thoughts on using gold...

do you think that using 'gold' in a game of potc is wrong or cheating? I've played so many games and been yelled at numerous times for using gold because apparently its cheating, when other games I've played its been fine!! I wasnt aware of this, yet when I try to stick by this 'rule' I end up getting hit with gold myself!
What do you think... opinions please?

I think gold is definitely not cheating. It's a part of the game.

If VMK thought it was cheating, it wouldn't be in the game.

Its in the game so no. Its kinda like in the game "Sorry". Where if you draw that card or roll the dice then the go back to the beginning.


I dont remember the game or how to play it, but I know there is a game like that.

There is NOTHING wrong with using gold. It is a strategic element of the game.

This kind of thing is one of the reasons I never play Pirates, though.

I agree, if gold was actually cheating it would not be a part of the game. Gold is rare and it isn't guaranteed to hit, so just having gold won't make you automatically win or something. Anyways, I wonder how many people actually report when someone kills them in Pirates with gold.

not really cheating since they introduced it in the game, I just hate when someone who is less good than me end me with gold
