A photo of Brody & DD.

Hello everyone!!!! Not much going on here. Just waiting for the rain to get here.

Ev-Oh, your DD is such a cutie. And so is Brody. She looks so happy and he looks like he wouldn't hurt a fly. We live fairly close to 2 lakes. You can swim in the one but we choose not to. It's not very big and let's just say, they usually have to close it half-way through summer because of cleanliness. The other one is really only for fishing and boating. It's such a nice place to spend the day.

I'm just glad it's Friday...despite no kids all week I'm :faint:

If only I could get the kids to stay in bed I could maybe crash early...what are the chances...

Kids go to bed early? No freakin way!!!! :rotfl2:

My older 3 are ok with bedtimes. The youngest is a night owl. It doesn't matter what time she gets up, she is still up late. But then I'm on here till 12am everynight, so I can't wonder where she gets it from.

For me it's my oldest...I just chased him out of here...he HAD to show me a paper airplane he'd build. Couldn't come up with excuse though when I asked how he did it with his light off.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say, sleeping in a bra??? NEVER! NO WAY! UH-UH!! NOT ME! I like to let the girls swing free at night. And if I'm only at home during the day, sometimes then too! Right now I'm in a bathing suit (going to the pool after the lab) and it just has a "shelf bra". Gotta love it.

Now, not so long ago, when I was a DDD cup :scared1: it was a different story. But now, as a "barely C", I can get away with it. Ya know that "pencil test"? Well, I could have held up the entire Crayola 64 colors box before! Now? Nope, that pencil drops right outta there!:lmao:

:lmao: :lmao:

Okay, this is strange well have a few strange things to tell you, first I put the world party in my post to Wendy and when I posted it showed up with the smilies party:confused3.

That's funny. He was so proud, he didn't even think of an excuse.

I've had some good excuses from my kids too. DD7 tells me all the time that she can't sleep because the room is too dark, too light, too hot, DD12 is snoring too loud, etc. The list just goes on and on. And yet this is the same child that has fallen asleep during a fireworks show.

Evening disney54us to answer a couple of your questions:

The BBQ is great we do it every Sept. The parents order hot dogs/hamburger/sausage and we have one of the local store do the cooking. After everyone is introduced the families get to tour around the school. Our local radio station even sends a DJ to entertain.

Being by a lake is great...even though I don't swim in it much because we have a pool. Lake Huron is quite large...it's about 90 miles wide where I live with Michigan on the other side...so we have good waves & such. Sort of like being on the ocean but no salt in the water. It's especially nice this time of year with the tourists and cottagers gone the beach is pretty well deserted.

No > he'll be two on Sept. 18th.

I love that idea!!!! Is it done for the whole school community or for the little new ones?
okay got it he'll be 2 on the 18th.

oh so cute:love: both your DD and Brody, kids and dogs, they are the best of friends.

Hi racergirly, of course one of your kids would have to get your night owl ways:lmao:.

disney54us-are you using your superior computer skills again? :rotfl2: Teach us all how to type a word and have the smilie appear. I'm glad DS had a good day at school. And for DD, you are right that she just has to be more aware of her surroundings. Not that public schools are bad just different. Glad she found some people she knows there.

:scared1: racer how many more days til dis???? gosh I haven't done a thing

I leave on the 23rd and that's 78 days away. And no, I didn't know that off the top of my head. I had to go make one of those countdown tickers that show the days. :lmao:

I don't have anything else to really plan anymore. I'm trying to not make alot of plans and just go with the flow this year. I have a few rides we have to do but I really want to spend some time exploring this year.

Wow...looking at everyone's tickers and listening to all your trip anticipation / reports, makes me wish we were going back soon. I feel like I'm the only one w/o a trip planned. :sad1:

Have a great weekend all!

Nope, no trip planned here either...

We'll have to live vicariously through the others.

disney54us - We have two school which are "twinned". One does Junior kindergarten - Grade 3 and the other Grade 4 - 8. The actual BBQ takes place at the younger ones school but then both school are open to tour & meet the teacher after everyone eats.

Sorry no suggestions, went to Wegmans, and bought some prepared foods. Friday in these parts is the official order out night, but I get tired of pizza, etc. So at least there, I can get 'real' food, it's good and tasty. Your a good mom, If cooking school ends at six (do they get to eat what they make?) and party at 7, (they will have food right?) I wouldn't worry, they can eat when they get to the party:lmao:.

Friday used to be "whatever" night here too--often pizza. Yes, they do eat what they make (if they like it, and they usually do), so alot of times they aren't real hungry at dinnertime. And the party was grownups only--they were here at home while I went! And no food there for me anyway.

Tomorrow night I have a surprise birthday party to go to, so I won't be having dinner at home. I'd totally forgotten! Oh well, they can have the spaghetti, and I'll have some Sunday when they are with their father...

According to TGM I have 92 days left :cool1: but unlike you I got very carried away with the planning. DDP, ADRs aahhh. But I think everything has worked out OK...I guess I'll know soon enough.

Ev-your schools sound great. I wish I could say the same about our's. The playground equipment at DD's elementary school had to be torn down because they deemed it unsafe. We had to fundraise for 2 years to get a new one put in. The district didn't have the money to put one in. And yet during that time, they spent millions to rebuild the football stadium. :sad2: Any wonder, I'm counting the days till we move away from here.

whgrn-:wave2: Fancy meeting you here at this time of night. :rotfl: How ya doing?

We spent two years fundraising to replace the playground/backyard at the "big" school with new grass. The school board gave us the choice of grass or books?? Said they couldn't afford both.
