (no matter how much it would benefit both Disney and me). I voted 0% this survey was just for "appearances" and was so surprised that so many people voted like me. Pretty sad, huh? :(

I don't think they will offer more than a 10% ticket discount. Whcih wouldn't make much difference to me.

I voted 15% on AP. That would probably entice me to get AP. Another possibility is a discount on PHP like the ones they sell to Floridians. Those passes save almost 50%! Wishful thinking, huh?

Well, I believe in the Power::yes:: of my positive thinking:bounce:

Therefore, I voted for 25% discount across the board of ticket types. It never pays to wish for less than you want:sunny:

::yes:: I agree with our friend out in Ecotopia (Pacific NW). I bet they go for 10% on APs, same as the renewal benefit. Either that or a bigger UPH discount. My guess is that they are trying to keep us on property a little more, and any type of AP discount will do just that for us!

Well, I believe being a captive audience, disney will not give an penny. I voted 0%. If you think about it, there is NO incentive for them to give us anything. We already own points, what else will we do with them. I for one wouldn't waste them on an exchange. I have two other timeshares for that. As far as incentives for purchasing, it doesn't appear they are having difficulty selling points. One can hope that the magic dust of the Pixie Fairy decends upon DVC'ers, but I think it will just blow in the wind.

I have often thought about it and I disagree with your logic/conclusion

IMHO the very fact they are asking means Disney is aware they are ( or potentially are) losing revenue. It's easy for them to track spending habits and I think someone has (eventually ) noticed that they are not getting as much spent on park tickets as they expect, from such a large captive audience.

I voted for 15% but I think they may well go for 20%. IMHO it very much depends on how the poll goes. I am certain the fact they asked about both 15 and 25% discounts means they are aware of roughly where the "critical" level is likely to be. They are trying to judge at what level they lose the least in existing sales while gaining the maximum in extra take up. If Disney thought they could make a serious impact with a lower discount the poll would have been set to have either 5% and 15% as the figures or 10 and 20% .

The way the question is phrased often leads one to the thinking of those setting the question.
