So one cute story before we all nap...I had two doctors appointments and no time to go home in between so we went to Pizza Hut for lunch. Well the kids did...I didnt feel like eating. So...we were seated by the hostess and little Belle looks around and says in her cute little voice..."Pin-Ces????" :confused3 (Meaning are the princesses coming around to the table!) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well that just cracked me up so I thought I would share!
Thanks again :thanks: everyone for the well-wishes...just waiting for the antibiotics to kick in...yes, more drugs...yeesh!

Awwww Cathy that's so sweet you know no meal will ever be the same now don't you :rotfl2:

Hi Denise...PTL and thanks for reading!!!! Now when are you going?? I am sure you will like Tony's...thats on Main St right???? Where else are you dining??? Are you doing a pre-trip report??

I actually took the plunge and started a pre-trippie today! The link is in my siggie.

I'm sorry that you all aren't feeling well. We had the summer flu/sinus infection junk two weeks ago. It was brutal! Hopefully your antibiotics will kick in real soon!

Day Three - Daytime - Typhoon Lagoon

Did I mention the ceiling fans yet….they were heavenly…you would lay in bed and have the air circulating around…very peaceful! But it was time to get up so…

6:30 am : “Good Morning…are you up?(me) …. Mmmmmm (hubby)….Who’s taking the first shower??….. Mmmmmmmm…Oh yaaaa, its waterpark day so we don’t have to take a shower…Mmmmm…I am anyways…ok then you go first.”:rotfl2:

So the shower was cold for the first 6 or 7 min…strange…and then it warmed up by the time I was done…this happened for the first 4 days of our trip! Oh well! So today’s plan included beating the heat by going to the waterpark, Typhoon Lagoon. It had EMH so it opened at 8 am. Let’s get moving people!:) After DH’s shower, we got the girls up and moving by 7:15 am. Suits and sunscreen (except for DD3 who had different sunscreen: non-chemical that you had to apply often right on the spot) applied we were off at 7:40 am.

We only waited moments to catch the bus, which was almost empty except for one family who sat across from us. We chatted as the teenage daughter poured over the maps planning the trip and which parks to go to etc. The mom questioned me about everything. She knew nothing about Disney.:confused3 I gave her basic tips and which parks had which rides etc. And then we were at our stop. We said our good-byes and off we went. As we came up to the Typhoon Lagoon gates they checked our resort ID’s to give us special bracelets. (For EMH) The CM doing this was so nice and friendly! She helped the girls put theirs on. This allowed us a full extra hour of fun! Waaahoooty! :cool1: We paid OOP for tickets…yikes:scared: …they charge $33 for a 3 yr old?? A bit steep but we had no choice. We grabbed a map and off we went.

I had an idea of how to get to where we were going…which was Ketchakiddee Creek area. We walked (and walked and walked…this park is big!) around and by the wave pool area…cool! There was hardly anyone here yet so we practically had the whole park to ourselves. I sent Grumpy and Elizabeth out after we picked a spot for the stroller with instructions to return around 10 am. They went on most of the attractions and even tried snorkeling but the water was only 60 F…brrrrrrr!

Meanwhile, the two little ones and I thoroughly enjoyed Ketchakiddee Creek area. :cutie: They splashed and played and climbed and sat….lots of fun! They even had a little river ride with a tube the kids sit on. When we came upon it a family was watching their 18 month old go down it! Here was this little itty bitty thing going down by herself. I couldn’t believe it. The mom was going nuts cause the dad put her on it before they realized what was involved. However the CM/lifeguard was right there the whole time and it doesn’t tip over so the child was safe. I think it just looked worse than it was.

Here are the two girls...watch out for the croc!

OK let me post this and continue below....keep reading! :thumbsup2

Day Three - Daytime -Typhoon Lagoon Continued

Quick Review: We are looking at the little tube ride in Ketchakiddee Creek. The pics are in the post above:
So I turn to DD2 and DD3 and say…who wants to ride? “No way” says DD3 but DD2 is up for it! So I put her on it and run to the bottom to help her off. She didn’t smile. I wasn’t sure if she liked it or not but she didn’t cry so…we went off to do something else. Moments later they both want to ride it. So I put DD2 on it again first. She loved it and smiled and laughed. Then DD3 was really ready to try it….nothing like letting your little sister be the guinea pig! Ha! So Cindy liked it so much after the first run, that I had to put her on it again and again. Luckily it was a short run from top to bottom. The only mishap during this time period was that DD2 stubbed her toe on the concrete steps. Ouch! Without her glasses (back at the room) it was hard for her to see the different levels under water. I had to be extra vigilant to tell her when the footing changed levels up or down.

By now it was getting close to 10 am and the park was filling. Liz and Grumpy returned. They had tried most of the attractions already, which was good. Now it was my turn with Liz. We headed for Crush N Gusher…the only ride I had to ride! :yay: By now the line was about a 10 min wait. Up we went. You had to carry your raft up the steps. For $39 they should have a lift don’t you think? Well this ride is so neat. If you don’t know, it’s a combination of a water slide and a roller coaster. You go down and up and around….I screamed the whole time….especially at the end when you hit the big pool of water…I was afraid we would flip. We skidded half way across and then got out and handed our raft thingy to the next person in line. A photopass photographer took our pic and tossed the card in the water for Liz to retrieve.

Elizabeth and I trekked back across the park to Gang Plank Falls. Big mistake…the line here was not too long but a long wait. I think we waited like 25 min. What a bad Diser I am. Oh well. When we got to the part to pick up our ginormous raft, the CM said I was the prettiest girl here. :sad2: I wonder how much they pay this guy to say that to all the girls! I joked with him about not getting wet. He said I shouldn’t since I was at a water park. Now we had to roll this thing up steps. Course the teens behind us couldn’t stop theirs and they hit me twice and then finally dropped theirs on top of me. I was going to kill em! After another 5 min wait it was finally our turn. Liz and I get in and maybe 12 seconds later the ride is over. What??? :confused3 All that for a short and I mean short ride. Yeesh. Ok so in an hour I went on like 2 rides. (Its ok cause I was here more for DH than myself.)

We head back to check on the girls and Grumpy. Its about 11:15 so we decide to have lunch now before the crowds get hungry. Good move cause the place was filling up! We head over to Leaning Palms. We pick out the perfect spot to dine while I order everyone’s meals. I was second in line and it took like 15 min. I was thinking that they would never be able to feed everyone at the park at this rate. Suddenly a door opens and I am not kidding when I say 25 identically dressed CMs come out ready to work. Wow! So they put a few people on at first then they send in the troops later. Well let me see what we got to eat…I think it was a burger, fries, cookie, soda, pizza, fries, cookie, soda and two chicken nugget kids meals with grapes and carrots and cookies and drinks. We split all the food among us so we all had a little of everything. The food was good and we filled up! The kid’s meals came in a little red bucket with a shovel. How cute…the kids could go back and play on the beach with a bucket. Perfect! We had a nice view of the park and Castaway Creek. That looked like fun!

It was starting to warm up and we went back to homebase at the stroller. I reapplied sunscreen and sent DH and Liz to the wave pool while I changed swim diapers and collected buckets to play in the sand with. Next to the wave pool is a little lagoon area that receives only a part of the huge wavepool wave. There were a ton of lounge chairs and sand. We played in the sand for about 3.5 minutes and then went in the water. It was hot! I sat in a chair by the water and the girls had a blast on either side of me. They kind of sat and rolled around in the shallow water. When a wave would come they would hold still and freeze while it passed. Sooo funny…they squealed in delight. When DH and Liz joined up we took some pics and tried to get DD3 down a slide they had there. She got scared but did try it with DD9. Not too fun she decided. Back to the shoreline where it was “safe”. Grumpy took over watching the girls, while DD9 and I went on Castaway Creek. We took two separate tubes and just held onto each other. What fun..and it’s a long way around. Another photopass guy took our pic. I am not sure yet if we are going to buy them. We have till July 30th to decide.

The big wave pool and right in the center are DH and Liz with the wave hitting them:

At the end of our visit...we are all tired!!
021_05A.jpg

We returned to the wave pool and DH and Liz went out one last time to be bowled over by that huge wave…apparently they think its great. I beg to differ. DH took the camera with him. The girls continued swimming on shore but were tiring fast. Nothing like water to tire a kid out. I tell ya! It’s great.:woohoo:

We all join up and head back to pack up our stuff and schlep back to the showers. My plan was to shower everyone and dress in dry comfy clothes before we left. That way the girls could nap right away. We brought shampoo, soap, washcloth and clean clothes and a brush. We “rented” two towels. I set up Liz in the shower while DH watched the little ones. When she was done, I showered the girls. I chatted with the CM while Liz was showering and she told me a fun story. I mentioned that she must find all kinds of stuff left behind. She agreed and said one time she heard a women ask her husband what to do with her wet bathing suit. They were flying back that day. He asked her how much she paid for it and she said…”I don’t know…about $150”, and he replied…”just throw it out.” Wow we were pretty surprised with that. Finally it was my turn to shower and by the time I got out to the stroller the little girls were whining. I mean waaaaaa waaaaa waaaaaa. Liz found a penny press and then we were outa there by 2:30 pm.

Hi Daisy! It was either go to the waterpark or melt in the summer heat~! ;) Which winter months do you go in and what do you recommend?? I am thinking of going back in the spring 2009. :rolleyes1

HI DM! When are you going back??? It was a fun day I tell ya! I liked this park so much better than BB with little kids. Brookie would love it!

Cathy-We love January! That is our favorite time to go. This last trip we were there Jan 21-Feb 1 and it was perfect. The crowds were low and the weather was beautiful! There were a few rainy days but nothing too terrible. We also love late Nov/early Dec. The Christmas decorations are beautiful! Our next trip may be fall of 2008 or winter/spring 2009. I would love to go in May 2009 but I don't know if I can wait that long!

When I go back with DH (in 5 years) we will have to try one of these timeframes. My bestest friend went that exact same week and said the same thing...they hoped on all the rides and rode as many times as they wanted! No crowds or heat! Wow! ;)

We didn't make it to the water parks when we went and now I'm jealous! It looked so fun! and great pics! And my goodnes...someday I would like to be so rich that I could throw away a $150 bathing suit...or as my niece calls it...a baby soup! :lmao:

Loved the water park installment Cathy!! DH wants to go to Blizzard beach next time but I am not a water park/pool fan so I told him he'll have to wait until we have kids in tow :rotfl:

5 years until your next trip?? Tell me you did not just say that! :scared1:

What a great installment, Cathy!! Now I'm really rethinking my "No water parks" itinerary. Maybe I could squeeze an early morning somewhere.:rolleyes1 OH man, my DH is gonna kill me if I change our itinerary again! :lmao:

What a great day at Typhoon Lagoon you had! I think my kids are looking forward to that more than the parks (just kidding...I think)! Thanks for sharing all the pictures, too.

Denise
