We bought a 2004 Ford Expedition on Friday. It has all the bells & whistles, a very nice ride with a 4.6L V8. We bought specifically for pulling our little pop-up camper. Well, and for transporting all the kids that go in it
We are planning to upgrade our popup to a somewhat bigger trailer in the future.
Then we went to the RV show on Saturday and realized that the trailers we are attracted to cannot be pulled by this Expy.
Very sad. Will we have to just stick with the popup even though it doesn't fit us anymore? DH called Carmax and told them the dilemma.
THEY TOOK IT BACK
Sunday we drove over and not only did they take it back with a smile, they trotted me all over the lot looking at other SUVs that might work. One of the guys camps regularly and tows big trailers so he was very knowlegable about what we needed. Eventually we found another Ford Expedition(i just love the interior roominess!) with a 5.4L V8 and a tow Package--this thing will tow my other van AND my pop-up, 8400lb
In under 2hrs Carmax saved the day and made a customer for life.

Well, we went to Carmax the next day and told them the same thing and we walked out of there with our new Expedition.
