I've been going on solo trips to Disney World for years and always do the Fantasmic Dining Package at Hollywood Brown Derby. I want something different this time. How does the 50's Prime Time Cafe handle solo diners? The ha-ha is fine when I'm traveling with others but for solo, I prefer to just eat quietly and enjoy the atmosphere. Can that happen?

I did it several years ago and my server was great! He introduced me to my fellow cousins at neighboring tables and it was a lot of fun! I had a great time but I do prefer the offerings at Brown Derby better...especially as I'm getting older. Go and have a great time!!

I've eaten at 50s Prime Time several times as a solo, only once with others. As a solo, my server was cordial and didn't do any "shtick" until I started-I asked if Grandma had been working all morning making my meal, then he got a little more into things. In other words, I find the servers very sensitive to how much you want, and will be too that amount (hope that makes sense). When I went with others, the server came over and immediately started talking about "No elbows on the table" etc. to the point where, after she walked away, someone in our group, who didn't understand the Prime Time ways said "Boy, she was rude!"

Just tell them at the check-in desk what your preference is. I usually use the phrases "The full show" or "Avoid the show and watch."

I have eaten at Prime Time a few times solo and asked for no show. It was fine. We (party of three) ate there yesterday and had a hilarious time with our server. We were on our “best behavior” most of the time, although my sister did get a talking to about hiding her vegetables under her chicken bones instead of eating them (eating your vegetables was one of our server’s “rules”). By the same token, she was much more toned down for some of her other tables so I assume they did not want the full experience.
