Three Things...Gratitude Thread

LOBSTER 🦞- ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ OMG do I LOVE a good Lobster roll - Linda Bean from the famous LL bean company family had the best lobster rolls at Disney’s food and wine so grateful for the hundreds that I have consumed over the years when she used to be there
But I’ll take a lobster just about any way I can get it but only if I’m by the ocean because I like my lobster fresh out of the water - sadly I won’t eat one at Disney not a whole one - it would require selling organs to get one they a bit pricey 🤪🤑🤑

i’m grateful for quesadillas delicious cheesy goodness

Cooking I can cook I just don’t want to feel like I’ve done enough of it over the years but happy national cookie day I’m grateful I know how to cook

Good Monday Morning

#1 - I’m grateful for all meals I cook in my Crock Pot - its so nice to come home and have not much to do for dinner because it’s already done.

#2 - I’m grateful for the breakfasts my DH makes on Sunday mornings - he really excels at making breakfast.

#3 - I’m grateful for anything I cook that I know is one of DD20s or DHs favorites - I get a lot of joy watching my family eat something I know they love.

@WDWEPCOT, I love lobster too! - I'm grateful for the lobster flatbread that The 99 had this summer (we got it to go at least 3 times 😃 ) and for DH's grandma, who taught me how to crack a whole lobster when I first moved here. (Where I grew up, if you ordered lobster in a restaurant, it was just the tail - no work.)

@slo, I second Crock Pot cooking! I have way more energy and creativity early in the day than I do when I'm already hungry right before dinner, so I love being able to prepare stuff ahead.

I'm also grateful for learning to cook a few things at a young age. There were certain meals my parents (or grandmother) had me help with until I could do them myself. It really boosted my self-esteem to be able to jump in on a busy night and actually contribute.

Foods/Cooking
1. Pomegranates—I mentioned them yesterday, but I finally saw them back in the stores over the weekend. I love them and they are really only available as a whole fruit for a few months a year.
2. Cheese—one of my favorite snacks.
3. Soup—I eat soup a lot for lunch in the colder months.

Grateful to have clean safe to eat food in general and a home to enjoy it in. Meals for me are also a time of Grace to give God extra thanks and be aware that I am coming to His table in an extra way. I pray to use whatever food to serve Him. Memories with dad as well are made at the table as everyday conversation and life are shared too. What a blessing.

Breakfast is my very favorite meal. I do enjoy my pancakes and small amount of cocoa. It's the joy of a new start, to, with, and for God and that I get to have dad with me is something I pray to give humble thanks for, too.

I'm the simplest most plain eater most of you may ever know. Dad is the exact opposite lol. Grateful for the foods I do enjoy and the MANY my dad does. Grateful of course also to have the means to purchase and access food. I also pray to be used by God to make it possible for all His precious life to have food, shelter, water, faith, love, and home with hope.

I need to figure out a new plan with my crockpot. I work from 7-4 each day. I used to go home for lunch most days and it was easy to put something in the crockpot at lunch and it would be ready for dinner time. Now, I live a bit farther from work and rarely go home for lunch. I haven't figured a good way to use my crockpot much anymore since I can't get it ready at noon.

DH does drive by the house for work occasionally, so I've been thinking about trying to coordinate with him and on days when he'll be out and about, get something ready for him to take out and start in the crockpot on his way by the house.

(Mon, 9/25) - 3 foods or cooking-related things you're grateful for

1. My air fryer - I have a ninja foodie air fryer and grill. I do love both functions of it, but it seems like anytime I use the grill, I wish I had a separate air fryer to use as well. I don't really want to keep two big things on my counter though lol!

2. Chili - we love chili and I'm glad for the fall/winter months to get here to not feel funny making and eating it. We still make it sometimes during the summer, but people act like we're odd for that lol!

3. Ham Balls - they are one of my mom's specialties and anytime I make them (or eat her's), I always think of how much she and the rest of the family love them!

Food/Cooking-Related: -

Slow-cooker/Crockpot -- I only use it once or twice a week, but I really like the feeling of getting the bulk of dinner made early and knowing it's going to be very easy, then, that evening.

Lovely, fresh bread, (Enough said!! 😉😉 😋😋)

Marmite 😋😋

ETA: I always post then read your replies - I'm surprised (but maybe not!) how many of us love our crockpots. 😍

🤣🤣🤣🤣 not being mean but of course you do what don’t you people cook in a crockpot?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 we never use those when I was a kid and I didn’t use it as an adult so I’m not used to this crockpot cooking

Sweaters - I’m a huge fan of sweaters - all kinds from short to long / pull over or button up but they gotta be soft

Blankets / Towels - I may have an issue here as I have a bunch may need a 12 step program for my quantity I’m a sucker for a cute soft blanket and you can never have enough towels but they gotta be nice big plush soft ones

Your bed - soft pillows nice soft sheets again nice soft blanket nice soft down comforter your bed is an oasis of plush heavenliness - you don’t want a super soft mattress but a nice soft mattress do you want some support but do you wanna be able to just dive into your bed and feel like it’s engulfing you in softness to dream the night away
As I get older I like soft things clothes nice and comfy and soft / my bed / nice soft plush towels / and I nice soft throw blanket to cuddle up with and watch TV and then I wonder why I fall asleep in the chair when I watch 🤣🤣🤣
