Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Boy, the weeks fly by, don't they? And mine are usually very busy. Weekends have to accommodate everything and they're super-short too.
1. Church services on Sunday. Our faith is the foundation for our entire lives and joining together with our loved ones in worship is the highlight of every week. It's Communion this Sunday, so that makes it extra meaningful. :worship:
2. Having a time to host or attend social events. We love to have people over but it's just not practical during the workweek. We're also involved in quite a few service projects and volunteering and we try to schedule the very time-and-labour-intensive ones for the weekends so our weekday evenings aren't too hectic.
3. Naps. I run a sleep-deficit during the week but I try to catch up when I can. I look forward to napping almost every single Saturday and Sunday. It's cold and grey and snowy and blowy out today, so it'll be the perfect afternoon to spend snuggled up. :faint:

3 Things You're Grateful For About This Weekend
1. Open house at the pool I've been swimming at every weekend, so I don't have to pay admission today
2. World Series. My team is not in the WS, but I'm a baseball fan in general, and my pastor is a Phillies fan, so there's that.
3. Church

1. That extra hour of sleep. We have sometimes found ourselves in Disney when the clocks change back and I appreciate that extra hour even more.

2. Good weather. We are in the 70’s here. That’s quite warm for this time of year.

3. A free evening tonight—no plans. DH and I will catch up on a few shows on the DVR. I like those kind of evenings.

Today's Topic (Sat. 11/5) - 3 Things You're Grateful For About This Weekend

1 Dad is staying safely home today which is an extra God given gift along with His blessing of this day in general, of course.
2 I am also looking forward to worship services online tomorrow. My faith is also my foundation, Ronandannette ⛪
3 I've been enjoying a good 📖

This weekend

Beautiful weather! Morning prayers outside by my pond. In November!!

Bike ride with DH over to the Coast Guard Base!

The extra hour of sleep after staying up late tonight to ( hopefully ) watch the Phillies win!⚾

3 Unexpected Things You're Grateful For
1. When we have a rainstorm, and then a beautiful rainbow fills the sky. It always makes me happy
2. When my stepdaughter stops by with the girls, for no reason-just to say hello
3. When my next door neighbor string trims our bank when he's doing his. He knows I have a hard time reaching from the bottom to the top, and he knows I hate to ask the weird guy on the other side to do it for me. This one is because he actually did just that yesterday when he was doing his for the last time this season :)

Again I’m going with DIS

Just thus month I’ve made 3 new connections I’m very Grateful - always nice to connect with somebody - all unexpected and I was surprised by common connections with each

I’m Grateful for this Thread / it is a nice pleasant uplifting daily thing that I look forward to - again - unexpected and thankful you started it !!

I’m grateful & surprised that I was able to fix the 3 items that required immediate attention in my house by myself - I’m NOT a fixer in any sense of the word - but I did it and I can’t be prouder of myself and more Thankful & Grateful & Blessed that I did it !!! It’s like a miracle that each one actually happened and worked !! So blessed & Grateful - trust me I was SURPRISED & SHOCKED - I used tools and everything - anyone who knows me would be like that never happened - I’m not a fixer - well I can Proudly say I AM Now !!
Not going to get swelled head - baby steps !!! But hey I did it 🙏👍

Pandemic lockdown spring/summer 2020: DD lost her job and was in limbo. It forced her to reevaluate her goals leading to her enrolling in an arts & design school. She got a fashion degree and a new job followed quickly by a promotion. She now has a bright career future.

Impossibly difficult student led to a much better paraprofessional in my classroom.

Mild November weather. I am currently wearing flip flops and summer clothes in Connecticut.

Good Sunday Morning

3 unexpected things I’m grateful for…….

When my DH comes home on a hot day with a big slushie exactly how I would make - layers of coke and cherry - I love it when he surprises me with this ❤️

Bright beautiful rainbows - especially double rainbows. I always have to stop and look at them - sometimes even take pictures of them. We all know that they may happen after it rains, but it’s not a given, so I consider them unexpected.

My DH’s WDW vacation birthday present he gave me last year - totally 100% unexpected for me. Our last WDW trip before that was Dec 2012 - vacations were put on hold due to DD19’s softball schedule - paying for a WDW trip and all her softball travels was just not something that was financially responsible. I wanted to go to WDW for my 50th during WDW’s 50th and my DH made this happen - he’s truly wonderful. This trip made memories that will last a lifetime - one of the best family vacations ever

Sunday, 11/6 - 3 unexpected things I’m grateful for.
1) My old car still runs great (knock on wood).
2) During my grocery shopping yesterday, I found a lot of discounted meat and I was able to stock up. I’m grateful I have freezer space to store it.
3) Like @WDWEPCOT, I’m also grateful for the DIS. The kindness and helpfulness shown by fellow DIS-ers is heartwarming and I’m so appreciative.

Today's Topic (Sun. 11/6) - 3 Unexpected Things You're Grateful For

A friend recently surprised us with two Advent calendars!

Our Houston family will come for Thanksgiving. Plus our Boston family has put aside a weekend for us to come up. As Captain Kangaroo ended his shows with a phrase that has always been close to me, I treasure all gifts of their time that people have given me.

That we have had this beautiful fall weather so long into November.
