They didn't win the national championship but they sure made New England proud....especially with their wonderful show of good sportsmanship at the end of the game!!!!!

Watched part of the game tonight - they played very well! Look at it this way, they came in second place throughout the entire US - something to be extremely proud of!!! Way to go.:bounce:

Missed the game:( , but that means that Louisville (my HOMETOWN) must have won?

Can someone fill me in?

Thanks,

Yup, Deb, Louisville plays Japan on Sunday for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!
I've enjoyed watching all the teams play! I have to admit that the Mass. team caught my attention with little Andy at 3rd base!!

Yes, Louisville won and people are excited around here!

A great bunch of kids~ I wish them well. I think they have learned this week that Louisville is proud of them, no matter what happens with Japan.

A hearty Congrats to Worcester Little League. They have to be proud to have made it to the top!

All the kids were great. Having lived in Worcester during the 80s, and knowing the parents of several of the kids, I certainly was cheering for the Worcester team, but the kids from Louisville were an awesome team.

I thought it was 4-0?? I was watching these young men play some awesome baseball last night!! They ALL should be congratulated and commended on their abilities and their behavior!! What manners these young men have!! And, the coaches, how courteous/supportive and 'tough' they were! Really nice to see all this in prime time last night but, I hope the MLB players take some notice! ;) There are some FINE players coming up the ranks!! :Pinkbounc Best Wishes to all these young men!!

Yes. it was 4-0. It was heartwarming to watch, especially as others have said, the sportsmanship. Those Worcester kids were still smiling and cheering their teamates right up to the last out, too! I especially enjoyed the comment of the little guy at the end..."Well they got four runs on us in one inning...hey, if not for that inning we'd still be in a scoreless tie"!! ROTFLOL
I was rooting for Worcester, having grown up in Framingham, a few miles down Rte 9 ;) but a couple of very dear friends of mine live in Louisville, and I'll be cheering for them representing the good old USA in the champoinship!

I was so mad down here-it wasn't shown because the Dallas Cowboys preseason game "had" to be shown. I lived in Worcester for 17 years, DS played at Burkett, and DH went to school with one of the coaches. Hear the Centrum was open free of charge for fans to watch. If so, great support! We have relatives who taped it for us. Can't wait to see it.

Yes, we here in Worcester are just proud as a peacock about our boys. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of kids. They'll be feted with a motorcade ride down Main Street on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30pm with a ceremony at City Hall. The Red Sox have invited them to Fenway and I'm sure they'll have some sort of special recognition there. The Worcester Centrum Centre opened its doors last night for free admission to watch it on the big screen. More than 2000 people were there. Also Worcester State College opened its door to the local Tatnuck residents (the area of Worcester these boys are from) and they had a big crowd. It's been great fun for us here in Worcester. We couldn't be prouder! :D

They did awesome and Massachusetts is mighty proud if them!!!

It's so refreshing to see baseball played because they love the game. Good sportsmanship abounded. Who needs the Red Sox when we have Burkett?

You know, the shots of these kids applauding and smiling at the end of the game speaks VOLUMES. They did a great job, are the 2nd best team in the US, and had a ball doing it.

Good Luck to the team from KY, and congrats to the kids from Worcester, they all deserve it!

In 1996 a team from Cranston, RI won the national championship. The kids on that team are now finished with high school but many still consider that the best moment in their lives (so far!)

The kids from Kentucky have a great team too we're all hoping they're victorious tonight.

We here near the California Central Coast were cheering for the kids from APTOS.. I love seeing the KIDS so Happy and excited, often Little League is overwhelmed by overbearing parents... I did not see this attitude displayed by the parents of the kids who made the LL world series. Congratulations to all the participants!!
