Bopsmom-that little reply about getting a new little girl is great. :thumbsup2 I might have to borrow that one the next time one of my kids asks about getting another pet. So far this is what I know about the pin trading. It is very expensive to buy the pins in the park so many people buy them from ebay for alot cheaper. But if you buy from ebay, you have to watch out for "bad" pins. I found a couple of sellers that are suppose to be good (listed on the collections board). I can pm them to you if you want. I also found out that the cms with the green lanyards can only trade with kids 12 and under. Those with the blue lanyards can trade with anyone.

So, I decided DD can try this this year. And for now, she won't be trading with any other guests. For the first couple of days, I'll have to trade with the cms with green lanyards until she gets the hang of it.

:woohoo: on having all that done already. I really have to get on the ball with our trip. I am making our room ressies tomorrow. Maybe once I take that step, I'll concentrate on getting more things done.

:thumbsup2 You go girl!!
Then I'll thorw a little pixiedust: towards that too:rotfl:
I am 45 and DH is 50 a souvenir like that would :faint: us both!!:rotfl2: We can't even think of getting another pet, much less a kid!:scared1:
DD wanted to get a new kitten in the fall, she said Winkleman was getting kinda old and a new kitten or maybe one that was a few years old would be more fun to play with.( Winkleman and DD are the same age). She said she would still love Wink and give her attention just the same.
I said, "fine, I think I'll go get me a nice 3 or 4 year old little girl, since she was getting kinda old and a younger girl would be more fun to play with." I told her I would still love her and give her attention just the same.(I'm so mean;) )
DD was stunned, she has not asked for a new pet since.:lmao:

 To date: Booked flights, ADR's in place, ME booked, taken off wait-list and am getting a Boardwalk view:dance3: Not too bad at the 5 month mark. Even though ya'll know I will still be be running around before the trip "forgetting something".
Now I am getting ready to plan WDW Christmas '08. I may be sane sometime in August.:confused3

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
oh man, that is hilarious!!!!! i LOVE it! "since she is getting a little old"!!! too funny!

way to go with all your plans already! that's a huge step, and you're getting a boardwalk view! how cool.

i better get to bed, i'll prob check in again, though!

pixiedust: on the ressies

Borrow away, I kinda have a sarcastic streak, it comes from being a middle school and a high school:teacher: for too many years:rotfl: I sometimes just can't help myself. Lucky for me they all knew I was kidding-mostly.

Thanks for the info on the pins. :thumbsup2
I wouldn't want DD and BFF trading with other "strangers" yet either. She would have to do her "homework" on what are good pins and what are not. Goodness, we been through beanie babies, webkinz, I don't know if I want to start her on another "collection".
I hear that CM's give out tink pins for sharing magic; being caught doing something nice. It's 2 pins, one to keep and another to give to a stranger.

I had another idea for your DD might find fun. This Christmas I got a book about hidden mickeys and one that does "treasure hunts" in WDW,the other parks and resort areas. DD loves to read them and the treasure hunt book even has tasks you do-taking picutures mostly and you submit them to the publisher and you get a special pin for you collection. I will get the titles from DD in the morning. She and BFF have been scanning BWV hunt to get a head start. I thought this would be good, especially if the parks are really crowded.

Thanks:) . I was so happy to get the view. :dance3: How are your plans for "special" trip going?

I haven't had too many problems with collections yet. She only got her webkinz this year and other than that, she like to collect keychains. She's my easy child most of the time.

We have to the Hidden Mickey book too. We love looking for the hidden mickeys when we are there. DH laughed at us at first for looking for them until he found his first one. :rotfl: What is the name of the scavenger hunt book? DD11 might get a kick out of that too.

AUdisfan-yeah, they have the sit-n-stand strollers. That's actually what we rented when we were down. We have our own now that we use when we go somewhere with both little ones and we know crowds will be insane. DH didn't care for loading it on and off the buses...got kinda heavy after a long day in the parks. But the convenience in parks was incredible. DD (5 at the time) only needed to sit sometimes and it sure was nice not having to lift her out of the stroller for every little thing. She could just get in and out on her own. If you're interested, check out A Baby's Best Friend. http://www.abbf.com/index.html They have a variety of strollers and free delivery too. Oh yeah, we drove last year just so I could bring all my "stuff". :rotfl: DH didn't like it but he just doesn't understand. I certainly can't expect the plane to land because one of my kids wants some oddball thing that is in the luggage. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the info. I will definitely check them out. There's no way we could fly. My packing list is 3 pages!

Have a great Friday killers!

:bday: to your DS! Are you having a Disney themed birthday for him?

Thanks. Of course! He's having Pooh plates, napkins and cake. Actually, my family gives me a hard time because Disney themed birthdays are all we have around here. DDs birthday last May was Pooh also and we actually fixed up one of the trees in the backyard to look like Pooh's house. It looked just like the pictures in the story books complete with Pooh sitting outside. So cute. Next I want to do Tigger's house.:)

I've been Dis'ing so much they may call Cyber-SPCA to collect my Webkinz.
All the Moms in the neighborhood have Webkinz. We were "babysitting" our kids' ones so much (but they wouldn't let us do the fun stuff) that we went out and got our own. Mine are named after plants.(TigerLilly, a black cat named Dahlia, etc.) My BF's (an artist/art teacher) are named after artists (a cow named Moo'net, a duck named, QuacksonPollock, etc.) It really is silly and we laugh about it. It gave us something to talk about with our kids and their friends.

We have to the Hidden Mickey book too. We love looking for the hidden mickeys when we are there. DH laughed at us at first for looking for them until he found his first one. :rotfl: What is the name of the scavenger hunt book? DD11 might get a kick out of that too.
Funny:rotfl2: sounds just like my DH!
No problem, the book is PassPorter's Treasure Hunts at Walt Disney World Edited by Jennifer Marx and Kimberly Larner. I got it from Amazon.
Their website is www.passporter.com
I hope it's something she will like.

Doing the Friday :dance3::banana:Dance

This almost made me cry. I am a huge Pooh fan. Do you have any pics from this?

I am celebrating life today. My very best friend who is like a sister to me found out lump in breast is just a cyst and NOT cancer.:cool1: :yay: :cool1: :yay:
Just makes me want to go out and love on everybody. Can't really hug all of you but I'm sending you one over the net.

Yes, it was soooo cute. I do have pictures, but I can't post them b/c my computer is so old I don't have any way to put them on. The CD player on it doesn't even work any more so I can't even put them on that way.:sad2:

I'm so happy for your friend. I'm sure that's a giant relief for everyone around her.:goodvibes

Have a good day killers!

Hello All,

Just bumping us up again. I am mentally transporting myself to Disney as it is once again cold, snowy and cloudy here. :teleport:
Wishing for some sun:sunny: so if anyone has some please send it my way.

Schmu, thats great news. I'll do a little happy dance with you.

Bopsmom-thanks for the link to that book. Looks really great. I'll have to show it to DD when she gets home from school and see what she thinks. And if she doesn't want it, I might just get one for myself. :goodvibes

D&DDisney, cold and dreary here too but thankfully no snow. And to think a couple of days ago, temps were nearing 70. Can't send you any sunshine from here but here's this :sunny:

Shmu What great news for your friend. I just found out a friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. She's already had surgery and treatments. Now she has to have check ups every 6 months. :sad1:
D&DDisney I'll try to send you some sunshine. It's going to be in the 60s again. :wizard:
I've never done the pin trading because I can't part with my treasures. :rotfl:

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say hi and see how everyone is. Same old stuff here. I have not read everything yet, but I am gonna. :)

Okay, I'm jumping back to the Crocs topic.

I accidentally wore my oldest, most worn out pair of flimsy Keds to Epcot in December. By the two hour mark, my legs were killing me and I was desperate. I have friends who swear by Crocs, so I took a chance and bought a pair of the black ones with the red strap in the park. Within thirty minutes, my legs felt great. DD13 was humiliated in my presence because I made a fabulous fashion statement - black capri pants, white socks, black crocs. :scared1: Thank goodness no one in the group thought of pictures. But I actually wear the Crocs a lot around the house now - too cold to wear them outdoors in Upstate New York this time of year!

All the stroller talk made me remember about my DS. We had to kick him out of the stroller. I think he'd still be in it if we would let him.:rotfl: Heck, get me a stroller now that I think about it.

LOL, DD is 17 and we joke about getting a stroller and pushing each other in it! :lmao:

Sure can disagree and be friends. That's what makes the world go 'round.:thumbsup2 oh, p.s. they still look bright plastic to me!:rotfl2: Sorry..just couldn't let it go. I'm such a stinker sometimes.

LOL, you are so funny! I still love ya!

i have to tell you, i wouldn't be too upset if we came home with one of those "souvenirs!" if it's going to happen, and i obviously hope it will, i'd rather it be sooner than later - i'm quickly approaching that 35 year mark, and i want it to happen before i go back to work!

So, another item to put on my prayer list? ;)

That is hilarious! You are so bad!:rotfl2:

Oh great, THANKS - another book I HAVE to get! :lmao: We have the Hidden Mickey book also, and I just got the Imagineering Guide to the MK and Epcot for this trip.

Seriously, that sounds like a great book, especially since we've been so many times and are always looking for new & different things to do. :thumbsup2

Just makes me want to go out and love on everybody. Can't really hug all of you but I'm sending you one over the net.

That is wonderful news! Hugs to you and your friend :grouphug:

Okay, the good news: I walked 5 times this week for 1 hour each time. :cheer2: The bad news: I didn't lose even 1 pound :sad2: (I did eat less too). Oh well, I'm not giving up!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! party:

Praise2Him don't be discouraged. It will come off eventually, I just wish it would come off as quickly as it came!

I've seen the mommoth crocs in the stores around here. DD11 tried them on in the store and got that "dreamy" look on her face (the same look i get when thinking about another trip :rotfl: ) as she walked around the store. She tried them on with a pair of jeans and they didn't look too bad. I keep arguing with myself if I should go get some for our next trip. I know you said they were comfy, but have you worn them for long periods of time?

:lmao: :lmao: Too funny! Gotta side w/ DD on this one. I know how comfortable they must be. I will never argue comfort w/ Crocs. Many have stated it before. Just can't get past the look no matter what.

Hey everyone... Thanks for sending the sun. It is actually sunny here today so I will enjoy it while it lasts. You all are the best!
