Breakfast . . .

Biscuits and gravy - I prefer my homemade, but I don’t get to make it very often.

Cheesy hash brown casserole - add a little crumbled bacon on top and it’s nirvana

Scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese made into a sandwich with either bread, english muffins, or bagels

Of course You can - but it’s choc chip bagels not cookies ! We will have to makes some cookies

So jealous of all the Door Dash talk - we live in a place that Door Dash doesn't even deliver to! Probably saves me a lot of money though lol!!

Horrible habit really - I’m too lazy to go get it so if not for DoorDash sending me coupons I wouldn’t do it - but bagels did sound so tasty ! I just didn’t want to drive and get them !!

I am grateful for music in my car. I hate to drive with it quiet and concentrate much better when there is music. If I'm driving alone, I'm most likely singing along to the radio.

I am grateful to have lived in the era of "Mixtapes" and fascinated at the cyclic nature of music - even though cassettes fell out of fashion and we no longer hover by the radio with our fingers over the tape recorder buttons, personalized playlists are back again in digital form on Spotify and the like.

Another nostalgic one - I'm grateful for Schoolhouse Rock. I learned a lot from those as a kid, taught DS his times tables by playing them in the car, and more recently introduced them to my friends' little ones, who love them too.

Good Sunday Morning!

#1 - I’m grateful for music composers (like John Williams) - it’s always amazing to me how someone can write & create the soundtracks to movie’s, TV shows, Plays and more. When I hear the the theme music from certain movies, it instantly transports me back to when I saw that movie and sometimes makes me pretty emotional - especially when it’s movies my Grandma and I saw together, which were a lot of movies.

#2 - I’m grateful for hymns at church - Mass wouldn’t be the same without them. There’s something very beautiful about being part of a large group of people of all ages, men & women, singing together. Some of the hymns make me emotional too. Music is a big emotional trigger for me, probably more than anything else.

#3 - I’m grateful for days past when my DD24 would sing with the beautiful voice she has - I loved listening to her sing. When she was in 8th grade, she was the youngest cantor in our old church’s history (over 100 years). She used to sing Let it Go like she was straight out of the movie. About 8-9 years ago there was a karaoke guy outside of the Disney Store on Michigan Ave, Downtown Chicago and she sang Let it Go and you should have seen the crowd - it was amazing! The crowd cheered and asked for more - all these little girls were in the front looking at her like she was Elsa. So she sang - Do You Want To Build A Snowman - people were videoing her on their phones - it was unreal. She later performed at a dinner show and sang Let it Go there and got a standing ovation. She also would sing The National Anthem at a minor league stadium - which people loved because she sang it the way it should be sung - the normal regular way. She also did theater in high school. Sadly, she doesn’t sing anymore, which is a shame and a whole other story that I’m not getting in to. But I treasure the memories of when she did and needless to say, the song Let it Go is a big emotional trigger for me.

This reminded me of how we used to call in and request songs on the radio. For some reason, I remember this, requesting Panama from when David Lee Roth was in Van Halen. He is now 68.

I’m grateful for my Sirius so I can listen to wide variety of music - my taste in music covers everything except rap & really heavy metal - I’ve seen Country & Western stars to Rock N Roll stars and everything in between in concert - I listen to and appreciate lots of genres of music - when I’m in the office I get to be the person playing music and get to expose my two other coworkers to other music - they are both younger than me - we enjoy reggae / African / 80 / 90 / Swing / Jazz - all different kinds of music including classical and of course I play DISNEY tunes from the Parks or other Disney hits !!

I’m grateful my streaming cable offers music as I like to have that on when I’m cleaning - and I’m grateful they give me a huge selection to pick from !!

I’m most grateful when people give something different from what they listen to a chance - you never know you may like it - your not going to like all of it and that’s ok but give different music a chance some of it’s really good - unless it’s death metal - sorry that’s just nasty YMMV

Music Things:

That God has put music into my heart for as long as I can remember. I'm not talented in any form of it. I don't even read music. However, I hear sometimes hymns and other worship in my heart and mind which offer me an extra way to prasie and commune with Him. God willing, I would love to sing extra to Him with a church choir again one day.

Dad enjoys classical music and is very knowledgeable in it. He also plays the piano. I admit to not caring for this type of music but am glad he finds such joy in it. I do have the vague, but I know it happened memory of dancing with my dad as a young child to the Blue Danube of Waltz. I'll always have a place in my heart for that piece.

Music of children laughing, playing, and especially singing in worship.

I agree except my theme is Disney based - I hear a song and remember where I was in a Park or Downtown Disney or movie premier when Disney used to do big productions of their movie release (90s) it’s not Christmas without Candlelight Processional music

I love listening to music in my car. I like a lot of variety so I switch stations a lot. I like 70s and 80s music mostly. Anything from rock to country to early hip hop/rap music.

Sharing the music I love with my kids. My kids know as many 70s/80s songs as I do. Their taste is music is wide-ranging.

Memories associated with music. Hearing anything by Jim Croce, Linda Rondstadt or Bruce Springsteen (their 70s music) reminds me of listening to 8 tracks when my Dad was driving. Hearing anything by The Carpenters, Tammy Wynette, George Jones or Tanya Tucker reminds me of my late Mother singing along with their songs.
