Need to get ready to go up to school and set up for the 'big' party. Will try to catch up later, have a great:love: day killers!!!!

barely time to check in, have to get to school for the "party."
my poor maggie has had a runny nose for days, and the way she wipes it has made her nose all red. i really didn't want to let her go today, but she was so sad, crying and saying "but i have to go today mommy. today is the party and i can't miss it."
uggh so sad. i'm probably a terrible mom for sending her, but would i have been a terrible mom for not letting her go? please make me feel better. i should add that she starts school at 9 and the party's at 10, then home at around 11 today.

i'm trying to make myself feel better. can you tell?

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

A very happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Don't worry magsnden, I would have done the same thing with my 4 yr old.:)

Happy Valentine's Day Ya'll:love:

I did have a really cute mickey Valentine made by Amy but since she had to remove her art (thank you Disney lawyers:headache: ) I decided to send ya'll this.

Don't worry Magsnden I would have sent my girl too.:goodvibes
If she just had a runny nose and not with a fever you have no worries.
Poor baby with the red nose. I hope she gets better.pixiedust:
I used to give DD a hanky, nice cotton or even a soft bandanna when she got sniffles so bad it made her nose red. It was softer than paper tissue.(ok, I now realize that I am a true Texan when I have several colored bandanna in my top drawer:rotfl: ) She still carries a hanky(clean) in her backpack.
A little vicks on the chest helped too.
Gotta go to the class party. Check back later.

Magsnden...you did the right thing. Its the time for sniffles--I'm sure your little one wasn't the only one fighting a bit of a cold. And the special party! Of course you had to let her go. I still have valentines from first grade. It was very special.

I use handkerchiefs too! Only in the Philippines, we call it a "bimpo". I always have a bimpo on me. Its great for sniffles, sweating, emergency carrying and spills. And bimpos don't leave little tissue bits all over. My grandmother was big on being "a lady". I always had to carry my bimpo. She even sewed curtain weights into my school uniform so my skirt wouldn't fly up. I now have little safety pins with magnets on them (can't find curtain weights with holes in them) that i use on my filmy skirts in the summer just to avoid any accidents.

Oh, Vicks was so nice when you didn't feel good. My mother used to put a little Vicks in the humidifier when I was stuffy. I had a dragon humidier. I used to love the smoke come out of his nose.

Ah, nostalgia. Anyone get anything good for VD?

Doesn't Puffs make a tissue with lotion in them to prevent a red nose?

Happy Valentine's Day. Love the VD art.

AUdisfan can't wait to read your TR! :thumbsup2

MagiKitty Hope you can have a commitment ceremony at least. :bride: :groom: Whatever happens make sure you get legal papers in order (a will, power of attorney etc) so you can take care of each other.

magsnden your DD will be just fine, besides she probably caught the cold at school anyway. :upsidedow

Hey all, Happy Valentines Day!! I've read thru and done all my multi quoting, and now I realize I have only 5 minutes left until the end of lunch! I think I'm overextended, so I apologize if I short change these answers.

We were there on Fat Tuesday, and random people would just walk up and hand you beads. (You didn't even have to flash 'em or anything.:rotfl: )

Now I'm thinking of all this stuff I want to write about. Maybe I should just take the plunge and do a trip report. But would anybody read it? That would be embarrassing if nobody read it.

Gotta go for now.

Later killers!

Maybe you should've flashed 'em anyway! :lmao: Can you imagine Disney's reaction to that! :scared1:

We'd Read It!!! Yes we would. Go for it. I'm so far behind on mine, but its been so much fun to remember all the little details.

Ah, I am fantasizing about the baked goods I could make. Sadly, I don't think marriage is in my path, let alone gift registries. See, my BF has CP and had disability benefits. If we were to marry, he would lose those benefits and be under my insurance. But the benefits he gets from the state are far more comprehensive and I could never ask him to give up those for me. I read a TR by another couple (he has CP) and they're in the same situation. Its sad, but I have a wonderful life and although I would love to be recognized by the Church and the state, its just something I have to dream about for me in another life.

I'll just have to start a kitchenaid piggy bank.

Sorry to make this sad. Let's go back to apple pie. Mmm...

I won't get up on my soapbox about medical benefits, etc right now. But, I just wanted to send out a hug about the whole situation. Whenever you guys are ready for that kind of step, the decision shouldn't have to be based on such basic things. It really stinks.

And, definitely treat yourself to the mixer anyway if you can. I LOVE  mine.

Still can't get my picture posted. Can't a an http address. I've tried copy and paste w/ no luck. :headache: Any ideas????

One of the ones I can't do right now w/o getting into trouble, but I'll come back and post later or tomorrow. I use Photobucket now to post pics, and its just so easy. I'll go thru the steps and do one and right down what i do. Then I can post it and maybe it will help you and anybody else who is trying. Trust me, I'm no computer whiz. :surfweb:

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I agree w/ everyone else. How could you NOT let her go. And, if I had a nickle for everytime someone showed up w/ a cold at DSs babysitter... well, I could afford the babysitter! I have some suggestions for you too for the nose, but no time.

Real quick... Pedia care vapor strips. Ever try 'em? I'll post more later, but its a little plug in that you put menthol strips into at night. DS loves them, and they clear him up so well.

Ugg late for a meeting. See ya!

ok, gotta go make lunch but just checking in.

i was HUGE into burp cloths when these guys were babies. just so useful with all the spitup, runny noses, spilled bottles, drool. so i have a ton still and i give them to her and i use them on dennis too. but somehow it's still red.
i have used those vick's plug ins. i should get some more.

ok, be back later!

Do you trust Photobucket? I was looking on their site but was leery of putting any pics out there and registering. :scared:

Don't feel bad, I'd have done the same. In fact, I HAVE done the same!:rotfl: And I guarantee every mom in that class has done it too. It's just the sniffles, not the flu!

I love Photobucket, and I've never had a problem with having my pictures "out there". Go for it--it makes it SOOOO easy!!

I use photobucket and shutterfly. I only have limited space on my laptop, so I backup my photos to disc and I load them on these sites. So just in case something happens to my computer, I still have access to my pictures.

Actually, in this month's Real Simple magazine, they recommend both of these sites, so I pretty much trust their safety. But then again, I was part of a Photopass share, so there ARE people out there with my pictures!

Ok, I gave into the commercialism of the holiday and I don't care! I had some chocolate covered cashews and I ordered the Jane Austen BBC collection--something I've been coveting! Happy Valentine's Day to me! BF is just happy that I won't be complaining about it anymore--but now he either has to watch the miniseries with me or lose me for days while I watch it!

here's a couple of the little munchkins that keep me up at night from time to time! :rotfl:

well those may look ok, but here's a funny one that describes the photo shoot a little more accurately!

By magsnden

that's me! i need to look for a *good* picture of myself. i'm usually holding the camera, so it's difficult.

Toooo cute, magsden! :cutie:  I remember when mine were that little. Ahhh, those were the days! And getting them to pose for pictures now is WAY harder!!

oh you are kidding me!! harder??? now that i look closer, he's laughing in that picture, but there was a lot of crying.. and then we had to call it, when maggie started the crying, and we were yelling! nice time to take a christmas picture!

i can't find any of my after i cut my hair so here's one with the long hair at chef mickey's.

By magsnden

too close for my liking! but there's dennis staring at goofy. he loved all the characters. it was funny. i guess you really can't see my hair so pretend it's short!

Oh magsnden you and your children are so beautiful! They look like little dolls--they're gorgeous. Those curls and smiles in their Christmas outfits! I'm in love.

Ignore me, my ovaries are crying again. Babies! Babies!

magikitty, i am laughing! you are very funny!

so i read a little of last night's discussion and your reasons not to get married. what about your ovaries??!! lol!

seriously, you sound like you would be a great mommy! you can't let them keep that from you!
