Sure, leave now that I can get on here. I would have been here sooner but I was busy ordering tickets for the Richard Petty Ride Along for DH to do when we go on vacation.

Bopsmom-DD is into all that arts & crafts stuff. She's quite good too. Doesn't get it from me. :rotfl: Just yesterday, she was measuring the little ones because she wants to try to make them new pajamas.

Oh jeezzzz:headache: , that's how I ended up losing 3 yards of pink "pleather" that I was going to make her a "mod Barbie" costume from. Dang, I lose so many good yard goods when DD gets the "design" bug.:rotfl: I have 2 sewing machines and was going to put her in sewing class this summer but she played tennis instead. She knows touching my "good scissors" or my good machine will cause loss of limbs. Bless her heart, she once made a doll dress and was too afraid to sew it so she used staples for the seams. I guess that's what I get for getting her sewing cards when she was a toddler and those felt sewing craft kits. At least she didn't want to be a hair stylist.

I see somebody left M&N home alone again!! Who was supposed to be watching her? Now we will never get this "house" cleaned up. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Pepper---have you heard from Kim?

No I haven't. I will send her an email tomorrow. Hopefully she has just been so busy spending all that money from her new job. I haven't seen her on at all come to think of it.

pepper-I don't see any "whining" going on. I only see you venting and blowing of some steam. You have to or you'll just explode. And you know you can come here and vent anytime you need to. My brother takes it much harder than I do. Not that I'm not affected or anything but he is very emotional. I have my good cry for a while and then I go into the "ok, what do we have to do to beat this" mode. I have to pro-active to what is going on in order to deal with it.

Thank you so much! You are really very comforting to talk to about this and I appreciate it, it really means a lot. I am in such a better place today. Funny, I never realized how much the family goes through too (not taking away from the actual patients). I mean I sympathized but I never "got it"; you know, like the people at work that actually went to the 5K runs and various other fundraisers instead of just throwing 50 bucks in the 'kitty'. Now I truly get it and you bet your bippy I will be at the next fundraiser I hear about.

I've been having sore shoulder and arm too. I knew it was from being her too much but what can I do? I do have a mouse pad that has a bump on it to rest your wrist. I lowered my chair too so my arm's flatter.

And those late fees are not cheap. I have most of my bills taken out automatically. My checkbook's messie but it does help me not mess up as many bills. Sometimes I just plum forget to mail them. Now I have a system. I clip them to the curtain when they are ready to be mailed on my door going into the garage. I see them on the way out of the house...hopefully!

I was going to say you were following the be prepared motto but you called yourself a Girl Scout later so I'll just say you've got it together.

You are allowed to have debbie downer moments...you have great concerns now. If you knew what was what, it would be easier to deal with. When drs are uncertain, how are we to feel? Just keep thinking that they want to treat him correctly and want to make sure what they are doing will have the best possible outcome.

:

Thank you for your kind words. You hit it right on the head too. It is totally the not knowing. It is scary. You guys have all been really good friends for me through this and I can't stress how much that has meant to me.

About the shoulder. My Dr. told me too that your nose should hit right at the middle of your monitor for best posture. :)

Racetrack18kb,
DD got her letter today. She was sooooo excited and wrote back immediately. She put one in the mail tonight to ya'll so tell your DD to keep an eye out. :goodvibes

I'll tell her tomorrow. She's sound asleep already (guess she doesn't take after me in that department :lmao: ) DD is excited about this too. When she wrote her letter, I didn't have any stamps. Since my dad happens to be a mail carrier, she walked his route to find him so he could take care of it for her. :goodvibes

How cool that the "JR TK'rs" (as Magikitty calls them. ;) ) are pen pals. Even cooler that they are actually writing on paper! So rare these days and so refreshing!

Trying to squeeze in a quick Good Morning to everyone! Bopsmom, you take care of everything and keep safe.

I love the idea of pen pals amongst the Jr. TKers. I agree, the art of a good letter is totally lost. My gf in Scotland and I write letters to each other. Its just nice to have something to look forward to in the mailbox! And I love the idea of holding a letter in my hands that was in her hands just a few days ago. I have a box of our letters and I absolutley love it---some of these letters date back to our high school days!

I think its so important to introduce a variety of music into kids life. Listening to a lot of stuff on the radio today, it just reminds me so much of stuff I used to listen too all those years ago. Its a cycle.

I remember Sha-Na-Na too. I used to watch their show on tv. I'm a big Motown girl myself. Never got too much into Hippie Rock, but did love the soft rock of the 70's and I'm not ashamed to say I love Disco and 80's punk/alternative scene! I've actually been trading music with my nephew before he goes to college. He thinks Heart is amazing, loves David Bowie and the Cure. I don't think there's enough time to give him all the "good" music of my youth.

Ack! I'm taking the twins to college in a few weeks. I'm not ready!

Ok, I'll be back later. Happy Tuesday everyone!

I love all that old music. Bee Gees rock IMO ha ha. And I love love LOVE the fact that all the old ABBA songs have been playing again because of that movie.

Sha-Na-Na....Sigh...that bring back memories. Remember Bowser?? He was totally my fave.

Your nephew sounds awesome and hearing you talk about them reminds me of my aunt Christi. She always did so much with us growing up. She is much younger than my Dad so as we were growing up she still "got it". I remember she used to take us to the Drive In all the time...I miss drive ins...okay, I'm rambling.

Morning All,

Haven't checked in for a while. Been enjoying the summer. :sunny:
Had to go into work for a few days. We lost 2 Jr. High teachers over the summer and I had to help interview for the new ones. It's more fun being on this side of the desk in an interview. :) Can't believe I go back to work for good in 2 weeks!!!!!:teacher:

To all those suffering from aches and pains = Hope you feel better soon. Try not to Dis so often Pikeser!

Bopsmom - Glad to hear you are staying safe. You're welcome to come join us Yanks here in the North anytime! I'll put y'all up in our trailer.

Pepper - for you and your Dad. I too thought cancer would be simple to diagnose and then move on. Still sending prayers your way.

M&N - Sorry you can't boo 24 & 48 anymore. It's soooo much fun. :

Lighttech

- we'll forgive you if you don't check in for a while, under one condition.... someone must check in right after baby Lighttech is born to at least give us his stats and name. You'll drive us crazy for a month if someone doesn't share that much with us. :hyper:

Hi racetrack, shmu and disney54us!!!

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Talk to ya later!

Thanks for the hug! I will pass it on.

Crazy you have to go back in two weeks already. I was talking to my best friend and she goes back Monday (she is in Georgia). She is excited though because she is starting at a new school.

I second the baby lightech update. I nominate her DH. :rotfl:

BTW, My Dad said to tell everyone hello and thanks for all your prayers. He really appreciates it he said. :grouphug:

:cool1: Is he doing it at Disney or Daytona?

I'm glad kids still love to do stuff like that. My art teacher friend doesn't think there are too many around anymore. Parents are too busy to let the kids make a mess. She does stuff with her grandkids.

I see somebody left M&N home alone again!! Who was supposed to be watching her? Now we will never get this "house" cleaned up. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Not my job! I have ADHC---attention deficiet house cleaning!!!

I thought it was your turn?!?!

It sure wasn't MY turn!

My mom called my cell...couldn't get me on the phone. She said she thought I was already on the computer once today...If she only knew!
Big Brother is coming on...BYE!

M&N-He going to do the ride-along at Disney. I thought of trying for Daytona even though it is more money. But they don't do any type of program during November. :headache: Maybe next year.

I hope you get to Daytona though.
How old are your kids? 14, 12, 7, 5? I know you said the youngest was waiting til next year for kdg. (I never went!) Are they considering all day kdg in your schools? They are changing our schools when they build a new one for gr 3-6. By they they figure there will be all day kdg. I'm not sure many will be ready for that.

We decided we are going to stop in Daytona on the way home. We were going to stop at DTD for a half day before we left for some last minute shopping. I'll just take the last minute shopping money and spend it in Daytona istead. I could always use a new KB shirt/hat/lounge pants/sunglasses like he wears. :cool2: :rotfl2:

No they don't do all day kindergarten here. They only did it one year that I know of and it just so happens that it was the year my brother went. The elementary school closest to us is very small. I don't think there are more that 2 classes per grade. It is also an open-concept school from seconde grade on. I was worried at first but it has turned out great for DD12.

You know me too well.

And besides, I had no smilie in my last thread.

Did you read Jayski today. He had something about a stabbing up at Pocono. :scared1: Not much info but still scary. We've been there a couple of times but we have never felt unsafe up there. Some rowdy people and many who have drank too much. Just not something I thought I would be reading about a race.

I did not see anything about it. It looks like it's a big party place though with that big infield. Besides, once you get to the track, I don't think there's anything around it. At least at Dover there's a lot to do, places to eat.

I'm signing off...need my beauty sleep.

Morning M&N! I'm here too. Debating my ADRs again. This really must stop. I was good for a few weeks, but for some reason today I keep thinking I want to switch some around....

How you doing?
