Well I was last up at Disney in the beginning of June, and my next trip wasn't booked until Dec 6-10...I was hoping to find a few days in between to get back up to Disney again.

Well, due to bad news with a silver lining, I now have booked on short notice to head up to WDW September 17th through the 21st! The lining is even more silver...maybe gold...in that it won't cost me any vacation days, and I'll be getting paid for 2 of the 4 days I'm there.

The bad news? My office building has been seeing signs of termites, that haven't responded to the basic treatments...so tenting is the only remaining option. That means all offices in the building are getting a forced 4-day weekend.

I called earlier this week to fish for any availability at DVC for a studio on very short notice - the only one I could get all 4 nights on was Saratoga Springs...so I grabbed it (better than splitting stay). Gave me a chance to uptate Sep availability thread too. ;)

What an amazing coincidence that I had precisely 62 points left this use year - and I was at the end of my banking opportunity. SSR studio, Sep, value season, 4 nights? Yep, 62 points!

Just happy to be going back again sooner than December. With trips this January, March, June, September, and December, I'll have 21 days this year...a little less than usual for me (It's been a busy year, and I still have 3 weeks of vacation time left out of 4 to use at work, because I just haven't been able to get away for as many trips this year).

I put in my Congress Park request, Building 1, facing Downtown Disney. Don't know my chances of getting it on very short notice...but no matter where they put me, at least I'm back!

:cool1: Nice.....I love a surprise vacation!!! Enjoy...and at least you are getting paid for 2 of the days. :goodvibes Have fun!!!!!!

Thanks. I know I'm spoiled getting to go so often - but like anything else, you get used to your lifestyle. I was really getting withdrawal from Disney after getting back the 2nd week of June, and thinking I may not be up there again until December. Now, problem solved!

Ah, at least termites are good for something. :lmao:

Have a good time!

Congrats!!! Some things are just meant to be.....termites & WDW?! Enjoy I am anxiously waiting for our Nov trip and would love to slide another on like that!!!

I love this thread! Seems like we get lots of repeat topics, but this has to be a one-and-only! Have a fun time!

Congrats! Now that's the kind of news I would like to hear from my boss, :cool1:

I need to google and see if anyone sells termites...:surfweb:

See, if that happened to me, they would tell me to be sure to work from home on those days. Lucky you! Of course, I am lucky in that I work from home permanently so I can work from anywhere, including disney! :)

Thanks all. Happy to share a different story...maybe I am the first to mention termites and Disney trips in the same sentence!

We are a financial advisory office, so we usually do tend to work while on conferences or other business trips...I usually bring a laptop and use my office desktop remotely.

But for the termite tenting, we'll be shutting down our main server and wrapping it, so there won't even be a server to access during that time. So no work and all play makes Justin a happy boy!*

*I lie a little...I'll probably bring my laptop just to check my work e-mail once or twice each day on Thu, Fri & Mon...just to make sure there are no client emergencies or special requests that have to be acomodated. But that's easy enough to log in while having coffee in the morning, then again for a little afternoon/early evening break between parks back at the room.
