Three Princesses and a June Trip to Disney World with pics, Final Update Aug 11th

Awwww...love them when they're sleepin!!! Can't wait for more Cath!

P.S.---I didn't see the lizard!

Sounds like you ad a wonderful day. I am sorry you were disappointed in the Lodge, but I think if you had a litle more time to explore you would have really liked it. There is a lot to do there, you just have to be willing to explore.:thumbsup2

The girls looked so excited when they opened their surprise. I can't wait to hear all about them meeting the princesses

You are right and as I said,,,I think I was just tired. ;)

Day Three - Evening - Wilderness Lodge Continued
So at 5:50 pm we were seated and the kids were being called up to do the horse ride around the restaurant. Unfortunately, there were no more stick horses left and DD3 was leary of the whole situation. We sat down again and our waitress came for our order. Now it was DD3’s turn to be fussy. Our waitress threw down stuff on the table and while I thought it was funny, DD3 did not. Not enough sleep I think. She wanted to sit on my lap and wouldn’t really eat. Miss Fussiness and other two princesses ordered…smack and cheese, grapes, applesauce, carrots and for dessert, worms in dirt. They had lemonade and soda…all the treats they don’t get at home! We both ordered the most delicious meat loaf and mashed potatoes ever made here on earth. :thumbsup2 OK maybe I am exaggerating…but it was good! I think we also had rolls and butter, ice tea and salad. Oh yeah…I forgot about the appetizer…we had nachos and valley greens. Great! Dessert was another eat-one-bite kinda thing…it was Apple Carmel Pie and Banana Dustbowl. Sorry I don’t remember if it was yummy or not. Periodically throughout dinner were the usual calls for ketchup and a couple of embarrassing moments at tables around the restaurant. We however must have blended in and didn’t receive any attention. The girls colored and hung up a picture and we walked out stuffed around 7:15 pm.
My kids were "lost" in the antics here back in 2004. You do need to draw attention to yourself by asking for the ketchup, straws, etc., for it to be done. While the meal was good, I would wait until my kids are older to enjoy what most people go there for.

How precious and what a sweet mommy!

What a great day!!! I always enjoy days that end with quiet time because the lil ones are too tuckered out to stay awake.... especially at disney!!

What a wonderful surprise with the BBB attire! How great! Continue on please! :goodvibes

I'm sorry your trip to WL began with fussiness. Sometimes ya just gotta let it out. They all sure look cute, though.

Good job on the box of princess stuff!! :thumbsup2 I can tell they were excited.

Congratulations!!!! When is your trip? 5 months along is a good time to travel if you are going to! :cutie: I dont think they had life vests unless you were really little....maybe those yellow ones they give out? I think they keep the water cold so only the strongest and bravest go in!! :rotfl:
The life vests were thin and used to be required for everyone to wear. They fit like a wetsuit and were light gray, snug fit and zipped up from the bottom. The worst part was they were so cold when you put them on and then you had to stand under a freezing cold waterfall to get used to the cold water before entering the shark pool. That was in 1999. Then last year you just walked up and got in the pool dry, which was a huge change and shock to the system, but I took some amazing pictures that made it worth it.

To answer your questions: I am due Jan. 21st. We are going to Disney from Sept. 22nd to Sept. 30th so we will hit free dining, MNSSHP (our first time) and the Food and Wine Festival. I love POFQ, but we are staying at All Star Sports this year to save some $$$.

I loved the pictures and report on Whispering Canyon. I was thinking of cancelling my Fantasmic Package at Mama Melrose and trying Whispering Canyon. I think now I will have to try for reservations. I have a DS that just turned 2, who also wears glasses (there are pictures in my pre-trip report) and my DD will turn 7 three weeks before we go.

Thank you for writing such a wonderful and comprehensive report!

The problem was .... we didn't get anything that required ketchup

I hope they remember it when they are 15! :rotfl2:

I think Disney definately has more to do than two toddlers can wrap their energy around..:yay: And that's sayin somethin'!

Oh it was fun for mommy too! And yes I will be working on the next installment!

I was surprised they weren't more fussy in general. I think they were just too plain tuckered out to fuss in general or too busy! :dance3:

That was quite an experience for you I bet! :woohoo:

That sounds like the absolutely most perfect time to go....not too hot or crowded!!!!

:wizard:

Oh goody I will check out your pre-trippie. I have heard great great things about Fantasmic but not so always positives about Mama Melrose. Have you seen Fantasmic yet? I havent but I do want to see it someday. ;)

Cathy I nearly missed this you need to update your title :goodvibes

I walked up to the desk and started “complaining” to Matt about the long wait here at WCC! He gave it right back to me…hahahaha…..apologizing for the delay etc.
Very good :rotfl2:

I explained to them that we would dress up and wear them to our princess dinner on Saturday at Epcot. I am so proud for keeping it a surprise and they were all tickled pink to be able to dress up! We snapped some pics and tucked everyone including Grumpy in bed
there faces are just so sweet :goodvibes

I, however, had other plans. Since it was 9:30 pm and everyone was asleep, I took off all by myself for the Fulton’s General Store. I bought a few souvenirs/gifts and browsed for about ½ hour. It was close to 10 pm and the place was packed! Next, I soaked in the nice hot tub by the pool for about 20 minutes. :cloud9:
Sounds lovely!

Well on the leaf (small green and brown leaves )in the center of the pic is a little lizard. Can you see him now??
Errrr nope :rotfl:

I haven't Dis'd in a while. What a wonderful gift I got when I found your trip report. I read the whole report this morning. Sounds like a wonderful vacation. I can not wait to hear to more.:thumbsup2

your report is making me so excited for our upcoming trip...we really LOVE wilderness lodge. I am sorry you weren't too impressed. After the poly, it is my favorite resort. We bought DVC this year and are trying the villas at the lodge this october.

keep the posts coming, i really enjoy reading them.

Gosh Jo you are sooo right....whopppsss! My brain is drowning in humidity and is getting a little rusty I think. Jo you just wouldnt believe how humid it is here:eek: Awww thanks for setting me straight! Now about the little lizzard... I can only see him cause I took the pic but he is there in the middle straddled between a green and brown leaf by all those little needle or sticks or whatever they are. So you can see why the lizard lives on...he is good at hiding!!! :3dglasses

Welcome Flafan! :cheer2: Thank you so for your very kind words!
Thanks for reading and I am typing the next installment for later this week!

Hi Peanut! Thanks soo much for reading.:cheer2: OHHHHH DVC...how wonderful!!! Let me know how Oct is...one of my friends is going then too. Are you writing a report?

I have thought about it and its not that I didnt like Wilderness Lodge actually. Its beautiful!!!I think what it was was I was expecting it to be such a clear step "up" from POR and offer so much more. So I wasnt dissappointed in Wilderness Lodge as I was surprised that POR offered so much. I really think they are comparable with WL being much closer to MK and having the boat ride across the Lagoon...which was beautiful and fun! While POR is closer to DTD and has their fun boatride there. So long story short I think I will make this clear in my next installment. ;)

We headed out to the bus about 4:30 pm all still a little sleepy….

I hate that about afternoon naps. You really need them, but it's so hard to wake up from them!

Back at our room I got the girls ready for bed and then it was time to open the mysterious big box!

They must have been so excited! How did they ever wait until Saturday???

Next, I soaked in the nice hot tub by the pool for about 20 minutes. :cloud9:

Sounds nice! I hope I can fit in some of this on our trip!

Awwwww…. my babes are so cute (and so is everyone’s) when they are peacefully asleep.

I love sleeping kids!

Looking forward to the next installment!

Denise

Yes....Castaway mom this water park has a great river named after you :rotfl2: Thanks for reading! ;)

well, I toke the name from the Castaway Cay Island, from the Disney Cruise lines. We went on one 2 yrs ago. But if we ever go back to WDW I will try to talk DH into going to the Waterpark.

I saw the lizard, at first I mistook him for a little brown snake. But those lizards are fast. We saw them all over the place while we were staying at AKL this year. Ryan(DS 11) wanted to catch them, we(hubby and I) said leave them be. He caught two lizards last year and keep them in one of the old fish tanks that we have and they lived for two weeks on bugs that he(me) would catch to feed them. Then he let them go outside. Next he had three frogs that lasted for 3 months. Let's just say that the next time I have to catch any bugs someone had better be taking me fishing.

Nope, not me...I for one did not see that lizard!

Would you eat again at the Wilderness? I have always wanted to check out this resort. I think the rooms are much more roomier than POR....I think.

I love that you took MOM TIME! We all need a break once in a while.

Those sleeping Bamino's are so sweet! AND I love the special box that they received full of princess attire!

We loved WCC as well but got the all-you-can-eat skillet! We didn't go this past trip but plan to on our next one! It's a great place for kids isn't it??!! :thumbsup2

Great updates!!!! Love the make your own BBB, what a fantastic idea.

I hear ya on DVC at the contemporary. If they do build DVC, I would love to add on there!!!!

Good for you for taking "me" time, you deserve it!

And no need to drag this out, keep those updates coming!

Thanks Denise! I love to take afternoon naps but I am always sleepy unless I get to sleep three hours :rotfl2: which wasn't possible on this trip! They did ask each night if it were Sat yet so they could get dressed up ;)

How did you like the Disney Cruise??? I would love to hear your opinion. I heard that Castaway Cay Is. is soooo neat and the water is beautiful! You're such a good mom catching creatures and feeding them....boys and girls are so different! ;) Great job on seeing the lizzard!!! :thumbsup2

oh, yes the girls looked so excited and happy with their surprise box of Princess Attire.
Oh yes, thanks, they were surprised and get to wear them again in August for the Baby Parade we have here. I can't wait!

Oh sure I would eat there again....our meal was yummy! I think we were all just beat tired even though we napped. So yes that hot tub was ideal!!!!!!!!
