This time we did it right! (Updated 3/2!)

I am working on my next installment right now! The photobucket pics are uploading as I type.

I miss the DIS! I need my life to slow down a little so I can dis more!

After we got all dressed up in our Clue costumes,

P1030136.jpg

we headed out to the buses. It’s such a pain to park at the Magic Kingdom, so we decided that the buses were our best bet tonight.

As we walked through the lobby of AKL and to the bus stop, we got lots of stares from everyone who was trying to figure out what the heck we were!

Then, as we sat at the bus stop, Sarah had a little fun with the other people who were waiting for buses. She approached a few people and asked questions like “Have you seen Mr. Green? I can’t find that man anywhere!” As soon as she started asking questions like that, everyone got it.

Then, when we got on the bus, a woman asked us “Are you Clue?” And we were all SOOOO happy! Our first person who recognized us with no help!

Yay!

Also, on the bus, we chatted about what our best strategy would be for getting our weapons into the Magic Kingdom. I shoved my knife into the bag I was carrying and hoped for the best.

As we went through security, I chatted up the security guy, hoping that he wouldn’t say anything about the knife. I don’t even think he saw it!

We got our MNSSHP bracelets and our trick or treat bags. (Yay!)

PA300117.jpg

Then we stopped and said hello to some friends.

I carried my knife in a very inconspicuous location.

Let me tell you, Disney cast members were awesome. They all knew who we were. We would hear someone shout from across the sidewalk “the Clue characters!” and we’d look and it was a cast member! There were quite a few random people that recognized us and even wanted pictures of/with us! Especially British people. We felt like celebrities. I learned that that in the UK, Clue is called “Cluedo.” That’s what all the British people were calling us.

There were a few people that thought I was the French maid from the Adventurer’s Club. I straightened that out right away.

Our first ride of the night was Pirates of the Caribbean. A cast member in PoC accused me of stealing their dust with my feather duster. She was YELLING at me, even after I got in my boat and was on my way! It was pretty funny.

Next was the Jungle Cruise. This was my first time ever on the Jungle Cruise. Our boat driver (what are they called) was really funny, but wasn’t getting much of a response from anyone except our group. I felt bad for her!

Dinner was at Pecos Bill’s. Delicous!

Have I mentioned that it was raining on and off the entire time since we left AKL for the party? Well, when we stopped to eat, it started POURING! We ate and tried to wait for the rain to die down. No such luck. We donned our ponchos (so sad to cover our costumes) and headed over to Haunted Mansion. It was so much fun to go into the Haunted Mansion in Halloween costumes!

There was a surprise candy spot as we exited HM. This is what they were giving out:

PA300135.jpg

We snapped a pic of us just outside the door.

PA300131.jpg

Then it was onto the Snow White ride. So scary!

Then Winnie the Pooh. There were some shenanigans on Winnie the Pooh:

P1030176.jpg

Next, we went on the Candy Trail and filled our candy bags.

We checked out Minnie and Mickey’s houses. Let me tell you, Minnie is not such a good housekeeper.

P1030183.jpg

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things is not quite the same.

P1030192.jpg

Oh, Beth found 50 dollars right outside of Minnie’s house. We waited there for about 10 minutes to see if anyone came by to look for it, but no one did. That was kind of a downer for all of us, thinking about someone losing a 50 dollar bill at the happiest place on Earth. After much deliberation, Beth decided that she would buy a treat later for everyone and donate the rest.

Next up: What would the rain mess up now?!?!

I still love Blaize in his goggles...sooo cute! Your costumes were clever...I would have never thought of that...have a merry xmas and a safe trip!

I can't take too much credit for the costumes...I googled "group costume ideas" and that was one that came up!

Oh Julie,

Too flippin' funny. What a fantastic trip report. You guys are too much fun. :lmao: What memories. I'm still laughing about the baby and the troll weeks later. Blaize is going to love that one.

Merry Christmas, have a wonderful time in Chicago and have fun at the wedding.

She lives!!! Glad to hear from you!

I'm alive! Thanks for sticking with me!

Julie, glad to see you're still around.....:thumbsup2

You'll have to do some mini-TRs and let us know about your other trips....

I better not start any mini-TR's! With my track record, you'd still be reading about my January ski trip in August!

Hi Julie - Glad to hear your holidays and brother's wedding were nice. Can't wait to read on... popcorn::

Thanks!

Julie- we miss you! Come back! I'm glad you had a good christmas and enjoyed your brother's wedding!

I'm here! I miss all of you too! I think I'm back to normal life now. Well, after this weekend I will be. I'm taking a continuing education course in Tucson this weekend. Then it will be life as usual, and DISing as usual!

Yay - an update!:cheer2: I have never dressed up for MNSSHP but after seeing how much fun you guys had I will have to think of something for next year.

Thanks for sharing! :)

Julie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad you're back.

What a great update!!!

I was laughing hard when I saw your convenient knive storage...:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Rain, Schmain...it looks like you guys had a blast anyway.....

I wouldn't mind a TR that lasted until August....that way you could go right into your next PTR.....:thumbsup2

Sounds good! I'm jealous that you'll be at AKL so soon. Have a drink by the fire for me!

I will! Some friends of ours decided to come along for the weekend and are staying at the same resort. They are not thrilled about the resort choice for some reason :confused3 but decided to stay there because we are. I've already warned them that I tend to hang out at the resort a bit and enjoy its ammenities! :)

I just found your trip report and love it. The pictures of your costumes were great, a very clever idea.

Yay, Julie's back!!! Great update, as usual! I love all the pics and how cool to feel like celebs :cool1:

Thanks! I'm glad I'm back, too!

We did manage to have fun (how could we not?), but the rain was TERRIBLE that night!

I think I only have 3 installments left on this TR, so if it takes me till August, there's a problem!

You definitely have to hang out at the resort. I feel like we didn't do that enough!

Next up was Space Mountain, my FAVORITE thing at Magic Kingdom. I just LOVE this ride! :lovestruc

The wait for Space Mountain was only 5 minutes! Score!

We were all pretty hyper from eating a ton of candy from our trick or treat bags, so we ran through the line and up to our space shuttle.

I rode in the first car. Yay! While on the ride, I held my camera up backwards to take a pic of my "friends" behind me. I wanted to see what they looked like while riding this super fun ride. When we got off the ride, I looked at the pics and here's what I found!

PA300156.jpg

Miss Scarlet! How could you?!? :confused3

Space Mountain was so much fun that we did it again! This time the wait was 10 minutes, but turned out to be more like 3 minutes. It was super fun again, of course.

When we were all finished with Space Mountain, we started to make our way over to a good viewing spot for the fireworks. Well, it just so happened that it started POURING on our way. And when I say pouring, I mean buckets and buckets of water. Our feet were all SOAKED. Thank goodness I had my rain jacket AND a poncho.

There was a question as to whether the fireworks would go on or not. But, alas, Disney did not disappoint. There were fireworks!

P1030215.jpg

P1030214.jpg

As you can see, the wind was blowing so much that the fireworks weren't exactly centered over the castle!

Oh, and we had our second Dole Whip floats of the trip while watching the fireworks.

P1030208.jpg

After the fireworks, it was time for the Stepsisters to make an appearance outside the castle. So we walked over to the castle.

When we got there, we were told that it was raining too hard and the stepsisters would not be able to come out. WHAT!?!? :confused3 I paid 50 dollars for a ticket to this halloween party and the stepsisters can't come out because it's raining? Can't someone hold an umbrella or something? The stepsisters were the ONLY characters I wanted to see the entire trip and they're not coming out cuz it's raining.

The next bit of bad news was that the parade would also most likely be cancelled. What?!

Can you tell the rain was making me crabby?

Okay, so I got over the stepsisters and parade thing and we headed in to watch Stitch's dance party. Stitch's dance party cracked me up. I found myself singing the songs from the dance party hours later!

After the dance party, we headed back out into the monsoon. We made our way over to Monsters Inc, but there was a 30 minute wait, so we passed on that. Stitch's Great Escape was our next option. There was no wait for this one and we were ready to have a break from the rain!

This was my first time seeing Stitch's Great Escape. And it FREAKED me out! That is the strangest thing I have ever seen! If I ever did drugs, this is what I imagine it would be like!

After Stitch's Great Escape, it had stopped raining! Yay! Then, magically, we heard an announcement that the parade would go on after all. So we found a spot and waited for the parade. And waited. And waited. And waited. Then the rain started again.

And we waited.

And waited.

Then, suddenly, there it was!

The Boo to You Halloween parade!
P1030221.jpg

I don't have a lot of pictures from the parade because it was raining so much and I didn't want to ruin my camera!

It was awesome, though. Normally, I'm not really into parades. But this one was awesome, with all the characters in Halloween costumes.

After the parade, we were all cold and soaked to the bone, so we decided to call it a night and head back to AKL.

Back at the AKL, we fell into our beds and slept hard. This was going to be our last night at AKL. So sad!

Next up: Getting the most out of our last day!

Glad you got to see the parade even though it was wet! You all had a great attitude during the rainy night! :) Sorry you are almost to your last day. :sad2:

I hate that it rained during the parade. It was so neat - the headless horseman, the guy with the dog, all the special costumes, villains and Boo to You music. We had a blast that night, and Jill has now talked John into going back again this October so he can see it all.

I remember looking at the good-bye sign on the way out and thinking that yes, we really had had a swell time!

As for Stitch, I think I'd have to be ON drugs to go back in that. Although, I'm thinking that I should go in there a second time just to see if it was truly as pointless as I thought it was the first time.

I'm glad you had a good time in spite of the weather. Since it can't be controlled, you just make the best of it and be glad you're with people you love in such a wonderful place!

And you gotta love those 3-5 minute ride waits, too!

YAY an update . I loved the pictures, especially Miss Scarlet, with a lead pipe, on Space Mountain (sorry I had to say it!!). Reading your report makes me want to go to the MNSSHP. Sorry about the monsoon, it looks like you still had a great time!!

Can't wait to read more, I can't believe it is almost over :sad1:.

great update. sorry it rained on your parade.
