Thoughts on August

Just about every trip we have ever made has been in August. We find it less "populated". As far as the heat, well hot is hot. Whether it's 89 or 90, you won't feel the difference. I hate heat, but at Disney I just am unaware that it's hot. Enjoy, it's Disney no matter when you go.

We're going down 3rd week in August. Is there a way to find out what the hours for the parks will be at this time? Thanks in advance.

I just wanted to say it is great to see so many people who do not want their kids to miss school! We did it once when ours were younger but as they get older the workload is just too great. End of August is a fine time to go! I am so cold right now a little heat and humidity actually sounds super!!!

This will be our third year in a row going at the end of August & we really enjoy it. The crowds are noticably smaller, and even though the parks aren't open as late as earlier in the summer, you're able to get more done due to the lack of lines. We pick up a case or two of water, freeze them overnight, and bring a bunch to the parks with us; it does help with the heat & placing the frozen ones on your neck & wrists feels great. Take it slow & enjoy yourself, it'll be wonderful, it's WDW!

Anyone who survived this last winter in the northeast is probably not to worried about the heat right now and the crowds shouldn't be too bad with Florida schools starting early. Enjoy yourself and get wet alot.

We were there last year end of August for 10 days. Returned home two days before school started. Yes it was hot, but not any hotter than it was at home. Had a blast! First couple of days were crowded, but by the last day the longest wait was 30 minutes.

Had so much fun we're going again this year. We'll be at Marriott's Grande Vista Aug 14 - 17, then a 2 bdrm at OKW 17-23. Got such a deal at the Grande Vista it made sense to save the weekend points - $425 total for a 2bdrm plus two adult tickets to Sea World. Plus my sister owns at Grande Vista so it will be nice to compare. (I know, there is no comparison!)
