Since we are driving down, we like to stay overnight somewhere. This year we are trying to make it to Savannah on the way down, That should only leave us about 5-6 hours to get to WDW the next day.

Wow, how many hours till you would get there? So your trying to book a overnighter in GA? I think we stayed in GA overnight when I was a kid and drove to FL

Mapquest says about 18 but with DH driving, I'm sure it will be less.

We did it last year and it really isn't so bad. The kids are really good car travelers so we are lucky.

Besides if we don't drive, how will I be able to stop at South of the Border and take pictures of Pedro for Pikester?

I stay at Fairfield Inn outside Savannah. It's only me driving and I don't want to go too long. I probably could go a little bit longer but don't push it. I think it was around 5 hrs from there. I left around 5 am though to get around DC by 7. I've never gotten reservations ahead. There's at least 4 hotels at that exit.
I'm going Nov 5 so I can vote before going. It'll be Patrick's (my jeep) 3rd trip down. He wants to wear his turkey Mickey ears antenna topper. I'm packing his Pilgrim hat in case one gets stolen. Cannot have a naked Patrick! I'm also taking Pal Mickey. With luggage restrictions, I don't think he would fit in my carryon so I'm glad I'm driving.

True true, ah Pedro . We stopped to at South of the Border, gosh all these kid memories!!!
Hate mapquest, they take you the long way sometimes, or through local neighborhoods that you shouldn't be in. Anybody remember the old days when AAA would map your route, give a cool book and broshures??? In middle school we had to do some sort of travel project and how we would get there etc. and we all went to AAA.

How do you load pics on Photobucket? I registered and made an album name and am tring to upload but don't know what it thinks it's uploading. I do have a cd in my computer. Is that all you do? I have a slow computer system so it's taking forever and I may not even have anything.

I think AAA still will do the triptix for you. At least that is what my dad told me.

When I upload to photobucket, I use a picture that is already downloaded into my computer. Save the photos from the cd onto your computer under the my pictures folder. In photobucket it will have an add files button to click. A small screen will pop up with the photos and just click on one to download. With aol, it will take a long time.

I am so far behind but wanted to pop in.

I am sooooo tired I forgot how Middle Schoolers can take it out of you that and my feet hurt-it's hell having to wear real "grown up" shoes instead of my comfy athens or sandals.

We're doing great-DD is doing well too. I hope everyone here is good. Have we got a new TK'r yet?

Hey Bopsmom---no baby news. Know what you mean about the start of school. How's your voice? As a special teacher, I had a whole week of 1st days until all the classes got through the library the 1st time. It was awful to have to keep repeating the rules and same old thing to 25 classes.

I just had to keep it cool with all the questions-I remember once my best friend went on a field trip with my class she came home commenting that she swore that the kids said my name 35 times in 2 minutes and it almost drove her buggy-I hadn't noticed it at all I guess I will have to build up my "ignore threshold" again. I can't wait until everything settles down to 'normal ' too.

No, actually I took all 4 years of college Latin-I guess I was a glutton for punishment. My last final was translating the funeral mass. We did do cool stuff like do the translations for the Pompeii exhibit when it came to the US-boy that grafitti was raunchy even back then.
