Hi,
Checking in between packing and cleaning. Why is it that I always feel I need to leave the house clean before we go on vacation? :confused3 Only 3 more days...in case you lost track. :rotfl2:

Pikester - As we speak my sons are playing Lego Star Wars. They LOVE it so I have to limit them to how often they can play. We have only watched Star Wars 4-6 (the original) and don't feel that 1-3 are appropriate for the kids to watch. The LOVE Legos too. My DS10 did Lego Camp last week where they learned to build simple machines. Very cute and he loved it. DS6 just found another Lego Star Wars shirt at Kohls. It was on sale for $7 so I bought it. He immediately packed it for camping.

Pepper - I too like your 2nd picture. I am glad your Dad got some kind-of good news but I will continue to pray for him.

I agree we should email Magsnden. Hope all is well. I saw you mentioned about Disney54us. Is she okay? Did I miss something?????

Welcome back DL55!!!

Magikitty - What are the Lego Star Wars clearance websites again???

Hi lighttech & M&N!:wave2:

D&DDisney I always clean the house before we go on vacation too. I blame it on my mother...she does the same thing. :goodvibes

Whew! Some major storms rolling thru here... But, DH is home, and he says its sunny there. :confused3 (only about 20min away.)

NASCAR news: Tont Stewart will not be with Gibbs next year. Office Depot will still be his sponsor. He's going with Haas CNC Racing and he will be part owner too. They said Ryan Newman will also be going. They said that this will make Stewart the highest-paid driver in NASCAR. Stewart's agreement with Gibbs is that he will not attempt to hire away any members of his current team. This was a significant key to making the deal happen because Gibbs wants to put Joey Logano in the Cup Series and put him with Greg Zipadelli's established, experienced crew. Scott Riggs and Johnny Sauter are the drivers for Hass now. (Could Zippy just leave? I just cannot see Tony without him)

Thanks for the update. I'm definitely interested in this Logano kid. I sort of brushed it off b/c of all the hype. But, his record so far, especially at his age is really impressive.

Hi,

Hi lighttech & M&N!:wave2:

:wave2:

Probably won't be back on until tomorrow sometime, so until then...

D&DDisney I always clean the house before we go on vacation too. I blame it on my mother...she does the same thing. :goodvibes

Me too. I think I just like to come home to a clean house. I know I'll have laundry to catch up on from the trip, etc., and I just don't want to feel like I have to come back from a relaxing time to all sorts of work.

D&D...I just go to Lego.com and then click SHOP. On the right hand side there will be a SALE tag that you click on and it takes you to the sale items. And if you like Lego in general, they have an adorable lego brick lunch box and backpack. They have some hard core Star Wars stuff on there. I want the Luke Skywalker figure. Again, I highly recommend the bag charms, a steal at $5! I got the milennium falcon and its a good size!

Funny, I have another wedding in August, and the couple are Luke and Leah!

(I also named my dog Vader)

I too try desperately to clean before I go anywhere for an extensive time, but I'm afraid I'm not too good at it. There's just so much to do before I leave that it looks pretty crazy by the time I leave, but I do try.

M&N...I checked out that thread. That's some crazy stuff out there!

Yeah! the Evils have left the state. There's a huge sigh of relief all over the town. I'm meeting with the family for a belated congratulatory graduation dinner on Friday--can't wait to get all the good stories.

We had a rain shower this afternoon...no lightning like Tue.

MagiKitty: We want the Evils stories too.

D&D: 3 days.

I'll be back later....

MagiKitty-Stories! Stories!

We had three t-storms with down pours roll through here in a 2 hour period. The bark mulch in my garden ended up on my brick walkway because it was raining so hard and we lost DirectTV twice so I missed parts of General Hospital. Oh well, it's been a little boring lately. I want me some Liz & Jason!

How's everyone today? Been busy here and finally have a chance to sit down at the computer. We went and bought one of those push lawnmowers for DS to start cutting the grass. We only have a small yard and don't trust him to use either a gas or electric mower. We got it used but in good condition so it will last until he proves trust and responsibility with us.

Oh, please don't mention Legos. DD5 & 7 are really starting to get into them and they want new sets everytime we go shopping. I am so looking forward to those late nights when I get up in the middle of the night and step on one. Nothing like hopping to the bathroom on one foot while trying to be quiet so I don't wake anyone up. :lmao:

M&N-saw the Tony announcement earlier today. Very interesting provision about not trying to sign anyone from his current team. I wonder if Zippy wanted to go to but Gibbs wants him there to help with Lagano? I also read another article on Yahoo about this whole thing and it seems Gibbs knew for a while that Tony was leaving. Edwards was offered Tony's ride before he resigned with Roush. And that was back in May.

Pikester-I've been reading the comments on the Hell's Kitchen thread. I think I understand why he picked who he did and I don't think it had anything to do with how well either of them did last night. I think Ramsey picked the one he did because he will be able to train that one to run the kitchen the way he (Ramsey) wants it run.

lighttech-I watch Ramsey's other shows on the BBC and he is much nicer on those. Not nearly as much shouting and swearing. He tries to get his point across without being a total jerk. That's when I really like him.

DL55-WELCOME BACK!!! Sorry, I'm one of those last minute shoppers. I always forget about buying fireworks and sparklers until the kids remind me. I'm always too worried about the important part of the 4th...the picnic food. :rotfl:

D&DDisney-3 MORE DAYS!!!

MagiKitty=I'll be waiting for stories about the Evils too. :lmao:

I finally get a minute to come play at night, and its pretty quiet! :cutie:
Oh well, I'm sure I'll only be on for a few minutes anyway... seems like by the time I get home and get DS to bed, there's basically enough time for me to pack lunches/dinners, lay out clothes, and get to bed myself.

I actually jumped online to look up a Moonbounce Adventure place near us. It seems that next Thurs. DSs daycare is going to take him on his first field trip! :scared1: (We got the permission form today.) I can't believe my little guy is going on a field trip. (Insert sniffling Mommy smiley here.)

I actually didn't think that kids his age were allowed to go (I vaguely remember another daycare telling me that they couldn't take the 2-3 yr olds, only the 4yr olds and over on field trips) but I guess I was wrong. They'll be riding a bus, and I panicked a little. I don't even like him riding in other people's cars properly buckled into a carseat... its just a thing I suppose. :confused3 So, I wanted to see how far they were going. Looks like its no more than a few miles from the school, and, if I remember correctly the speed limit is like 25mph the whole way (or not much above it.) So, I'm trying to convince myself not to be over-protective.

Am I being silly?

There's no way I could turn it down just for a paranoid Mommy moment. Bounce houses are about his favorite thing in the whole world. We've been to a few fairs w/ them, and the reunion we just got home from rents one each year. He must've been in there for about 6 hrs on Saturday... didn't even want to stop to eat, and DS is ALWAYS up for food. He can't stop talking about it and asking when we can go to another one. Going to a place that has several! OMG! He's going to lose his little mind w/ excitement. :yay:

Well, back to the lunch packing I suppose. And convincing myself to sign this permission form... :headache:

TTFN!

Racetrack beat me to the Tony Stewart thread. I must have been typing when she posted.

Sorry Pikester---I was going to save you from being a TK but I didn't know what to say...someone wanting a code.

Maybe I should not admit this, but I did not go out of the house today. Didn't even get the mail in. I still have my nightie on. Was just one of those days. I'll have to run the trash out tomorrow morning.

Just in case pepper finds a way to see the final episode Christina won. I'm pretty disappointed. I thought the other person ran their kitchen much better tonight.
:

I did catch the end! Yay Me! Very surprised and a little disappointed. Thanks for using the "white out" just in case. Boy, Chef Ramsey really drug out that whole counting to 3 thing.

I'm posting this in red to get everyone's attention. M&N brought up Magsnden not checking in and I went through and checked for her last post. It was on 6/3. MagiKitty mentioned that she sent a pm to her and never heard back. She hasn't checked the boards. I'm a worrier by nature...can't get past that no matter how hard I try. I miss her around here and hope all is well with her and her family and the little one to come. If everyone is in agreement, I can email her (got her email address a little while ago) and just check that all is well. I'll wait until Monday for everyone to give their opinion on this.

And just in case anyone is wondering about disney54us, she is fine but very busy. I email her about once per week to keep in touch. She's missed so much and worries about catching up. I tell her not to worry about it but it's a work in progress.

I think you should email her. That will show her that her friends care.

Tell Disney54us I said hello! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I'm back from being in an unairconditioned box in 90-100 degree weather. I've been back for a few days. I left my DH and DD alone in the house for 2 weeks, so it's taken me awhile to bring back the house to a livable condition. I see it will take me awhile to catch up with everything as I was on pg 69 and you all are on pg 113!

Welcome Back!!!! We missed you. :goodvibes

Quick "Hi."
I'll try to check back in a bit...

Quick Hi Back

I figure kind-of-good news is better than horrible news. :) Thank you for your prayers. Those go a long way.

Me too! I love coming home to a nice clean house. Of course DH and DS are not going on this trip so they will probably have trashed the place before I get back.

Whew! Some major storms rolling thru here... But, DH is home, and he says its sunny there. (only about 20min away.)

I think we are getting the bad storms here now. Pretty windy and the thing on the bottom of the screen says "Deadly lighting" :scared1:

Funny, I have another wedding in August, and the couple are Luke and Leah!

Is that their real names? Too funny! It will be like Star Wars "Live" or "3D" :3dglasses

Sounds like a good day to me!:thumbsup2

lighttech-First field trip!! I know you're apprehensive about the bus and all but he's going to love it. Think of all the great stories he's going to tell you and DH...and don't forget the baby is going to hear it all too. I'm overprotective too so I understand. DD6 took her first "big" field trip this year with school. Kindergarten and they went to the Philly Zoo. We live up the Lehigh Valley so it was a long bus ride. I worried about everything and for nothing it seems. She loved it and came back with tons of stories for me. You're not being silly....just being a mom.

TTFN!

Do they go on a mini bus or a big one? I'm sure they have enough adults along and are careful. After all, they probably spend big bucks for insurance. Just have a talk with him and first ask him how he going to sit on the bus. Then explain it's not the same as a car and the children need to sit carefully so the bus driver can do his/her job safely. Mommies are allowed to have paranoid moments as long as the kids don't know about them and make them paranoid. ;)

I love those days! I do those more often than I'd like to admit. Of course, usually I'm cleaning while the little ones are outside with their older siblings. But it still feels good not to worry about anything, you know.

Maybe someone else was able to save you. I was just looking for newbies or low post counts and saw that one. You were the only one who answered. I don't see what else could be said except directing them to the correct thread and it seemed you had seen them there already? You were just keeping her from being a TKer. We all know it's good to be a Tker but not everyone shares our high standards.

Okay, I am losing my Multi-Quotes,

so....THANKS to everyone who has offered encouragement and prayers for my Dad. It means a lot and I don't want anyone to feel like I did not acknowledge them...it is just those darn multi-quotes being difficult. :rotfl: It kept a few this time (My first post I thought I had them all then they were gone???) Same thing happened this time so I am just gonna "go with it" Probably user error.

Pepper! You're so pretty! And I concur about photo #2, your eyes come across so clearly. I can't wait to take "pics" with all my Tkers! And I also agree that this second doctor is taking a more encompassing approach, he wants to inform himself best of your father's situation and then figure out the best course of action. Your family is in my prayers too!

Awww, Thanks! I agree about the second Doctor. I feel like he is in much better hands now.

Glad that you and your family have found a Dr. that your Dad is more comfortable with. That is SO important!! Prayers your guys' way.

Speaking of Ramsay, I know someone on here mentioned thinking he was sexy. I had never thought that before, but when he actually lowered his voice to explain how hard of a choice this was and told the two finalists how proud he was... Must admit that accent sounds a lot sexier w/o all the attitude.

Thanks for the prayers!

Oh and Ramsey? one word...Ewwwww. :rotfl:

Thought for the day---Remember when we were complaining about the

Ha ha. Remember when Magikitty was wondering if the snow would ever stop?

Maybe I should not admit this, but I did not go out of the house today. Didn't even get the mail in. I still have my nightie on. Was just one of those days. I'll have to run the trash out tomorrow morning.

Sounds good to me... I've even got DS hooked on "Majammie Days." (how he says pajama.)

I think we are getting the bad storms here now. Pretty windy and the thing on the bottom of the screen says "Deadly lighting" :scared1:

:scared1: My first reaction was OH MY! HOW FRIGHTENING!!! Then, I thought... Isn't all lightening deadly? :confused3 I suppose it depends on whether you are just watching it from safely inside your own home or not, but I certainly don't want to find out first hand!

lighttech-First field trip!! I know you're apprehensive about the bus and all but he's going to love it. Thanks! I know he'll have such a great time.
Philly zoo, huh? A personal and nostalgic favorite since I grew up in the Philly burbs. We must have gone there like every other year for field trips as a kid. I really think its a good place.

Mommies are allowed to have paranoid moments as long as the kids don't know about them and make them paranoid. ;)

Thanks, that's a great idea about talking to him about sitting on the bus. He's really good about remembering rules, but influenced by other kids if he isn't aware of them. (Being around so many other kids in the daycare is still pretty new for him, and he's fascinated by their behavior... I get a report everyday. "Noah wasn't listening" "William kept me awake at nap." Not really tattling, its just conversation to him. But, pretty funny none-the-less.) So, explaining how to sit and behave will really have an impact. That makes me feel better.

OK, I am really going to go now. I'm starting to wake up pretty tired every day. (Just not comfortable at night anymore... I'm under the 2 mo mark now!) And, I keep saying I need to get to sleep a little earlier to help make up for it.

For those who were asking, on that note... I'm feeling pretty good, and so far everything is going well w/ baby. (knock wood, etc.) Dr. says things look like they are in good shape. I've got the normal aches and pains, of course, but nothing that's not to be expected. Although, I was mostly pregnant in the winter the first time, and I will say that the feet swelling in the heat has really caught me off guard! My feet and hands look kind of silly by the end of the day (to me, I'm sure no one else would notice.) :rotfl: And, I REALLY wish I could wear sandals to work. (No open toed shoes for safety reasons.)

Now, if I could just finish getting DSs "big boy" room done, so I could clean up and organize the) room he's in now (which will be the nursery) I'll be in good shape. The new room is all cleaned out (mostly
