Hi,
Thomas Cook are doing decent prices from Glasgow during the school holidays in the summer. I have never flow long haul with them but wasn't impressed with their short haul. Anybody got any feedback on them? We will be flying with a three year old and also six month old baby just to add to the stress if we do book!

Flew with them last july from Glasgow on airbus, seats 3-3-3 then it goes to 2 seats at the back. Food was good but kids didnt like. IFE was also good, choice of films, comedy etc. Screens on back of seats. Toilets where downdtairs.

Are you booking flights only with them? I have heard that they are pretty good on longhaul as far as flights are concerned. Be aware that they have discontinued their premium cabin though, just in case you were considering it.

We have done a couple of Signature packages with them (flights with VA). My opinion based on my experience with the is as follows:

  • Prices are often very competitive
  • You can sometimes haggle with them
  • In store service is outstanding if you are booking through a branch
  • A lot of mistakes on bookings which had to be corrected
  • We have had them book us into the wrong airport hotel
  • If you have a problem and want to communicate with them on your return, customer service is appalling if you are lucky and non existent otherwise. Silly numbers of letters and emails which were acknowleged, yet they later claimed never to have recieved them and after 6 months of followng up several times a week I just wrote them off.

Bottom line for me is they are great when all goes well, but they just can't be bothered once they have your money in the unlikely event that you encounter problems.

That is my experience of the good and the bad, of which there is both. I am one who will pay a bit more for customer service. Others find the actual product alone is the only consideration.

The prices from Glasgow are great at the moment so was considering their "Premium" cabin - anyone have any experience of the service offered?

We are just booking flights with them as none of their packages really suited us. We were told that there was no seat back entertainment and that there would just be a screen in the main cabin but that isn't really an issue. They are the best prices by far from Glasgow.

No more premium cabin on TC unless they have reversed the decision for some reason. It is now all economy as far as I know.

according to their website the premium economy is still available up to May 2011 and we are looking at booking for April
