Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I’m grateful if I finally got my haircut it needed it about four weeks ago so nice to have that done
I’ll be grateful when once I get my house cleaning done today and my house will be clean for 10 minutes before my cat sheds all of its hair all over the house because it noticed I vacuum its hair all over my house which he likes to do every time I vacuum so lovely game we play which makes me want to suck him up with the vacuum
I’d be very grateful we only got rain and not nasty snow !! ❄️

  • Grateful that we moved near my town's library when I was about eight.
  • Grateful for the storytimes I took DS to at the library when he was little - it's where we made our first friends in the town we now live in.
  • Grateful for school librarians everywhere!

1. Grateful for the children's section of our library with puppets, etc. So much fun for the kids when they were little!

2. Grateful for travel books that we could borrow for trip planning before everything was so accessible.

3. Grateful for all of the community activities our local library plans for the town!

3 things you're grateful for about libraries and/or books
(I'm totally cheating on this one...)
1. Libraries... I mean... just that the exist. Our local library district is just amazing, and I could never say enough good things about libraries!
2. Books
3. A class I had in high school called "The Novel." With a name like that, you'd think that it would be a lot of assigned reading. Nope. We read one assigned book together the entire semester. The rest of it was silently reading books we chose, and writing in a journal once a week about what we read. And the journal didn't have to be any certain length, or anything in depth. It was my first hour class, and nearly without fail, everyone would come straight to class when they got to school and just start reading their books. We all groaned when announcements came on, because we had to put down our books... though most of us tried to read through announcements too. It was SUCH a nice relaxing start to a stressful school day! I still miss that class. Ha!

Grateful that I live in a wonderful, friendly & fun community that enjoys celebrating together. Saturday night was the community party with White Elephant exchange, singing carols and sharing our favorite foods with each other.

Grateful that Saturday was a beautiful 65 degree day and we spent some of the afternoon on the beach (NC).

Grateful that today is a rest & recoup day with my dh and we had nothing to do and nowhere to go!

3 things you're grateful for about libraries and/or books
1. Bible - Faith is big in my family
2. Cookbooks - nice to learn some new recipes
3. Children books that I would place in my shopping cart to keep my kids entertained reading while I shopped around lol

The fact that books exist at all, and that we are free to choose what we want to read.

I love cookbooks, especially the kind that tell stories about the author's life as well as having recipes.

That the library is more than just books. Magazines, e-books, inter-library loan, tax information, computer clusters, newspapers, meeting space... and so much more.

Good Morning!

#1 - I’m grateful for having Chicago (lots & lots of tall buildings) so close to us - we’ve taken our girls to the top of the John Hancock many times. I never took them to the top of The Sears Tower because it made me nervous (still does) after 9/11. I don’t know if I’ll ever go up there again (I did go up there before 9/11).

#2 - I’m grateful for my parents taking us on family vacations to the mountains - I’d like to return on day.

#3 - I’m grateful for going on the High Roller (Ferris wheel) in Las Vegas - it’s the largest observation wheel in North America. We went on it at night and it was a spectacular view.

1. For my 30th birthday my DH got us a ride in a hot air balloon. We went during the fall when the trees were in full color here in southwestern Pennsylvania. It was stunning. I am a bit iffy on heights and don’t need to do it again, but it was a very cool and unique experience.
2. We did the tethered balloon at Disney Springs with our girls. Oldest DD is not excited about heights but did it and thought it was worth it. I loved the bird’s eye view of the world trying to spot all of the parks and all of the places we’ve stayed.
3. Skyliner—one of my favorite things at Disney. I could ride that all day.

I love mountains I think they’re beautiful but I don’t wanna go climb them but I do enjoy looking at them
I have climbed one Acadia mountain in Maine it’s beautiful
I went to the top of a glacier in Alaska got the sled dog play with puppies awesome experience I get up there via helicopter best way to do it
The mountains in Norway are beautiful but I think they are no comparison to the mountains in Alaska or Colorado just my preference but I think the United States has some of the most beautiful mountains in the world although I have not been to Switzerland and I would love to go see the mountains there is I enjoy seeing the Alps on the Tour de France
I’ve been in several tall buildings extremely tall buildings in New York in Chicago and like SLO I don’t care to be in them since 9/11
I have been on several Skyliner type rides going up mountains they were great fun I’ve enjoyed them tremendously I love the Skyliner at DISNEY and I love the ride that DISNEY used to across the park that was a Skyliner one of my fondest memories was riding that when the fireworks went off
One of my worst was watching a kid try to throw his brother out of it in front of us thank God he did not succeed! Grateful that did not happen!!
I’m very grateful for her mountains for ways to get up them for being able to see them I’m grateful for elevators I’m grateful for Skyliners I’m grateful for outdoor equipment that helps you get up mountains and safely back down them - but I’m really grateful for the beautiful views that mountains provide

3. I'm grateful for DS lol - He's 6'3" so pretty tall lol!
