Thoughts from our recent cruise

i
I’m just off wonder four days. No masks at bar.s at all. Inside or out. We had drinks at most of them indoors and out. Last day as sea day bars outside were crowded. Inside bars at most were less than half full and most nights less than 10 people in bars

Bingo was always packed
Most trivia nights were just 5-8 families except frozen night. Masks enforced at all of these

Thank you for checking on this.
That's great news.

Thanks for the update. Bummed to hear they aren’t enforcing masking in the gym. What’s up with that?!

um, maybe because you'll never see more than 5-7 people in there at any time.
Meanwhile;e bars are way more crowded (as recently reported by someone down this thread) and no one wears masks there. So... what's up with that?

@Keyser, the Wonder has on-demand tv? I know that isn’t important to most but we’re taking my mother in law to help with the toddler and she enjoyed watching movies in her room when we sailed on the Fantasy in October. I read somewhere that the Wonder was the last ship without on-demand tv.
Yes, my family actually ordered room service and watched Captain America Winter Soldier one day! As mentioned, though, the selection is not (really even close to) as good as on Disney Plus. But, there are quite a few Disney movies, and several (mainly Disney Channel) TV shows available.

Great to hear. Thank you!!

We were on the Halloween Cruise this year on the Wonder.
Bingo was always packed, but the prize money was alot smaller. The final bingo prize on the Wonder in 2019 was over $5k in May, this year was only a few hundred dollars. Actual bingo cards were played and no electronic bingo machines were used, which cut down on the number of entries. Not as fun for us since we can't relax and enjoy our drinks and have fun with the crew as much.

Thanks for the detailed report! Is there any food allowed in the theaters? Really looking forward to some popcorn. . .
No popcorn stand outside the movie theater like before. And no popcorn outside the show theaters either when we went on the Halloween cruise this year.

We were on the 12/13 Wonder and the electronic machines were in use for us. The jackpots were just a couple hundred dollars. This was in the last session of the cruise.

I take it you don’t spend much time in the gym. Mornings are always packed. Waiting for treadmills. People are sweating and breathing heavily. How hard is it to wear a dang mask?! That’s a Petri dish situation

Nope. I go as soon as they open and I've never seen more than 5 people at the same time in the gym in the 10 cruises I've been to. You mean mornings after downing 2-3 plates of food at cabanas? Well, maybe. I can see how there would be more people then. But I go first thing.
Here's the first result on youtube when you search for Disney cruise gym
A grand total of (gasp!) 1 person can be seen at 0:56 - (two if you count the person filming)
I'm glad it's not required to wear a mask. Besides being easier to breathe, it keeps the Karens away.

I'm not judging anyone, but it makes no sense that everywhere else on the ship a mask is required indoors, even walking down the hallway. I've never been to the DCL gym but do they have open windows to let fresh air inside? Do they at least limit the numbers of people allowed in?

I can report that the masking requirements were different on our 12/26 Fantasy cruise (we had covid cases onboard). Masks were required in the gym and the last few days masks were required for all indoor photographs, even when it was a DCL photographer. I didn’t think Mask compliance was all that great on the cruise. Particularly in the movie theater and elevators.

Interesting. When I was in the gym on that cruise no one was wearing masks.

So lame. If this doesn't change, we're done playing bingo on DCL. Too bad as we used to really enjoy it. There's no excitement to the game if there's no chance to win a big jackpot at the end of the cruise.

On our Nov 27 Magic 5-nt cruise the final jackpot was $5000 but in order to win it, you had to declare bingo within a limited number of picks.
