Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I'm visiting my sister right now. Her apartment is over a garage for large maintenance trucks and such, so we are pretty high up in the air (36 steps up from ground level). She has a lovely deck with a spectacular view, and it was in the 60s yesterday... in Maine, in December! We enjoyed wine outside on the deck in the afternoon. We've spent many lovely times on her deck, looking at the pond, woods, and animals, but to do so in December was a special treat!

The Rocky Mountains. DH went to school in Colorado and living in the mountains was life-changing for him. I am an east coast ocean girl, but we've had some wonderful vacations exploring the area where he went to school and the mountains of the Continental Divide. Truly spectacular!

My pebbles. Yes, they are just pebbles, but one of DD's friends brought them back to me when she climbed Mt. Everest. Yes, I have Everest Base Camp in my living room! I am humbled by having these pebbles. The majesty and mystery of the Himalayas overwhelms me.

The tall tree in the AKL lobby the year we were in Disney at Christmastime.

The tall buildings in Boston - I enjoy living near a city for all the resources it offers.

And the hills where I grew up. - Not as talk as actual mountains, but so beautiful in the fall!

Location - I love my neighborhood I love my neighbors very sweet very nice and caring - my yard the one that tracks all the wildlife especially those nice pesky deer 🦌
It is always fun to take the dog out and play the game of what’s in the yard or how many deer are we going to deal with now🤣🦌🤣🦌🦌🤣🤣🦌🦌🦌🦌
My fireplace - since I’m always cold I enjoy my fireplace it’s gas so I don’t have to worry about wood
The best feature to me is all the storage space I have so much more cabinet space closet space full basement I mean I just have so much more storage space even though I’m getting rid of so much stuff that I’ve collected through the years it’s just nice having plenty of places to put my things that I am keeping And not feeling so cramped especially when it clothes I no longer have to switch out seasons

Good Morning!

I love our house and I loved it from the minute I stepped foot inside it 21 years ago. It’s not large, it’s not fancy, but it’s ours and I love it ❤️

#1 - I’m grateful for my houses location - at the end of a dead end with a forest as a neighbor. It’s so quiet and peaceful - it’s wonderful.

#2 - I’m grateful that our house is a quad level house - each level isn’t huge, but it’s enough that everyone can spread out.

#3 - I’m grateful that our house has a dining room - it makes hosting every holiday very nice with everyone having a seat at the dining room table. The dining room was also nice to have during COVID - it became DD’s school room. She was able to spread out her stuff, easily do her virtual classroom time and more from there. That big dining room table really helped her a lot and since no one was coming to the house - I didn’t care that it was covered with school stuff.

I'm grateful for:

Shiny ornaments - the glitter-filled ones made by DS as a child and the shiny glass hearts that are exactly like the ones my mom used to put on our tree

Shiny bows to stick on presents

Tin foil - makes cleaning up after cooking so much easier! (Both to put away leftovers and if I've lined a baking sheet for something messy)

Good Wednesday Morning!

I have to admit - I love shiny things. When I get something that’s shiny or glittery my DD20 says, “that is very Sandy like” LOL! That kid knows me to well :goodvibes

#1 - I’m grateful for my Christmas sweaters - they all have glittery & shiny parts to them. These are the only things I wear to work in December - our patients love them. I buy a new one every year.

#2 - I’m grateful for all my Mickey/Minnie ears - they all have some shiny bling to them. I especially love my 50th Anniversay ears since I bought it on the trip to celebrate my 50th birthday.

#3 - I’m grateful for all my jewelry - I love it all and I have a lot of jewelry. The majority is cheap fun jewelry, but the cost doesn’t make me love it. Some of my favorites came from the clearance jewelry at Kohls. I love to accessorize and I get a lot of compliments from people about my necklaces, bracelets and other things. Sometimes the cheapest items can look the best.

I love a shiny clean house you have to look real quick because it doesn’t stay that way very long
I love the sunshine☀️☀️
My favorite thing is my floodlight my backyard and my big heavy duty flashlight why? For when I take my dog outside so I can see those Pesky 🦌🦌🦌🦌 I know right where they’re at to see if we’re gonna have any turf wars which we usually do that’s why I need a nice bright shiny flashlight it works really well my neighbors I know right where they’re at to see if we’re gonna have any turf wars which we usually do that’s why I need a nice bright shiny flashlight it works really well my neighbors have even commented that they know when I’m potty in the dog because of my nice shiny flashlight I’m very grateful for it keep those pesky deer at bay ( not really 🤣🤣🤣) they do as they please !!!

Ooohhh, shiny things!

>>My Crocs. I have one pair that is silver glitter, and another that is gold glitter with a fuzzy lining. I wear them as much as possible and just hope they still are in stock when I wear these out.
>>Christmas lights- On my tree, on my house, in displays, on others' homes. I love Christmas lights.
>>My cubic zirconium earrings. I have two pairs of studs and two pairs of hangy-downs, as we call them. I have all kinds of earrings but I love these bright, shining baubles and wear them more than half of the time.
