Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Free for all

1. Grateful my heart was fine and no metastatic disease from my CT results. Lots of other things found, but I think most are ok.
2. Grateful for having an eye for detail. Mortgage company made a large error this week and I caught it right away.
3. Grateful for friends and family. Been in the dumps, but some brighten my day like on the DIS.

I’m going to narrow this down to DD19’s Freshman year at college that’s almost over…

#1 - I’m so grateful that she is very happy and loves her school.

#2 - I’m grateful that she is getting good grades while balancing school and college softball.

#3 - I’m grateful that yesterday her and her team are now first place in their conference - the first time her school has done that. This is a very exciting time and DD19 was a huge part of this - she finished this season with the most home runs and RBIs on the team, but there’s no “I” in team, her stats blended with other players excellent stats is what secured them being the first place team. Regular season is now over, and now we start post season.

1 - Glad to hear this. I hope the other things found can be treated.

2 - I’d be grateful for that too.

3 -

I have to add something not related to my first post….

I’m very grateful for…..

Since January, when DH found out he has type 2 diabetes, he found out yesterday that he’s lost 30lbs and his A1C has been steadily under control for awhile now. If this continues, then in 3 months the doctor will consider taking him off the Osempric (sp?). I’m very proud of him for taking this seriously and working hard to make some life changes.

1. College year is winding down. Both my freshman and my senior have had good years and my senior graduates next weekend. She loved her 4 years and I am happy for her. My freshman is not sure she picked the right school for her, but she stuck it out and I am proud of her for that.
2. Youngest DD just started a new after school/summer job at the mall and likes it so far. She had a summer job last year that she didn’t like so I am hoping she likes this one.
3. With 2 in college and my youngest newly licensed and rarely home between school, practice, work and friends, DH and I are getting a taste of our future empty nest and I like it. I will miss my girls like crazy, but I am looking forward to the next stage. As I type this I realize that the college freshman comes home for the summer next week and youngest DD will also be home more June-August, but we are still heading in that general direction.

:cheer2: :grouphug:with love, Slo and Eksmama! Praise God extra. What wonderful news, thank you both so much for sharing with us. 1420Elixismc, kind dentists or any type of doctor truly are such extra blessings indeed. I'm so glad that your son got taken care of. Safe and fun WDW travels to you and your family and congratulations on your good test results, too :)

Free Friday!

1 Since today is Arbor Day, I am extra grateful to God for 🌲🌸
2 Being able to see two friends yesterday morning and a good dentist visit.
3 May is coming, a new month and more into Spring. Yes, it is my birthday month, too :)

Happy to hear the good medical news above!!

Grateful that tonight we are going out to celebrate middle DDs birthday (she turned 25 on the 25th)!

Grateful that it's Friday - it's been a super busy week at work and things are tying together nicely at the end of the month!

Grateful that my board meeting went well last night. The members have been cranky the last few meetings, so it was nice to have everything go smoothly!

Grateful for my friends, in person ones and those here on the Disboards. Sometimes Disboards friends become in person friends!

Grateful for DH. He doesn’t particularly like gardening, but he helped me a lot this week, and we have done what we needed to do before our special vacation that begins next week.

Very Grateful that on Friday we leave for FL. We have one night in WDW, then we head to Miami and on May 7, we board the Dream for a Transatlantic Cruise that ends in Barcelona. We love longer cruises, and I am hoping I can do some shore excursions, and learn about the ports and meet some people who live there.

I have been wondering how you were doing. :flower3:

Happy Saturday DIS Friends

#1 - I’m grateful for the Nutrigrain bar I’m eating right now - it’s my pre workout food item all the time - it’s just enough to sustain me until I get home 🙂👍🏻

#2 - I’m grateful for my cereal - I love love love cereal! I normally have a few different Chex flavors and Honey Nut Cheerios. There’s others I like too, but I don’t eat Lucky Charms and things like that anymore. My most favorite cereal ever that I never buy anymore due to a lot of sugar….Fruity Pebbles :goodvibes

#3 - I’m grateful for pancakes - holy moly do I love pancakes! With DH working on dropping weight and eating a small amount of carbs we aren’t making them anymore. Pancakes are on my must eat food list when DD19 and I go on our trip. I’m going to have the biggest affair with food in 6 weeks - I can hardly wait - LOL! In all seriousness….it’s been worth it - I’m very proud of DH for his weight loss success.

All these things, I am grateful for….

Cheese omelette! Made one yesterday when my sister joined us for breakfast. Our Uncle Al made them and showed me how to turn and fold them. Add hash browns and it’s a perfect meal.

I am not crazy about hot oatmeal, but it’s supposed to be good for you, and I do have it every so often. More so in winter.

Then there’s lox on bagel with cream cheese.

One more, cottage cheese blintzes. In Polish, nalesniki, my babci made the very best, but, I am satisfied with some store bought brands.

I am not a traditional breakfast eater, as I really also enjoy leftovers for breakfast. Not above enjoying left over pizza in the morning.
