How would you feel if each of the items that were awarded ended up for sale in the next few weeks?

Be honest....

Personally - I do hope they are awarded another way (sooner rather than later).

Opinions?

Hey, it would be no problem by me, I was in it for the 75 grand credits!

Because there are so many players, especially children who haven't finished the quest so I would want the prizes to go on sale.

I should not reply I'm guess because I am not quite done. However whether I finish or not, I don't care if they release the items. I am not on a whole heck of a lot, so if they go on sale I will have almost as hard as I am right now getting the credits to buy the items.

I am also not a trader by any stretch of the imagination so whether I finish or not they were basically just for myself and my daughter to share to begin with.

I'm not bent on having rare this, that, or the other. I just like magic and clothes. Any magic I don't have and any clothes I don't have no matter how rare or not, I would like to get. The furniture I could care less about unless I decide to start trading and then I will trade it for clothes and magic LOL.

Edited to add, oh yeah the credits, I do want those since like I said above I don't play enough to have a large bank roll, so to speak. My daughter is also no good at the mini games, so I would probably give her credits with my kiosk. She wanted me to get both of our players through, but I am not done with mine yet so we will share if I make it.

i would be mad for a couple minutes then I would go buy 4 more treasure and 4 more lightning magic and get over it

Honestly? I'd be ticked. NOT because I didn't want other people to have them (if that were the case, I wouldn't be trying to help people through Pirates!), but because it would mean that I'd just spent an entire weekend waiting in queues, trying to scrape together teams and playing my LEAST favorite of all the mini-games when I could have just waited and bought all of it. Time is not something I have much of at all, and I've spent A LOT of time on this quest. If VMK turned right around and put everything in the shops immediately, it would feel like they didn't respect the time commitment that the quest required.

I won't mind at all if some of it goes up for sale a little while down the road. Just not next week - let the memory of the quest and its frustrations fade a little bit first. That's all I ask.

I really hope that doesn't sound exclusionary and have/have-not. That isn't what I mean at all. My feelings would have nothing to do with how many other people were able to get the quest items, just the fact that I PERSONALLY had to go through so much to get them when I could have waited and had them much more easily.

My first instinct would be outraged because I worked so hard to get these items... And then I realize just how many people didn't get the items because it was nearly impossible...

Yeah, I'd be ok if the items were on sale.

I REALLY like that answer.

I will decide on my answer if I finish the quest tomorrow.

But I am pretty sure I want the items to go on sale for those that cannot finish. This has been way too heartbreaking for many of us. And I think that the 75K credit payroll and the items pretty much cover the time invested, regardless of whether or not they go on sale. For we have seen the VMK-inflation lately ;)

I know it is a lot of time, but I too was on the computer all weekend. But at least my water bill will be lower because I barely went to the bathroom! :rotfl:

hahaha!!
I would like to see it all come on sale, no problem there (save maybe the silver ears). But what would really be cool is if all the players who didn't get through it got something the quest winners did not get!
(I got through it after fifty-some-odd hours and a lot of help)

I completely agree!! :thumbsup2

I am of the opinion everyone in game should be able to obtain everything with a reasonable amount of effort. I've always thought that way, and this is no different. The effort required for this quest was very unreasonable. However, I see the other side of this too. I know many people would be right ticked off if they spent three + days straight on the computer and then everything was sold for 500 credits or so (magic aside) right away. I'd be more than a little annoyed myself if this Friday rolled around and everything was for sale; that'd be 2 days of my life I will never get back that I could have not spent in VMK from dusk til dawn. I could care less about the stuff being rare; I just don't want to feel like I wasted my time for nothing. Those who didn't quite make it would have essentially wasted all that time too. To me, time is more precious than any prize.

The best compromise I can think of is make all the prizes available to everyone in some way or another (be it DMR codes, later easier quest prizes, for sale, Host prize, etc.), and then create a new pin for those who did complete the quest, so everyone who did would have their own badge of determination, luck, and teamwork that it took most of us to achieve it. Nothing too exciting, just have it say something like "VMK's Biggest Quest Winner." That way everyone gets all the goodies and (ideally) those who did win the items in the quest would still have something to show for their victory. Just a thought. :wizard:

SorcererDonald, I really, REALLY like that idea. A lot!

I dig it. I would have totally enjoyed a nontradeable Badge of Honor, while those unable to complete the Impossible Quest would be able to grab the cool items as well.

I'm guessing we haven't seen the end of Lightning Magic and that it'll return within a few weeks for 10,000 credits at the Magic Shop. Treasure Detector Magic, on the other hand, may be a little iffy...

As for the Silver Ears? Realistically... I think VMK intends for that to be our only "badge of honor," as I do foresee them releasing everything else eventually.

I do hope that VMK does decide to release these quest items in the future - because that would be the right and fair thing to do. That way, at least everyone will have an equal opportunity to buy whatever he or she wants.

I would not be against it at all if they released the items.
(Still looking for a little red rocking chair to call my own)
Release everything!
Of course I am the one who who loves to shop and likes all the things so I can build cool rooms....

I do wish to all who put a lot of time and effort and did not pass would get some kind of prize. A thanks for giving it a shot prize.

I know we (my group) helped a lot of people get past that POTC part but for every person we did help there were literally countless others who could not find a willing team to help them along or left after they helped someone get passed that task. I seen lots of you out there helping too!

If they released it all tomorrow I would not mind. It weekend brought memories ( ups & down) thats for sure and I will always remember the big quest and the day I got my> princess:

I was in for the challenge, the credits (because they helped me to get more half bridge parts and be able to continue the project I have in mind) , the minnie hat and the silver ears. I would not mind if the magic or yellow box or purple items or umbrella had to be (re)released.

Seeing how the quest ended : I would like to see the ears released too.

PAr for the course for VMK...
I expect most if not all of it to be on sale again soon. I really am hoping that the lightening magic and umbrella do go on sale for all- the other items- I could go either way- oh- for the record I have yet to complete the quest thanks to an incompetent nurse I had to fire and then couldn't replace- I worked all day and night- so no questing for me yesterday...

I have no problem with all the items (yes, even the ears) available through purchase, ride-a-thon or quest. Perhaps a mix so that not items are available right away or in the same way. I could see TDM not available though since thousands having it full time might be a problem. That may stay single use for future host events. I'm still hoping the Dream Suite becomes available somehow for everyone.

But, having been on VMK from the beginning of Beta, I'm afraid they never use the "what is the fairest way to do things" as a measuring stick. So, we can hope that most of the things become available and for all of those who worked just as hard to get through the quest but didn't manage it, I hope something really special comes your way soon. I know I only managed it with a lot of help from Dis members and luck.

I wouldn't mind...I just wouldn't have to buy them!

I really wanted the silver ears, TDM, and the purple treasure chest. It doesn't matter to me whether or not they release them tomorrow.

For example, I have a pink tiki that I love. I wish I could buy them or obtain them somehow - I want more. I don't care if it's rare or not - it's PINK!

I would just die for some pink ears.
