Thoughts on late-mid-August?

Last year we did 8/15-8/22. This year and next year 8/26-9/2. The crowds definitely lessen the later into August you get. Wait times were noticeably shorter this year than they were on last year's trip, going only a week later. Hotter than all get out and it does rain but for us that was no problem. We made sure to have shoes that would dry quickly, baseball caps, sunglasses and ponchos and we were good to go. Getting to ride EE 8 times, PW 5 times and eat a qs dinner in just the 4 hours we were at AK shows how short the wait times were.
