Good afternoon Rebels!
Jane - You're right, we have been a talkative group lately. I love it!
"I feel so empty on the bottom right now" - where is the Tag Fairy when you need her?!
Here's some PD that you get the new job that you're hoping for!
I don't think it's possible to drink too much water, unless you're drinking beyond the point of comfort, If it starts to feel like too much, then back off for a bit, but don't forget to keep it up.
I'm glad you're enjopying your group runs. That's great that you have a group with the same goals as you, and who are right there with you, running at the same pace and mileage. And congrats on you losing 3 pounds!!
Nikki - How are your shins feeling? Have they loosened up any? I'm glad you enjoyed your Cross Fit session. It sounds interesting. And if it's fun, then you're way more likely to continue doing it.
I love that you came here this morning to get the motivation you needed! I hope we were able to provide it.
cwnhokie - Painting totally count as cross training!
Jen - How did your weekend go? Did you make healthier eating choices? I think it's great that you recognized your choices weren't the best and decided to change them. How about your water intake - were you able to up that?
I'm glad you found a bungee solution that works for you.
Yikes - 9.25 miles in hot and humid weather - yuck! You guys must have nerves of steel to finish the whole mileage in that.
Katie - I'm sorry your week has been so terrible. I'm hoping this one is better for you. And congrats on your 20th half! I bow down to you Jedi Master of the Half Marathon.
Pat - I can't imagine being able to just run over the Disney World for a few hours after work or on the weekend, or just heading to the Poly for lunch at Kona. That would be so amazing! I hope you get that job!
James - We're glad you checked in! Were you able to get in that 3 mile walk? And did you get to break in that new stroller?
Gretchen - The weather could be affecting you, or you could be hitting a plateau. Have you tried shaking up your routine? Doing things in a different way, maybe throwing in sprints or different cross training?
Liam - Great marathon report. I wonder if marathoners often stop at the houses and ask to use the facilities. I bet the people would love to help.
Your report is an excellent example of working through the hard part in a race and just finishing. You could have easily called it quits, but not only did you not give up, you made a personal record! That's amazing! I also saw the report of the runner who collapsed and died, and I am so glad that you made it away in relatively good health.
Barb (and Silent Bob) - Darn those race directors for not excluding the hills like you had been used to!

Congrats on Bob's PR! And congrats to you for beating your friends!
James - Do you not carry water with you on your walks? Or do you use your house/water stop to refill your containers? I think it takes excellent will power to walk into your house and walk right back out and keep going. It would be so easy to just sit on the couch "for a minute" and then never get back up.
Hope your sinuses are feeling better.
Manda - Were you able to get in your 3-miler?
To everyone - Remember that one not-so-wise choice does not have to ruin your day or week or even hour. Stop, take a breath, and move on. Start over right now!
