barely any time to write, but had to tell you to check out the crocs called mammoth. they have fur, but i wear socks too, because otherwise my feet sweat! they are soooo comfy. if i had more time i would post a link here. later, i will!

I have them and I LOVE them! I wear them all the time! They are as comfy as the regular crocs, but warmer. You can even wear them without socks!

you're so right, i wear them around the house all the time without socks. but when i go out of the house (gasp d&ddisney!) i need socks. maybe i just have sweaty feet?

and dreamin, you definitely have to get some for disney. after about 4 days in disney with sneakers on, i had to switch. and they do still feel comfortable after a few days. i would bring sneakers and crocs.

do you guys understand when people where heels at disney?? i don't get it!

i'm going to try to put some links for "nicer" looking crocs!

i tried them on and they felt so good! maybe i'll treat myself for my trip in less then 2 weeks (yay!!)

Hey there! I missed you guys! I'm still 5 pages shy of catching up, but I wanted to post while I could. Sorry if these replies are out of date... who knows, updates in pages 85 thru 89 may have already made them obsolete.

I've been off for almost a week! Slap my wrist... Anyway. Glad to be back (again) I just can't keep up with you all...

But, I'll try to get back on track.

Yeah, we are pretty excited about the trip even though it's so far away. I figure after planning for the Disney trip, I'll need a break. :goodvibes What are some of your "don't miss" things out there? I don't know if we ever get back there, so I want to make sure we see the best of the best.

Youngest DD is 4 now and I still haven't left any of the kids with a non-family babysitter. Thankfully, we have always had family close-by if we needed to go out somewhere. I've been working with DD11's conflict resolution between the 2 younger ones. Maybe one day, she'll be able to help us out a night or two when she gets a little older. And the full report on what happened in their day is so funny....I get that from DD4 and I'm here with her all day.

They were very slow earlier. Just got back on and haven't seen how they are lately.

Oh if only....like he would go for that. :rotfl:

I'll give you a few things soon. Gotta think back. Plus, its only been a few years, but so much has changed. Personally, I like to spend a few days IN Vegas and then take a day trip out. All the hustle and bustle gets to me after a little bit. What kind of stuff do you like so I know where to point you?
There's shows, museums, restaurants, people watching, roller coasters, shopping, just about everything you could want. (The only thing I can't help with is gambling! :rotfl: I love Vegas, but I don't gamble! I know... weird.)

Hi guys!!! Just popping in to say hi. FIL did not come visit today, but I did talk to his wife. She said it is not time to panic yet, but my FIL is just a nervous wreck (understandable lol). I was able to get the "scoop" though. Basically he has a malignant mass in his right lung chamber. He is supposed to go to the surgeon on Tue (That was the announcement, that he is having lung surgery). We will know more after that visit. It is not officially lung cancer at this point. The Dr. says they may get the entire mass in surgery and that will be the end of it. We just have to wait and see.

Spooky girl has not sent anymore messages to DD. It may because DD's best friend is now dating the boy that caused it all. hahaha. Best friend however can and will defend herself lol. Bestfriend also sent "word" that spooky girl better leave my DD alone lol. We shall see....the saga continues. :goodvibes DS (19) got involved and involved the varsity baseball team at the High School (most of em' lol, those baseball players sure stick together) So she is now officially protected. I think it is getting on her nerves though lol. :confused3

MagiKitty....It was good to hear from you. :goodvibes

Read further on and saw the good news on FIL. Continued blessings and happy thoughts for even more good news.

Also, glad spooky girl has backed off. Kids can be so mean.

I've been a Disney Visa holder since Day 1 and I didn't get the offer. Oh, well...

Yesterday was a sad, depressing day for me (very unusual!). DS left to go back to college and isn't planning on coming back home until next Thanksgiving (we are going to go visit him in September). It was so much harder than when we left him down there this fall! I guess it really hit me that he is gone for good. :sad1: Then we started taking down our Christmas decorations and everything just seems so Blah...

I don't wanna take them down either.
Sorry about DS, but other posters are right. The fact that he's confident enough to go, and that he's pursuing his dream is a testament to your good parenting.

ok, i just found crocs on sale at sports authority....buy 1, get 1 at 1/2 half and it looks like i should be able to get free shipping too. :woohoo: Now I just have to convince DH that they are a necessity for our trip. :rotfl2: Or maybe I just won't tell him.:ssst:

Hi Killers, I wasn't on yesterday:scared1:, but just read through to catch up. Gee I feel I missed so much, and out of the loop:sad1:. Hey does anyone know when magikitty is back???
Pin trading: It started for the Millenium celbratation, we were there early Dec. and found out about it. It was really fun and most pins then were about $5.00, god I sound like one of those people who say I remember when gas was --p/gal. Back then people were real helpful to kids and my DD met so many nice people and learned alot. I think in Disney years, since they start there celebrations early and they usually run about 18 mnths. It was dec of 98, she would have been 8 then. What was nice was that when this started it was not about how much this or that pin may be worth, (ie people selling them for profit), so then people were willing to share info and tell her which pin is hard to find and if she finds it ask for a trade. We would have never known that CM's cannot refuse a trade and about CM pins, some if you got to know them would get them for you. I t was much fun and we have some of the originals. The following year 99 it was still going on and had grown huge, still fun. I think it was the year after that when DD was young enough to wear the laynards and not worry about being cool:laughing:, we were outside one of the art stores in MGM (DM has quite a collection) I was out there w/ her but about a foot away. I saw a CM, talking to her and as I walked up apparently he saw a original or hard to find pin on her lanyard and asked her to trade. She smiled and said no thanks I'm not interested in trading. I have no idea what pin it was or if it was worth big $$$'s all I know (which shocked me from a CM), his reply to her was "well why wear you laynards if your not interested in trading":scared1:. i was so taken back that that would come from a CM, and was so mad, that I didn't say something or get his name. After that year we brought the laynards but I think she was at the age that she didn't want to wear them to the parks. I still buy a few, but we are not as obsessed. DS never really got into them:sad1:, b/c I still find the original idea of it fun and have great memories of how many great people young and old that DD and us met:goodvibes. It is great fun, just watch out for the pin stalkers, I think there is still some that sell for 5.00-8.00 at WDW though harder to find in recent years. If you buy some there try to get some that tell a story about her visit that year (ie pins w/ the year, attractions that she loved, etc.) It's fun to look back, some years down the line and relive memories, even if it's when she was 11 and now is 14:).

okay, was on the ph w/ DN and DM came back and I guess we need to bump de bump. So here's a little bump. Goodnight Tk'ers :grouphug: have a good one!!!

Okay, killers really truly going to bed:rotfl:, but I can't leave us on page two:scared1:. Remember, I'm still having a hard time being on the CB. Don't get me started that I read a thread about if your over 150 pgs. the board makes you start again w/ a new name or something:confused3. Come on, I've seen post counts nearing 50,000 maybe those just had short pages:rotfl: Anyway, needed to bump us up and see if I missed anything, goodnight killers.
Sleep tight, :wizard: Later.

Getting ready to go to bed but wanted to bump us up first. A lot to catch up on. I did a quick skim. I'll read more closely tomorrow.:hippie:

Good Morning Guys! :wave2:

Rode the exercise bike at the gym yesterday for 1 hour (just to mix things up). Today is my day of rest! :faint:

Saw the Mammoth Crocs in the store but don't have them (yet! LOL). Here's my opinion on the ones I do have:

Capri (flip flops) - The MOST comfortable of all - also don't look as Croc-ish for those of you who care

Beach - Next most comfy, but the "ugliest"

Cayman - Look just like the Beach, but not as comfy (they are tighter, so they rub somewhat unless I wear socks)

Mary Jane - Cutest, but not as thick on the bottom, so not good for wearing all day at the parks

Alice - Dressier - I wear them to work, but not as comfy as the others.

I had Plantar Fascitis this Fall, so I wore my Crocs everywhere and it cleared it up beautifully. It's been so warm here that I wore the flip flops up until Thanksgiving. I'm hoping it'll be warm enough at WDW in 2 weeks to wear them then! :woohoo:

Have a great day! :goodvibes

Morning everyone! I don't have much time, but I didn't want to go a whole week again!

I have to figure out how to make a low-carb cheesecake to take to MIL/FIL's house tonight. (They are low-carbers, and I hate to take a dessert to their house that they can't eat!)

Here goes nothin'!

So who else is doing a pretrip or trip report? I've caught up on Shmu's and read MagiKitty's. Don't want to leave any TK out. If you have not seen these---they are a must read.
I have pack for my weekend trip to Mom's. Nothing is together...got caught up in reading these reports. She turns 77 Monday. Taking her to Hotel Hershey for lunch buffet on Sat---lots of chocolate deserts! We're going to General Sutter Inn in Lititz on Monday-her bday.

I've got a trip report sort of... I'm ashamed to say I haven't updated in quite some time. :confused3

Hotel Hershey.... mmmmm. I've never eaten there, but I've looked at the menu and my MIL has been for food and for some of their spa stuff. She always returns quite happy!

Good morning Killer's, how about forget the cheesecake and just bring fresh fruit?? Healthy, light and no baking!!:thumbsup2, you could add a yogurt fruit base dip if you want to get really daring:rotfl:.

I am most:confused3. all these different shoe names are they all croc's?? I did see someone w/a flip flop style last summer on the beach, they looked comfie and were cool looking. I asked and she said they were croc's. All I know is I would like to be the designer who made rubber shoes, that has taken off to know end and made so much $$$$. We would never have to worry about when our next trip to WDW was:rotfl:

Notifications, anybody got notifications??? yet:confused3 do you think we will ever see them again???

Hey guys :wave2:

It's been warm here on the Gulf coast so I have been out on my pink bike.
(1 week w/o:smokin:) I have been trying to mix up the routine so I haven't been on much. Not that I ever smoked inside the house-just sitting still too long makes me :hyper: and want to take a smoke break.)

:coffee: just thought I would add to the mix on the Croc issue.

I understand why some don't like them.
The clog kinda looks like Earth Shoes (man, talk about dating yourself.)

I haven't tried the Capris but I LOVE:lovestruc my Athens. My DD loves hers too.
BTW:Thank you for the sites and info. I want to pick up some sandals soon.:flower3:

On Memorial Day we were in DL, it was the last day of our trip and we were just going to pick up some gifts so DD and I just threw on our Athens. Well, we ended up winning dream passes for both CA and DL. We stayed till closing. We walked both parks-hot, crowded, etc. but neither had sore feet, it was great.

Is I said before, in June(the day I got home from the CA trip) I broke 4 toes(managed not to break the big toe) and dislocated all the joints on the same foot(big toe too). I could not put on a real shoe for months. I wore my Athens everywhere. DM bought me an all black pair to wear in the evening. It was summer and we live in a very casual city-thank goodness.

For those who still have reservations about the shoes...
Come over to the Croc Side.

:thumbsup2 one week w/o smoking that's the hardest.
How exciting about the dream passes.:woohoo:
I may have to actually try on some crocs. New Mexico is a little behind the times but I guess I could find some around here.

Bopsmom
You go on the no smoking! It does get easier, but that middle ground stinks. Keep plugging along, you'll feel so much better.

Dreamin' in PA -

Almost forgot! Do you know where you are staying in Vegas yet? There's some cool stuff to see/do down on Freemont street, but its a cab ride if you are staying on the strip. I'd recommend going down there for one night either way though, the light show over Freemont is really cool, and there's lots of little vendor stands selling cool (but touristy) gifts. Its just a nice place to walk around w/ a drink or an ice cream and spend some outside time.

lighttech-nope, have no clue where we will stay. I did find out that my dad stayed at the Imperial Palace when he went the last time. It's right in the middle of the strip and not too expensive. The pictures I have seen look nice so maybe we will stay there. I keep telling myself that i'll leave the planning up to dad but I don't know if i'll be able to stay out of it.:rotfl: I'll keep the idea about Freemont street in mind. We will be there for at least 5 days and I'm not much of a gambler so I think it would be cool to see some other parts of vegas besides the strip.

 Way to go on the smoking!!! I know how you feel, just haven't gotten there yet:guilty:. Was real good for a few days when I broke my feet, since I was in the hospital and when I came home was in much pain. Then slowly I would have a few a day, and before you know it, your back. I still have cut down quite a bit but it is time to kick it for good. What are athens?? maybe I could graduate to them from my sneakers:dance3:. Black is perfect, then I'll have evening wear shoes:laughing:.

Dreamin when are you going to Vegas?? I remember when you found out but I don't remember when.

Guys I found us on page 4:scared1:, but I don't know if that's correct b/c when I came on people were posting.
Just came home a little ago from DM's, we had dinner there her famous fried chicken:woohoo: love that stuff! Actually DH stayed home, he's sick.

disney54us :worship: :worship: :worship: I thought everybody had disappeared on here. You have saved me from thinking I killed our thread. :rotfl:

We are not going to Vegas until May of 2009 but it's never too early to start to plan, right? It will be our first trip anywhere without any of the kiddos and really want to make the most of it.
