This time we did it right! (Updated 3/2!)

I am caught up now. Even though it rained at MNSSHP it looks like you guys still had a great time. Your costumes were brilliant, I loved the baby as the Prof. Plum, too cute.

I hate the last day too, hate reading about them almost as much as living them, I can always feel the sadness of the writer about having to leave. But yes, you get to go home to hubby.

Hey Julie! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's fallen behind on the Dis! I fell behind around the holidays and then once the semester started at the end of January I only came on here a few times a week. I'm trying to get all caught up with everything again and I just re-read your whole report because I had forgotten all the fun stuff that happened at the beginning. You guys are all so much fun, and you, Beth and Sarah look like you could be sisters! You all look so much alike.

I really hope you finish the report because I've been enjoying it for a few months now. I'd love to know how it ends. I hope all is well!

Hey! I need to go catch up on your TR!!! I didn't even know it was going on!

I will definitely finish. AFter I finish all my month-end paper work today, I'm gonna work on an installment.

It's funny you say that we all look alike...Sarah and I get that a lot cuz we are cousins. Beth and I started to hear that a lot toward the end of college (we were roommates for all 6 years of undergrad and grad school). I think we started to look alike because we spent so much time together!

Thanks! I had an absence from the DIS as well and there is SO much to catch up on!

You and Nicole both! You guys think you can just swoop down and get us hooked on these awesome trip reports and then just DROP us - your faithful followers. Hmmmph!

okay, since you're such good girls, I guess we'll forgive you....this time.

I look forward to hearing the rest of your report, the rest of Nicole's two reports, and many more in the future.

Maybe if you guys would quit (circle all that apply)
a)getting sick
b)working so hard
c)training for marathons
d)moving to the other side of the country
e)getting new 'sorta' boyfriends

you could pay closer attention to your Dis obligations!!!

Of course, this is coming from the person who takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r to finish a trip report. I am determined to finish the December trip report before we leave on the 14th for our March trip, so I may have to cut a lot out.

Anyway, it's good to see that you are both still alive and well out there in the good old U.S. of A.

Count me in on hating the last day. You just want to milk it for all it is worth, yet you know you have a long trip home and need to get started. It was good that you did have something to look forward to at home to help ease the pain.

Haha, MeMom, you're the best!

Edited to Add: SwansLovesDisney rocks my socks too

Aaaah! :sad2: Almost at the end of a most entertaining and wonderful TR. Thanks Julie for sharing your fun.

Thank you for being so forgiving, MeMom!

And thanks for sticking with me despite my temporary abandonment!

You have a lot to do on your December report to get it done in 12 days!!!! I am so jealous, by the way!

Upon arrival at Epcot, Sarah and I looked up at the sky and noticed that it was very gray and cloudy. Very appropriate for our last day.

We walked over to Turtle Talk with Crush (one of the things on our must do list) and noticed that it would be a while till the next show.

Nemo had no wait, so we hopped in a clam and looked for that cute little fish! This was my first time on Nemo and I thought it was adorable.

PA300193.jpg

Next, we headed over to Turtle Talk and hung out with the sting rays for a while before the show. Sting rays are beautiful creatures, but I'd be lying if I said they didn't scare the heck out of me!

PA300194.jpg

We headed into the theater and saw Turtle Talk with Crush.

CUTEST THING EVER!!!!!!!

I loved Turtle Talk. The kids were hilarious. When Crush asks them questions, they say the craziest things. I could just see their parents willing their children to say nice, normal things. But no! It was as if those kids had been given crazy pills before the show. I loved it. I couldn't believe I had never seen it before! Thank goodness for the DIS, where I learned of Turtle Talk!

After we caught our breath from laughing so hard, Sarah and I headed over to our second home...World Showcase.

And we made a beeline for the Boulangerie in France.

PA300205.jpg

We shared an apple tart, a cafe au lait, and a Nid d'Abeille. The Nid d'Abeille was a pastry thing with some cream in the middle. My description doesn't do it justice, but it was delicious! And the apple tart was awesome too.

The cafe au lait was also good. I'm not a big coffee drinker unless it is flavored and sugared up. But the cafe au lait was very good without sugar and flavor. Maybe cuz it was Disney cafe au lait!

After our wonderful snack, it was time to check out the Japan department store. I could get lost in that place for hours if you let me. I love the beauty enhancement items in that store. They had a little facelift workout device that's supposed to keep it all from wrinkling. I'll have to keep that in mind in the future.

We also watched the pearl ladies get pearls for people. I've never done that, but I'm always tempted!

Next it was time for the Fife and Drum guys. We hung out on a bench in America and waited for them to come by. Our ultimate goal was to see Voices of Liberty, who I had never seen, but it was great to see the Fife and Drum Corps.

PA300208-1.jpg

After they were finished, they headed into the American Adventure building and Sarah and I stayed on our bench outside waiting for Voices of Liberty. And we waited. And we waited. And Voices of Liberty were late. We looked at the Times Guide again and saw that it said they would indeed be outside the American Adventure, so we stayed outside in the semi-sun on our bench.

What happened? :confused3

Oh boy! A mystery! Where are those Hardy Boys when we need them???

I agree about Japan. That place has so many neat things to look at. All those beautiful kimonos, the fans, jewelry boxes...just tons of pretty things.

I'll tell you what happened!

We were in the WRONG SPOT!

Sarah and I watched everyone else follow the Fife and Drum Corps into the American Adventure building, but we stayed planted on our bench, not getting the hint.

Finally, after waiting about 10 minutes, we decided to check inside the building. And there they were! Voices of Liberty! :yay: On their last song!

Maybe it was that we were very tired that day, maybe it was that we were sad about our last day, maybe it's just cuz we're airheads sometimes. Whatever the reason, we didn't think to check inside the building and we missed almost all of the show. What we did see was incredible. And I can't wait to see Voices of Liberty, in their entirety, again when we go back.

Just as VOL finished up, my phone rang. It was Beth, Jason, and baby Blaize. They had arrived at Epcot. :yay: And they were to meet us in Norway for lunch.

We dined at Kringla Bakery og Cafe. I had a roast beef sandwich, seafood soup, and a veiled maiden. The sandwich was delicious. The veiled maiden was great, according to my notes, but I can't remember what it was!

Here's a pic of the mess that was our lunch. So much food!

PA300210-1.jpg

As for the seafood soup, it was very tasty, but my stomach did not appreciate it. I felt kinda icky after I ate the soup, so I only had a little bit of it.

Sarah had the Gravlax and egg sandwich, which she said was delicious.

Here's a cute little monster, all dressed up for Halloween

PA300214-1.jpg

After lunch, we headed into the church in Norway and read about all the Vikings. That was very interesting.

Then Sarah had to leave. :sad1: She was going to take Magical Express to the airport, and her flight was a little earlier than the rest of us, she she headed back to AKL to catch the bus to MCO. So sad.

Now it was time to get our shop on. I was so good this trip...I spent very little money. I didn't spend very much on food or souvenirs or clothes or anything. But I realized that I had forgotten to get my mom a souvenir. She is a huge Disney fan like me, so it would have been very neglectful to leave her out!

I found a super cute t-shirt for her in the Mousegear store. (Is that what it's called?)

Beth had been eyeing Mickey Crocs all week. She seemed very sad today and I wanted her to cheer up so we would end our trip on a good note. So I secretly bought some Mickey Crocs.

I presented Beth with the Mickey Crocs and it did the trick! Her mood was deifinitely better.

PA310217-1.jpg

Just the other day, I was talking to Beth on the phone and she said that every time Blaize (now 7 months old) sees the Crocs, he starts laughing a big belly laugh. Smart kid!

I must have been raving about Turtle Talk, because B and J wanted to see it before we left. Again, it was HILARIOUS! And again, I think they handed out crazy pills to the kiddos before the show.

After Turtle Talk, we all had one last Mickey ice cream bar. YUM!!!!

Then, it was time for the inevitable. Time to say good-bye to Epcot.

PA310216-1.jpg

We went to the car and drove back to AKL. We picked up our bags from bell services and jam packed the call full of our junk. Then it was time to head to MCO. :sad1:

I think Jason really didn't want to go home because on the way to the airport, he got off the interstate to get gas and he totally got us lost! :scared1:

Eventually, we found our way to the airport and headed inside. I said goodbye to B, J, and B and checked my bag.

And who happened to be at the gate next to me waiting for her flight?

Sarah!

So Sarah and I sat together and filled in all the details in my journal so I could write this trip report!

About the airport, let me tell you, Halloween must be one of the deadest (no pun intended) days of the year for flying. There seemed to be NO ONE at the airport. It was very nice. Oh, and all the Southwest counters were having a contest for the best Halloween decorations. It was great to see all the decorations. As I said before, I LOVE Halloween and I was pretty sad that I wasn't going to be able to hand out candy to trick or treaters. So I was glad that the Southwest people were in the Halloween spirit!

It was time for Sarah to board, so we said good-bye.

About 40 minutes later, it was my turn.

The flight was uneventful.

DH picked me up at the airport in Phoenix at about 10:30 p.m. And he had brought the dogs with him! I was so happy to see all three of them. We headed back to our house and I just about fell into my bed. It was the end of another FABULOUS Disney trip. And this time, we definitely TRIED to do it right, but I did learn a lot of things that I will apply to my next trip...

Up next,
What have we learned?
and
When's the next trip?

Nice ending to your trip. I can't wait to get back to Epcot! And I can't wait to hear your next installment to find out when your next trip is! :goodvibes

Okay,

Turtle Talk. Okay, I assume the turtle talks!!!!:lmao: :rotfl:

But what turtle and where? Living Seas right? Fill me in on this attraction.

That's what I love about WDW. People, those why go to WDW outsiders:lmao:, don't get it. You can go and go and go to WDW. And voila, always something you haven't seen. Always.

Lisa

great update and pics.

the last day is so sad.

hope your going back soon.

Great ending, I enjoyed hanging out at your trip! Hope your next one is real soon!

I really enjoyed your report - thanks so much for sharing. That final day is always so horrible - at least you had hubby and dogs to pick you up!

I too could spend a lot of time in the Japan store - just love it! It never seems to end - everytime you turn a corner there is another section.

In high school our band/choir teachers were a husband and wife. They applied for Voices of Liberty and got it! They went I think when I was a junior (loooong time ago) and I remember the whole class taking a trip to Epcot to see them - they were fantastic! I have loved listening to Voices of Liberty since then!

Can't wait to hear about your next trip...:rolleyes1

Aw, I'm so sad to see the trip come to an end. I really loved it! The next time you're at Epcot definitely check out VOL. When I went to Disney with school back in 2001 the trip coordnator was my Social Studies/History teacher and she made the entire group meet at a certain time to see VOL and they were great! Definitely something you wouldn't expect at a theme park.

I can't wait to find out when the next trip is...!
