Yes... It's an old song isn't it.
Loved it back when. ;)

I am totally in love with that song!

4 3 2 1 Earth below us, drifting falling, floating weightless :lovestruc

Did you just discover this song or are they playing it on the radio again?
Oh, wait... just checked UTUBE and found the video there. Strange to think its making a come back. My DH collects music and we have over 1000 CDs (before the days of downloads) of all types of music. He is a music encyclopedia (or should I say Google  ) I consult him for all my music trivia.

Oh, yesterday my dad was playing it in his truck. I recognized it and loved it.

Oh my, I just felt my age. I know Major Tom from my Bowie days....who is Peter Schilling? I'm going to have to text my nephew....and now I have "Young Americans" in my head. I'm going to have to dig out my Bowie's GH now....

D&D...I'm with your DH! (its not like it sounds). I still can't get into downloading. I love my CD collection. I love the physical case, reading the liner notes. When the DirecTv guy came over to hook up my TV he said I had the coolest music collection he had ever seen...quite a compliment for a young guy!

My cousin just moved to Hamilton last year for work. He used to live in Vancouver. He's always complaining about the weather too.

Why is it 40 degrees in the middle of May? We have a frost advisory for tonight. My poor tulips are confused....

Just Google Major Tom - Peter Schilling. You'll recognize it when you hear it.

As for your flowers, if you have your anuals outside already, like I do, then cover or bring them in. We had a frost warning and it actually did FROST last night.

Gotta leave this coversation for now. Kids are getting hungry so I suppose I should feed them.

I have never covered my tulips. I didn't know I had to do it. They've been around forever. Would a tarp do ok?

Pepper? Pepper? Are you here? There's a notice on the budget board that Rei.outlet has Teva sandals on sale for like $15. Thought of you and your great sandal hunt....

Melanie, please don't take this the wrong way...but I hope you don't run into my cousin at his work. He's an ortho resident and if you run into him that means you need to have something fixed! :rotfl: Otherwise, he likes Hamilton, but hates the fact that its so cold and he couldn't go skiing anywhere! (I can't beleive I'm related to this guy). :dance3:

I never go to Hamilton, i'm more of a stay at home kind of person.

Like currently, im writing a book.

You're writing a book? How fantastic! I must admit, when I saw your name, I was thinking of a book I just finished where one of the main characters was named Melanie also. Its called the Host by Stephenie Meyer. Have you heard of it? I highly recommend it! I was so sad to see it end. I may have to re-read it....

What are you writing about, if I may ask?

I'm presently following a thread on the budget board about a greedy mother and her inappropriate response to a cheap gift for her 6 year old. Its fascinating...

The book is about a girl named Melissa. She is 17, and she was forced to move to Florida right before the summer vacation. She was really upset with her parents because they didn't really tell her that they were moving until the week before. She kept telling herself that she was going to have the worst summer ever. But that is SOOO not true. it's all thanks to a 19 year old boy named Kory. Although he has a girlfriend, he can't help but to feel a little thing for Melissa. Melissa feels the same way about him, but the two never tell each other how they are feeling. Not the typical teenage book trust me.

Good for you! If you haven't already, I would recommend you check out the Twilight series from Stephenie Meyer. Also not the typical teen romance...

In the interest of getting to know everyone, does anyone have any pets? I have alot. I have 7 dogs, 1 cat, 1 rabbit, 1 bird, and 2 hamsters. Our newest furbaby is our Yorkie named Sassy.

WOW. Ya'll have been very chatty.

I though of my DIS friends on my trip this weekend.

Hi killers, just popping in to say hi and let you know I haven't fell off the face of the earth!!!!
Whew. I can stop holding my breath now.:lmao:
Thanks for checking in.

Shmu - Yea! on the no ashthma troubles... and on the cold getting better. And, I know you didn't really want a competition... Just kidding around.
Thanks.
Oh, but I can be so competitive. (enter evil grin smilie here)

Good Evening!!

My name is Melanie, and I am generally new here. For the past few weeks I have been hanging out on the Teen Board, but im looking for some more friends to make. I am currently 17 years old (well just turned 17).

:)
:welcome: Glad you stopped by.:hippie:

Thank goodness you're feeling better Shmu! What flavour of ice cream did you get?
Went to a new Ben and Jerry's that opened up near us. I had a $5.00 gift certificate. Got a mint chocolate chunk hot fudge sundae. Big splurge. I have really been watching what I eat lately.

Hello, I would be doing much better if I didn't wake up with a sinus infection. Already got the antibiotics flowing and will be good as new in a day or so.
So sorry. I feel your pain since I just got over one.

Oh my, I just felt my age. I know Major Tom from my Bowie days....who is Peter Schilling?
That's exactly what I thought.:rotfl2:

I am sitting here at my computer with the window up and I smell the freshest honeysuckles in our backyard. What a nice sweet smell. Wish I could send some of the scent everybody's way.

Ah, Kim, you have me beat! And Sassy is just precious. I have an all rescue squad: my dog, Vader, is a rottie mix; 4 cats of various sizes and questionable pedigrees.

Oh, Shmu, why'd you do that? Now I'm totally thinking of Ben and Jerrys! (I'm so suggestible). Mmm...cherry garcia for me! Or New York Superfudge...or that mint chocolate chip stuff. Yum! Send some honeysuckle my way please! Ok, I'll just live vicariously through you and your open window...

No pets here. I sometimes wish I had a fish.

WOW!!! Quite the chatty bunch today, aren't we?

Welcome to our new folks.

I found us on page 4! :scared1:

I spoke to my mother and my SIL about the graduation issue. We are going to take all the lovely suggestions and just attend the ceremony and not sit together. The most important thing is to be there for the twins. We'll have separate celebratory dinners, twice as much fun! My nephew still has a bit of anger about it (so do I) but you can't choose your family, you can only choose how you conduct yourself.

MK I'm glad that you've decided to go. I hope it goes very well, and the "stinky people" (as my Grandma used to say) don't ruin things for everyone.
