Pikester... everybody's welcome to it. If you can copy it from my siggie, feel free.

MagiKitty - I'm so sorry. That really stinks. Is there anyway you guys could all attend the graduation, but sit separately? Then maybe one group could do a pre-lunch and one could do a post dinner?

Gotta run! Sorry so short!

Thanks, lighttech, I know my part of the family could behave and enjoy the day, but I'm not so sure about the other mother and sister. My SIL doesn't think it would work just because of the people they are and have been in that past. (the first wife even told my second brother not to invite my parents to his wedding coz she was going to be there. Mind you, my parents paid for it too!). Over the years, its just been better to keep us separated. Also, if the first wife acts up against my mother, I cannot guarantee that I'll act like a lady!

MK, I was gonna suggest the same thing. That way you and your family could be there and enjoy the graduation, but never have to have any contact with the witch and her family. And the pre-lunch and post-dinner would meet everyone's needs. Do you think your brother is willing/able to tell his mother that this is the way it is going to be, and if she can't agree to it, she is not welcome?

So sad that things have to be this way. I am grateful that my family all gets along. Well, except my mom's sister's daughter who is a wacko and can't even get along with her brothers! But we almost never see her, so it's OK.:lmao:

OK, we are off to visit friends from church. Their son and Laura are "a couple". (yeah, I know, a coupla what!):rotfl2: But they have been close friends for several years. His Mom and I are also very close, and Danny likes hanging out with his younger brothers. So we are going over to hang out and have dinner. They are grilling burgers and dogs, so I am bringing a chicken burger for me and some salad and organic tortilla chips. That way I'm OK with food. The kids can eat the regular stuff, of course. Laura and I made a big batch of chocolate chip cookies, so now my house smells soooo good (I'm glad we're leaving!). We're bringing those for dessert, and any leftovers will STAY there!!!:rotfl:

Later killers!

i'm just popping in to say hi. i'm so behind, i've been really busy and even now i don't have time to read back.

 for your mom.

Oh dear... I can see this turning into a competition... popcorn::
Didn't mean for it to be a competition. Just posted to have a roll call. But a competition could be fun.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Okay...so now I have to post mutiple times just to keep up w/ you all???:lmao: How did you find the post count again?

Whoo Hoo! This was my first ever multi quote! :cheer2:
You go girl.:thumbsup2

I know CrocsRX would probably be perfect for her, but she hates Crocs.
I was a no Crocie too until last visit.
They are comfortable, but I also agree with whoever said to change shoes also. Have two good pairs of something. Test them out before the trip.

Hello everyone, my name is Kim and I was invited to your thread by Pepperw23. She told me that everyone was the nicest bunch of people here.

I post alot on the community board, camping board, and the theme park board. I am always looking for new and interesting threads to read and post on. I have read through alot of the thread and everyone seems very nice.

I just wanted to say hello and to thank Pepperw23 for the invitation.

Glad to have you here.

Ok, guys, my day has been ruined.

Reminds me of my Christmas.
Remember how I was "uninvited" to spend Christmas Eve with my Dad.:sad2:
So sorry. I do like the idea of sitting separately.
Hope it works out.

yesterday was my son's 2nd birthday! i feel like he was just born 6 months ago!
I know what ya mean. DS will be 19 on Tuesday and I can still remember him breathing in my ear at the hospital room as a newborn.

Hey everyone else.:hippie:

I have slept most of my weekend away.
Allergies turned into sinus infection.
Settled in chest.
Not good. Remember I have asthma.

BUT here is the GOOD news. I am not having any problems with my asthma and I thank GOD for that.
This is a major breakthrough.

Getting better.
In fact I'm well enough to go out.
My DH is taking me out for ice cream.
I'll check in later.

I try to avoid touting where I work... I don't want to sound like an add... but we have some good deals on birkenstock sometimes at QVC. So, if you haven't left yet... check out qvc.com

Also, if you have one in the area, I've seen them occasionally at Sams Club for VERY good prices.

Here's the link to the QVC website-
http://www.qvc.com/cgen/render.aspx?qp=class%7c6433&plpb=G|3|24|1|1

And, the nice thing is that they have a 30 day money back guarantee, so if she doesn't like them, you've got a month to send them back. (you'll lose the shipping, but that's it.)

I will check that out! All I ended up with yesterday were the Tevas that she LOVED and some Crocs flip flops, which she liked. Thanks for the information!!!! And thanks everyone for your advice. I had fun yesterday shoe shopping ha ha.

Kim

Your here!!!! Welcome!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ok, I have a question. How many times or how long do I have to post on this thread before I am allowed to have one of these
mesthreadkilla1.gif
in my siggie?

Now works. You are official from day 1 around here.

Welcome aboard!!
(and thanks for the compliments Pepper... you really shouldn't mislead people like that though... )

Shhhh, it is all part of my secret plot for us to become a "world power thread" ;)

MagiKitty- I agree with everyone else. Don't let them ruin your fun day. :flower3: You know you can always vent to us.

Hello to everyone else!!!!

Oh Pikester, I ordered that bag yesterday too. Yay me. :) My Dad cracks me up he said "good, now I will have room lots of stuff" Who knows what the heck he is talking about lol. :rotfl2:

Whgrn: She said Cape May only had some limbs down. It was worse north of there. She mentioned Wildwood but OC had worse wind---gusts to 75mph. :scared1: We stay at the PortOCall in OC. In our younger years, we braved the boarding house places. Then we loved the Sun Aqua near the little fishing pier but that changed to apts. When she goes with her hubby, they usually stay in Cape May at wherever they get the best deal. I went to the zoo for the first time last year and really enjoyed it.

Lighttech: I'ld rather see KB burn up than out but that's just me!
Saw some cute statements about seniors and just had to share these:
whgrn

I'm sure everything I can't find is in a safe secure place, somewhere.
I'm a walking storeroom of facts..... I've just lost the key to the storeroom door.

Love the senior sayings:cloud9:

I guess this is me. I killed the last thread and not cannot stop talking on this one. You all will have a chance to catch up. I won't be back until Tue pm. Mom's having a colonoscopy that am.

I'm going to see the Grass Roots at HersheyPark Sunday night. There are groups every Sunday night. They did Midnight Confessions, Temptation Eyes and Two Divided by Love in the late 60's and early 70's I think. It's in the park so there's nothing extra to pay. Season Passers even get free parking.

Racetrack: This one's for you... It just made me think of KB! :lmao:
We saw them at Epcot!

I noticed that when we were in Jersey. Ha ha. Fools me every time because her in VA. there ain't a full service gas station to be found. :rotfl:

Lightech- That is one cute kid!!!!!

Okay, you guys ready for the best news EVER???? It actually happened yesterday but because a fellow Disser is interviewing I wanted to fill her in first but now I can say.....drumroll........

BEAKER IS GONE GONE GONE..........:

Oh, while I am thinking about it, I have been meaning to ask you guys for some advice.

My Mom who is going with us to Disney this year has always been extremely healthy except for one thing. Her feet swell really bad when she wears shoes and walks for long distances.

She has always had this problem, no cause for it that any Dr. has been able to find. My question is: Do any of you know a good pair of shoes/flip flops that will help alleviate this for her? Funny thing is when she takes off her shoes the problem goes away.

I know CrocsRX would probably be perfect for her, but she hates Crocs.

Any suggestions?
I was going to suggest Crocs.:rotfl:

Hello Kim!

Good Sunday everyone!

:welcome: Kim! So good to meet you. Hope you decide to stay.

Pikester...you're more than welcome to have a TK banner! Now, if I can only figure out how to get it to you....give me some time. It took me ages to get it myself!

Ok, guys, my day has been ruined. My SIL informed me today that my father's first wife and my older sister have decided to come to NY for my niece and nephew's high school graduation. It is putting it nicely to say that we do not get along. Both of them are openly hostile to my mother, my sister, and I. My older sister will only see my father alone. The first wife is a drama queen and is sure to cause a scene. I'm heartbroken, I love my twins so much and am so happy to see them graduate. But I can't risk the incident if the two sides of the family show up at graduation, and can't take anything away from the day from my twins. Its a mean, spiteful act on their part. They're the kind of people who are only there for the triumphs, who enjoy the good times. My nephew told me he'd rather have us there, but I told him not to worry about it. We'll have out own celebration at another time.

I'm trying to be a nice person and stay positive for my eldest brother and his family. He's in an awkward situation; it is his mother also. I do kinda wish he'd grow a set and do the right thing, stand up for my mother and father. After all, we're the ones who have been there for each other all these years. His mother only comes around when she wants something. My SIL and even the kids are dreading this visit, and I can't help at all except step back and let them enjoy as much as they can. I haven't told my own mother yet, I'm dreading it. The twins are the first grandchildren to graduate from high school, and essentially she is being forced out. She's already taken the day off from work, this is going to get ugly.

Thanks for letting me vent. I just want to scream I"m so mad about it all. But I have to put on a brave face for the twins who already feel so bad. Grr...some people are so selfish. I wish I could say that for the kids' sake we could all put on a brave face and attend the graduation together. But my SIL said that basically the mother said there is no way for all of us to be in the same room together. Is it wrong to want to kick an old nasty woman?
That's terrible! Could you just not acknowledge anything they say or do? Just pretend they don't exsist? That would drive 'em crazy. :rolleyes1
whgrn I feel for your DD.

Well, I'm back. Had fun but now have new problems. The motor that cranks up the roof had been recalled for a potential problem. Got it "fixed" and now it only lifts the roof if plugged into electrical supply. Not very helpful in a regular campsite. AND now our refridge won't work on 120V power. Only have 3 weeks before we go to California to watch the PGA Tour. We are planning to camp during the week. :headache:

Thanks everyone for the nice welcomes.

I hope everyone had a nice Sunday. My husband dragged me to Hobbytown today (he messes with trains) and then we took a long ride on the motorcycles.

Well I am off to take my dorkie Yorkie for a walk.

Bye for now, Kim

Oh Kim, I feel your pain lol. I hope you got home before the rain hit!!!

DL55: :wave2:

It is raining cats and dogs here!!! Me and DD just barely made it out of Bed Bath and Beyond and in to the car before the sky let loose!!! I hope it stops soon because she is getting ready to get in a car with a friend to go to youth group. Makes me nervous even though it is just right up the road.

Wonder where everyone (besides us ha ha) has been all weekend?

We just added another day on to our trip today. My parents didn't want to drive home on my Dads B'day. DH is going to be so thrilled  . He is already fussing about "Florida again". He loves me though, so he is going to go. :lovestruc And he will go next time...and next time. I guess I will surprise him with a Braves trip in the next month or so. Hook him up with a good ballgame and he is happy.

Thanks Shmu. Nice to know I'm not the only one stormin' the gates of Heaven for my baby girl!!

Sorry you've been under the weather, but glad you're feeling better. How was the ice cream??? (salivates just thinking about ice cream...)

It poured here too. The sky suddenly got BLACK, and the black got lower and lower. I was actually looking for a funnel cloud!! Fortunately, when it was time to cook on the grill, the rain stopped, and when it was time to drive home, the sun came out. I hope it's decent tomorrow. Grant and his helper are supposed to take down my old shed. Original plan was Friday, but it poured all day, so we'll try again tomorrow.

I found us on page 4! :scared1:

I hope its just one of those Monday things. Thankfully, on my end, it seems that Monday is passing rather quickly. Thank goodness!

before I forget....Happy Birthday Dennis! You've made our world so much better.

I spoke to my mother and my SIL about the graduation issue. We are going to take all the lovely suggestions and just attend the ceremony and not sit together. The most important thing is to be there for the twins. We'll have separate celebratory dinners, twice as much fun! My nephew still has a bit of anger about it (so do I) but you can't choose your family, you can only choose how you conduct yourself.

Could that be sun I see through the window? May be! I hope so!

Where are my TKer friends? I hope that you are all out there in the world doing wonderful things and that you'll stop in soon....otherwise, have a good day! :cheer2:

Shmu,
I am so glad to see you are starting to feel better!!!! :jumping1: :donald: :dumbo: :tigger: :tink: :mickeyjum :flower1:
Me too. Thanks.

Thanks Shmu. Nice to know I'm not the only one stormin' the gates of Heaven for my baby girl!!
That's what this life is all about.
Never meant to be handled alone.:thumbsup2

OK-----This is my first day in a while without sudafed

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

More great news.
I took some old broken gold to a jewelry store up the street to sell.
They gave me $260.
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Having a great day so far.
Nice to not be sleepy from sudafed.

Hi MagiKitty!:wave2:

:bday: to Dennis.

I though of my DIS friends on my trip this weekend. We went to the Albuquerque Zoo and their Aquarium and Botanical Gardens. We ate lunch at the aquarium. The restaurant had views of the big tank. I thought how neat, a cheaper version of Coral Reef. (I've always been too cheap to eat at the Coral Reef, DH doesn't eat fish anyway)

Hi killers, just popping in to say hi and let you know I haven't fell off the face of the earth!!!! Though it feels like it:confused3, don't have time to read and catch up things are still crazy and this will be a busy week again, I think I am looking forward to May being over!!! So much to fill you in on and so much I've missed. Take care!!!!!

DS is just waking up from a much needed nap. (He's pretty much done w/ them, but he had a big week.) so, I can't stay on... but I did at least get a chance to catch up.

Magsnden - Happy Birthday to Dennis!!! I know what you mean. DS turned 3 on May 2nd, and I couldn't believe it.

Shmu - Yea! on the no ashthma troubles... and on the cold getting better. And, I know you didn't really want a competition... Just kidding around.

MK - Glad you seem to be formulating a plan.

Kim - Funny... Most everyone else, I can't remember their real names, but since you used your name in your post, now I can't remember your screen name. Glad you are enjoying it here, and I may have to hit you up for help already... I'm thinking about doing some train stuff for my son's new room, and if you pay any attention to your DHs hobby (I know I try to ignore 1/2 of my DHs... but he's a man of 1000 hobbies) I might have to pick your brain if you don't mind.

Whgrn - Mmmmm... cookies. Girl you have serious willpower. I could never bake cookies w/o eating them.

Speaking of... Just treated myself to a cup of coffee (the real stuff WITH caffeine) and an apple cider donut and in my pregnant state... I'm on :cloud9:

Well back to reality. Put down the coffee and pick up the :laundy: . I like this one :surfweb: much better. :goodvibes

Take care... and Hi to anybody I missed!

I know CrocsRX would probably be perfect for her, but she hates Crocs.

Any suggestions?

Oh...I love this woman:love: Sound very intelligent!

Just had to quote that quickly. Now I'll go back and catch up.

Ask any train questions you want and I will help you if I can. If I can't answer your question I will just ask my husband. He has a big sheet of plywood that has a train village on it. Maybe when he gets it closer to being done I will post a picture of it if you think that might help.

Kim
