Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I guess there was some sort of scandal around the founder of the podcast and travel agency that the message boards eventually spun off from?? I never did find a really clear answer (nor do I follow that podcast) - but from what I gather, I think he's just leaving.
Unfortunately, it's a lot more than that. The "disappointed" thread on the podcast forum has a lot of details although difficult to follow.

Good Monday Morning Everyone

1. Disney—of course!
2. Our local sports teams—DH is a big fan and I honestly don’t care about the teams that much (shhhh!), but a lot of our social lives revolve around hosting parties and tailgating and I do enjoy the friends we’ve made.
3. Harry Potter—loved the books—read them aloud to DD#2. Visited Universal just to see the Harry Potter attractions.

And, for some reason, the first things that came to mind re. paperbacks was all the many, many books I read in child- and teen-hood, I'm grateful that my parents gave me the means and encouragement to read them all and I'm grateful to all the fantastic authors who wrote them. (Including, Judy Blume @PollyannaMom :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and so many more)

Good Morning:grouphug:

I still enjoy reading childrens series such as The Boxcar Children and Baby-sitter's Club books.

I'm not a fan (or into to be fair) of Harry Potter. I'm glad a lot of you enjoy, of course :) Classic ::MickeyMo::MinnieMopooh:lady.

Dad enjoys the Dodgers⚾I simply hope they and all teams do well :)God willing, I am very much excited about a very special birthday Dodger Stadium Tour being able to happen for my beloved dad next year. In some way, the Boys in Blue will always have a place in my heart as will for similar yet much less time reasons the Braves.

TODAY Hobbies/Fandom

Definitely, Disney, of course!
For me, I think it's always been more about the parks and resorts than the movies. I first went when I was primary/grade school age and WDW and DL have been in my heart ever since! ...Oh! And the music!

Peanuts
I think Charles Schultz was an international treasure. His legacy still is! The wit, the warmth, the philosophy...

Now, I'm stuck between music, sitcoms, sports... I'm grateful for them all!

HGrateful for the banana cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory. It’s light and not too sweet. 🍌
Banana Cheesecake?? 😍😍😍 That sounds amazing!

I really 'should' join Pinterest. I haven't been on there for years, but I do love exploring interior design online.

3 Hobbies or fandoms:

1. planning trips - we always did one a year and now that the kids are older, DH and I are taking more trips, so I always have something brewing!

2. saving money - I love bargain hunting - I used to do it out of necessity and now I do it mostly for fun! Now that we don't have as much to buy (kids get their own stuff now), I still like to send them home with goodies!

3. watching baseball - DH and I love watching our baseball team - we've started making that part of our travel plans in that we try to catch them at out of town games once or twice a year which has been fun!

Adding:
4. Pickleball - it's not a hobby yet, but I'm hoping to make it one. I need to just buy some equipment and make DH try it with me! It looks like so much fun!

Today's Topic - 3 hobbies, fandoms, etc. you're grateful for

For sure Disney. I smile because it runs in my genes. When I had asked Mom where she wanted to spend her 85th birthday she said WDW. We bought into DVC and made it happen. That was 2004.

Gardening, growing plants.

Having fish as pets. Now my fish have a pond. Many of my present fish came with me to NJ from my Ohio pond and that was 7 years ago. At least one goldfish is over 10 years old.

God Bless your precious DS, Newski_mom! I would have loved watching and cheering for those church youth!🎄

1420Elixismc, I also enjoyed several 80's cartoons such as the original Smurfs and Scooby Doo Where Are you? (Not a Scrappy fan or really of the extra characters. Just the simpler stories 📺

Beautiful family ::MickeyMopicture, Bobbiwoz, thank you for sharing!

Fandoms:

Obviously from my earlier post, Harry Potter :wizard:. Aside from the fact that they're just great stories, they were a connection with my then teenaged niece as they were coming out, and we're still close now (as in "talk every week" close) even though she's all grown up.

Star Trek & Star Wars - I know these fandoms are sometimes divided, but I love both!

and Disney, of course!! :mickeyjum:mickeyjum:mickeyjum - Love the parks, love the movies, love all the internet friends I've made here because of the Disney connection!
